Intended Use
Your BLACK+DECKER BXAC65004GB LED Mini
Air Cooler has been designed for cooling small and
medium spaces.
This appliance is intended for indoor household use
only.
Thank you for choosing BLACK+DECKER. We hope
that you will enjoy using this product for many years.

Using Your Appliance
Please read the operating
instructions carefully before using
your air cooler for the rst time.
♦ Check that the voltage of the main
circuit corresponds with the rating
of the appliance before operating.
♦ Children shall not play with the
appliance.
♦ Do not let the cable hang over the
edge of a table or counter or let
it come into contact with any hot
surfaces.
♦ The use of accessory attachments
is not recommended by the
appliance manufacturer, apart from
those supplied with this product.
♦ Do not pull the plug out by the
cable as this may damage the plug
and/or the cable.
♦ Do not use this product for anything
other than its intended use.
♦ This appliance is for household use
only.
♦ Do not carry the appliance by the
power cable.
♦ Do not use the appliance outdoors.
♦ Do not operate with wet hands.
♦ Use of an extension cable with this
appliance is not recommended.
However, if it is necessary to use

After Use
♦ While cleaning, DO NOT use a wet
cloth or use water on any part of
the unit, as this may cause a short

opening as this may cause electric
shock, or damage to the unit.
Switch off the unit and then remove
the plug from the socket when not
in use or before cleaning.
♦ Check all inlets and outlets
regularly for accumulated dust
♦ Disconnect the unit from mains
outlet when it is not in use, or
before relocating or cleaning it.
♦ Switch off and remove the plug
from the socket before leaving the
appliance unattended and before
changing, cleaning or inspecting
any parts of the appliance.
♦ When not in use, the appliance
should be stored in a dry place.
Children should not have access to
stored appliances.
Inspections And Repairs
♦ Do not attempt to dismantle, repair
or remould any part of the unit. This
should only be done by a qualied
service agent. Even the change of
power cable should be done by a
qualied person.

♦ In the unlikely event the appliance
develops a fault, stop using it
immediately and seek advice from
the manufacturer.
♦ In case of technical problems,
switch off the product and do not
attempt to repair it yourself. Return
the appliance to an authorised
service facility for examination,
adjustment or repair. Always
insist on the use of original spare
parts. Failure to comply with the
above mentioned precautions and
instructions, could affect the safe
operation of this product.
Additional safety instructions for
Air Coolers and Fans
♦ Install the unit on at and hard oor
to diminish vibration or noise.
♦ Always operate the appliance on a
smooth, even, stable surface. Do
not place the unit on a hot surface.
♦ Ensure that the unit is switched off
after use.
♦ Do not immerse cables, plugs or
any part of the appliance in water
or any other liquid.
♦ Operate the unit only at the voltage
specied.
♦ Do not use the unit near open
windows, as contact with rain and
other natural elements could cause
an electrical hazard
♦ Do not put heavy objects on the
appliance.
♦ Do not tip the unit on its side.
♦ Never insert any other object into
the unit body to avoid any hazard
or unit failure.
♦ Do not put the unit close to
heat-generating devices or
near ammable and dangerous
materials.
♦ If the supply cable is damaged,
it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or its service agent or
a similarly qualied person in order
to avoid a hazard
♦ The appliance must be positioned
so that the plug is accessible.
♦ For optimal airow circulation,
leave a distance of at least 1 metre
around the appliance on every side.
Always direct the airow in order
to optimise cooling. Avoid corners,
small objects and other surfaces
or objects which may impede the
airow.
WARNING: Do not place the unit
on or near a hot gas electric burner.

Use
About the Controls
♦ 3 speed settings
♦ Power button
Turning Your Appliance On or Off
♦ This appliance is operated through USB. You can
power it up using any standard USB socket or
USB-compatible AC plug adaptor.
♦ To power the unit up, connect the micro-USB end
of the included cable to the corresponding slot
located at the back of the unit, and the other end
to a standard USB socket or mains adaptor. The
blue water tank light and all the LED indicators on
the control panel will briey illuminate to show the
unit has been powered up. After a moment, the
water tank light and blue control panel indicators
will go out, but the red ‘0’ indicator will remain lit to
show the unit is charging.
♦ Press the Power On/Off button on the unit’s
control panel to turn your appliance on. The blue
water tank light and Low Speed LED indicator on
the unit’s control panel will come on to show the
unit has been turned on. Press the button again
to turn the appliance off. The water tank light and
indicators will go out to show the unit has been
turned off, but the red ‘0’ indicator on the unit’s
control panel will remain lit to show the unit is
charging.
Speed Selection
♦ This unit offers a choice of 3 different speeds:
Low, Medium and High. Press the Speed button
on the unit’s control panel to cycle between the
different speed settings. The corresponding LED
indicator will light up to show each speed has
been selected.
Note! The air cooler’s default speed setting is Low.
Adjusting the Airflow
♦ You can manually direct
the unit’s airow using the
adjustable grille panel at
the front. Use the small
tab on the right-hand side
of the grille panel to move
the slats up and down and
direct the airow.
Filling the Water Tank
WARNING: Unplug the unit from the power
source before lling it with water.
Note! Always use two hands to carry the unit.
♦ Before lling the tank, place the air cooler in the
desired location. The front of the unit should be
located within approximately 1.8 metres of the
zone you wish to cool. It is recommended that
you place a waterproof pad or cloth under the unit
before attempting to use it.
♦ To ll the tank, begin by detaching it from the unit
and turning it upside down. Turn the tank cap
counter-clockwise to unscrew it.

