To adjust the volume:

2LD / AUD
LD - Loudness
When listening at a low level, the Loud-
ness function will create a more natural
sound by boosting the bass frequen-
cies.
To switch the Loudness on/off: Keep
the AUD button depressed until “LOUD
ON” or “LOUD OFF” is displayed and
you hear a beep.
Extra function:
To adjust the bass boost level.
AUD – Audio
To adjust the
BASS
TREBLE
BALANCE (left/right volume)
FADER (front/rear volume).
To alter a setting:
Briefly press AUD repeatedly until the
abbreviation of the desired mode and
the adjusted value appear in the dis-
play.
Use the buttons to alter the select-
ed setting. The new condition will be
indicated in the display. The last adjust-
ment will be stored automatically.
If the setting remains unchanged within
8 sec., the display will switch back to
the previous condition.
3MIX / lo
CD mode:
MIX - If “MIX” lights up in the display,
the CD titles will be played at random.
To switch on/off: Press button briefly
in the CD mode.
Radio mode:
To alter the seek tuning sensitivity.
“lo” lights up in the display - normal
seek tuning sensitivity. The system will
only pick up powerful nearby stations.
“lo” does not light up in the display -
high seek tuning sensitivity. The system
will also pick up weaker stations.
Manual seek tuning:
“m” lights up in the display - “AF” does
not light up in the display.
Use the buttons to change the
frequency in steps of 50 kHz.
Scrolling through the broadcasting net-
works:
“m” and “AF” light up in the display.
You can now use the buttons to
scroll through the broadcasting net-
works. If no further station of a network
can be received, the system will display
the next network.
To change over: Press the MIX / lo
button in the radio mode briefly.
Extra functions:
To adjust the seek tuning sensitivity
separately for local and distant re-
ception.
Stereo/mono switching:
Keep button depressed until “MONO”
or “STEREO” appears in the display
and you hear a beep.

To store a station: Press button during
radio operation and hold down until the
radio resumes play.
To recall a station:
WIEN RD 127:
Select the desired memory bank with
FMTand press the relevant preset but-
ton briefly.
SAN REMO RD 127:
Select the waveband with FMTor M•L.
On FM, choose the desired memory
bank with FMTand press the relevant
preset button briefly.
Extra function:
Coding: Read chapter “Anti-theft cod-
ing” first.
Buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 - To enter the four-
digit code.
Press each of the buttons repeatedly
until the code number given in the car
radio passport shows on the display
panel.
7M•L (only SAN REMO RD 127)
Toggle switch for medium- (MW) and
long-wave (LW) stations.
8TA (priority for traffic announcements)
When “TA” is displayed, the system will
play traffic stations only.
To switch TA on/off: Press the TA but-
ton.
Extra function:
To adjust the traffic message and
beep volume.
9FMT
To toggle the FM memory banks:
Press button repeatedly until the de-
sired memory bank (I, II, T) is dis-
played.
T - Travelstore
To store and recall the
six (WIEN RD 127)
five (SAN REMO RD 127)
most powerful stations of your current
reception area automatically.
To store with Travelstore:
Press FMTuntil the search starts in the
display. The system will store the sta-
tions automatically.
To recall a station stored with
Travelstore:
Press FMTuntil “T” is displayed. Then
briefly press one of the presets
1-6 (WIEN RD 127)
1-5 (SAN REMO RD 127).
4CD slot
Insert the disc with the label side facing
up. The system will automatically
switch from radio to CD operation.
5/ SRC
To eject the disc:
Hold button depressed until the disc is
ejected.
To switch between radio and CD op-
eration:
Press button briefly while a CD is in-
serted.
Extra function:
To switch the code-LED on and off.

(Alternative Frequency during RDS
operation)
When “AF” lights up in the display, the
radio will automatically search for a
frequency offering better reception of
the same RDS programme.
To switch AF on/off: Press AF briefly.
Extra function:
REG ON / REG OFF - With REG ON
the system will only switch to an alter-
native frequency if it belongs to a linked
station offering the same regional pro-
gramme (see “REG - regional pro-
gramme).

