Receiving traffic information stations with RDS-EON
Many FM broadcasters provide their service
area with traffic messages at regular inter-
vals.
Alltraffic program stations transmit a special
telegram signal alongside their programs,
which your car radio can evaluate. If this
signal is identified, “TP” will appear in the
display (Traffic Program).
In addition to these, there are also stations
whichdonotactuallytransmittrafficinforma-
tionthemselves,suchasNDR3,butbyusing
RDS-EON they make it possible to receive
the traffic messages broadcast by another
traffic information station in the same radio
network.Ifyoulistentooneofthesestations,
“TP”willappearinthedisplay as soon asthe
priority for traffic information stations is acti-
vated, i.e. “TA” lights up.
If a traffic announcement is broadcast, the
radio will automatically switch to the linked
traffic information station (in this case,
NDR2) for the duration of the message and
return to the original program (NDR3) after-
wards.
Traffic announcement priority
on/off
If the priority for traffic announcements is
activated, “TA” will light up in the display.