♦ Fill the tank with cool water. In hard areas, distilled
water should be used.
♦ Once the tank is full, replace the cap and tighten it
by turning it clockwise.
♦ When the cap is rmly secured, turn the water
tank back to its original position and slot it back
into the unit, ensuring it is rmly seated in the
corresponding notch.
♦ Once the water tank has been notched back into
place, water will begin to transfer from it into the
water reservoir inside the unit. Wait until the water
has nished emptying, then repeat the process as
many times as necessary until the water tank and
reservoir are full.
Note! Only ll the tank with pure water. DO NOT put
perfumes, air fresheners, disinfectants or essential
oils into the water tank or mix them into the water.
Using the Ice Packs
♦ This unit comes complete with an ice pack, which
you can use in conjunction with the water tank to
produce even cooler temperatures.
♦ To install the water tank, rst open the unit’s inner
cover by unscrewing it and pressing down on the
release catch. Once the cover has come loose,
pull it forward to remove it.
♦ Once the cover has been removed, take the lter
and ice pack out from inside the unit, as shown in
Fig. 1.
♦ Place the ice pack in the freezer until its contents
are frozen solid.
Note! Be careful not to overll the bottle, as water
expands when frozen. If necessary, leave the lid
loosely tightened after lling.
♦ Once the water is frozen, place the ice pack back
inside the unit and return the lter, inner cover
and water tank to their corresponding positions,
ensuring each one is rmly secured, as shown in
Fig. 2.
♦ The unit will now give off cooler air than before.

Cleaning and maintenance
WARNING: Before cleaning and maintenance,
switch the appliance off and remove the plug from
the socket, to prevent electric shock.
♦ Do not immerse any part of the appliance, power
cord or plug in liquids..
♦ Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the surface. Avoid
using detergent, spray or chemicals as these may
cause damage to the appliance.
WARNING: DO NOT allow water or steam to
enter any part of the appliance, as this could cause it
to malfunction.
♦ Store the appliance in a cool, dry place, ideally in
its original packaging.
Cleaning the Water Tank and Reservoir
♦ To clean the water tank, rst remove it from the
unit as instructed above. Then, unscrew the tank
cap and rinse the inside of the tank using clean
water. Once the tank has been rinsed, re-ll it with
clean water.
Note! It is recommended that you change the water
in the water tank daily to ensure freshness.
♦ To prevent lime-scale deposits from forming inside
the unit, or to remove existing ones, mix water
and white vinegar in equal quantities and use this
solution to clean the inside of the water tank and
reservoir.
Cleaning the Filter
♦ This air cooler comes equipped with a removable
lter. We recommend this lter be cleaned daily to
maintain optimum performance.
♦ To remove the lter, rst remove the water tank
from the unit as instructed in Fig. 1 of the ‘Using
the Ice Pack’ section above. Then, loosen the
screw keeping the inner cover of the unit in place,
and pull the cover out, as shown in the same
gure. Remove the lter from inside the unit and
rinse it under clean running water.
♦ Ensure the lter is fully dry before placing it back
into the unit.
Note! If the lter sustains damage of any kind,
replace it immediately.
Note! It is recommended that you clean the lter
daily to maintain optimum performance.
Mains plug replacement
WARNING: The following section on mains plug
replacement is for authorised service centre persons
only.
If a new mains plug needs to be tted:
♦ Safely dispose of the old plug.
♦ Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in the
new plug.
♦ Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
♦ If the product is class I (earthed), connect the
green/yellow lead to the earth terminal.
Note! If your product is class II double insulated
(only 2 wires in the cord set), no connection is to be
made to the earth terminal.
Follow the tting instructions supplied with good
quality plugs. Any replacement fuse must be of the
same rating as the original fuse supplied with the
product.
Protecting the environment
Separate collection. Products and
batteries marked with this symbol must
not be disposed of with normal household
waste.
Products and batteries contain materials that can
be recovered or recycled, reducing demand for
raw materials. Please recycle electrical products
and batteries according to local provisions. Further