The face of this unit can be detached
for extra anti-theft protection. You
should take the detachable face with
you when leaving your car.
Detaching the face:
Press RELEASE.
Attaching the face:
Apply the left hand side of the face to
the chassis first with the CD slot facing
up and then gently push the right side
of the face against the front of the chas-
sis until it snaps into place.
=Station tuning – automatically, if “AF”
lights up in the dis-
play.
–manually, if “AF” is off
and “m” illuminated.
Switch over with MIX/lo,

Anti-theft coding
Security code
This car radio is supplied with inactive code
protection. In order to switch the security
coding system on, proceed as described in
the following.
Ifthecodingsystemisactivewhilethepower
supplytothesystemisinterrupted(e.g.theft,
disconnection of the car battery), the set will
be electronically blocked. In such a case it
canonlybemadeoperableagainbyentering
the correct code number given in the car
radio passport.
Entry of a wrong code number
Itshould not be possible for a thief to find out
the correct code number by trial and error.
Thisiswhythesetwillbeblockedforacertain
periodoftimeafterawrongcodenumberhas
been entered. The display will then show
“- - - -”.
After the first three unsuccessful attempts,
the system will lock for 10 sec.; after further
attempts, the waiting time extends to one
hour.
After 19 unsuccessful attempts, the display
will show “OFF”. In this case you can no
longer re-start the unit.
Important notes
Precautions
Before starting to use your new car radio,
please read the information on “Traffic safe-
ty” and “Anti-theft coding” carefully.
Traffic safety
Trafficsafetyalwayshasthehighest priority.
As the driver of a motor vehicle, it is your
responsibility to pay attention to the traffic
situationatalltimes.Neveruseyourcarradio
in a way that could distract you.
Please keep in mind that you travel a dis-
tance of 14 m per second at a speed of only
50 km/h.
Should the traffic situation become particu-
larlydemanding,weadviseyounottousethe
radio.
Always make sure that you are still able to
hear any warning signals coming from out-
side of the vehicle, such as police or fire
engine sirens, so that you can react accord-
ingly.
Therefore, you should always select a mod-
erate volume for playing your car radio while
you are driving.
Installation/Connection
Ifyouwouldliketoinstallyournewcarstereo
yourself or add other audio components to
existing ones, then please read carefully the
enclosedinstructionsoninstallationandcon-
nection.
Do not ground the loudspeaker outputs!
Use only the accessory and replacement
parts approved by Blaupunkt.

Re-start following an interrup-
tion of the power supply
(coding system is activated)
•Turn on the radio.
The display shows “CODE”.
•Briefly press preset button 1; the dis-
play shows “0000”.
•Enter the code number given in the
Blaupunkt car radio passport:
Example: The code number is 2521.
-Press preset button 1twice; the dis-
play shows “2000”.
-Press preset button 2five times; the
display shows “2500”.
-Press preset button 3twice; the dis-
play shows “2520”.
-Press preset button 4once; the dis-
play shows “2521”.
•To confirm the code number:
Press the rocker switch .
Ifyouhaveentered the correctcode,theunit
will now be ready for use.
However, if the display shows four dashes
again, you have entered a wrong number.
Re-enter the correct code after the waiting
time (“CODE” will appear in the display).
Ifyouswitchoffthesetwhileitisblocked,the
waitingtimewillstarttocountfromzeroagain
as soon as the radio is turned back on.
Switching off security coding
•Turn off the radio.
•Press preset buttons 1and 4simulta-
neously and hold down while switching
the set on again.
The display shows “CODE”.
•Release preset buttons 1and 4.
•Now enter the code number given in
the car radio passport and confirm (see
example under “Re-start ...”).
Security coding is now switched off.
Detachable face
(only San Remo RD 127)
This unit is equipped with a detachable face.
Youcanremovethecontrolface at a pushof
the RELEASE button.
Inordertopreventtheunitfrombeingstolen,
we recommend you to take the detachable
face with you when leaving your car.
Re-inserting the face is child’s play. The set
willbereadyforuseimmediatelyandyouwill
find all of your previous settings re-adjusted.
Notice:
Keep your car radio passport with the code
number in a safe place in order to avoid
“unauthorised access” to your car radio.
When the security code system is activated,
the unique code must be entered each time
the power supply was interrupted.
The radio will function again as soon as you
have entered the correct code.
If you have lost your radio passport and
forgotten the code number, your radio can
only be made operable again by one of our
authorised service workshops. This is a
chargeable service.
Switching on security coding
To activate the coding system:
•Turn off the radio.
•Press preset buttons 1and 4simulta-
neously and hold down while switching
the set on again. The display shows
“CODE”.
•Release preset buttons 1and 4.
• Now enter the code number to be found
in the car radio passport and confirm
(see example under “Re-start ...”).
Now the security coding system is active.
The display will briefly show “CODE” each
time the set is turned on.

Detaching the face
• Press RELEASE.
The unit will be switched off automatically.
Thecontrolpanelwillbereleasedinorderfor
you to remove it.
Store the face in a safe place, preventing
possible damages.
Attaching the face
•Apply the left hand side of the face to
the chassis first with the CD slot facing
up, and then
• gently push the right side of the face
against the front of the chassis until it
snaps into place.
Theunitisnowreadyforusewiththesettings
adjusted before removing the face.
Switching the code-LED on and off
(only WIEN RD 127)
To indicate that your unit is equipped with
security coding, the LED (the ring around
knob 1) can be switched to flash for extra
security when the car is stationary.
Condition: The function is switched on (LED
ON).
To switch on/off:
Turnontheradio(besurenoCDisinserted)
and
•hold down / SRC until “LED ON” or
“LED OFF” appears in the display and
you hear a beep.
Thesettingdisplayedwillbestoredautomat-
ically.

The Radio Data System offers you more
convenience when listening to FM radio sta-
tions.
More and more radio stations have begun to
broadcast RDS information alongside their
programmes.
Assoonasaprogrammehasbeenidentified,
the station name including a regional identi-
fier, if applicable, will appear in the display,
for example, NDR1 NDS (regional pro-
gramme in Lower Saxony, Germany).
When RDS is activated, the preset buttons
becomeprogrammebuttons.Younowknow
exactly which programme you have tuned
into,makingiteasytofindthedesiredstation
quickly.
But RDS offers you further advantages:
AF - Alternative frequency
The AF (Alternative Frequency) function
makes sure that the strongest frequency of
the currently selected programme is always
tuned in automatically.
Thisfunctionis activatedwhen“AF”appears
in the display.
In order to switch this function on or off,
•press the AF button briefly.
While searching for the strongest reception
signal, the radio will switch to mute briefly.
Radio operation with RDS (Radio Data System)
If “SEARCH” appears in the display when
switching on the radio or recalling one of the
stored frequencies, the unit is automatically
searching for an alternative frequency.
“SEARCH” will disappear from the display
when the alternative frequency has been
found or after the frequency band has been
run through completely.
If the reception quality of the selected pro-
gramme becomes too bad:
•Tune into another station.
REG - regional programme
Certain radio programmes are split up at
timesintoregionalprogrammesofferinglocal
information.
The 1st programme broadcast by NDR, for
example, offers programmes with different
contents in the northern states of Germany
Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Lower
Saxony at certain times of the day.
If you are listening to one regional pro-
grammeandmovetoanareawhereanother
linkedregionalprogrammebecomesstrong-
er, the unit will switch to that programme.
If you wish to continue listening to the first
programme,
•press the AF button for approximately
2sec.
“REG ON” appears in the display.
If you leave the service area of the regional
programme tuned into, or if you would like to
take advantage of the full RDS service,
switch to “REG OFF”.
•Press the AF button for approximately
2sec. until “REG OFF” appears.
The activated condition will be briefly dis-
played each time the radio is switched on.
Selecting a waveband
(only SAN REMO RD 127)
You can select between the following wave-
bands:
FM 87.5 - 108 MHz
MW 531 - 1602 kHz
LW 153 - 279 kHz
•Use the FMTor M•L button to activate
the desired waveband.
To toggle between MW and LW stations:
• Press M•L.

Station tuning
Automatic tuning
Condition: AF must be switched on!
• Press ; the car radio will automati-
cally search for the next station.
When keeping the left or right part of the
rocker switch depressed, seek tuning
willspeedupinupwardsordownwardsdirec-
tion.
Manual tuning with
Condition: AF must be switched off!
• Press MIX / lo to switch to “m” (lights
up in the display).
• Press ; the frequency will change in
short intervals in downwards or up-
wards direction.
When holding the left or right part of the
rockerswitchdepressed,thefrequencyscan
is speeded up.
Scrolling through the broadcast-
ing networks
You can use the buttons to tune in
stations of your reception area.
If several programmes of the broadcasting
network can be received, you can scroll
through them in forwards direction pressing
, or backwards using the button, e.g.
NDR 1, 2, 3, 4, N-JOY, FFN, ANTENNE ...
For this it is necessary that the stations have
beentunedinatleastonceandthat“AF”and
“m” are active (light up in the display).
For this purpose, you may start Travelstore
seek operation:
• Press TS for 2 sec.; the system starts
to run through the frequency band.
If “AF” does not light up,
• press AF.
If “m” does not light up,
• press MIX / lo.
This fulfils the requirements for selecting
stations with .
Selecting the seek tuning sensi-
tivity
You can alter the automatic seek tuning
sensitivity.
For this purpose,
• Press MIX / lo briefly.
If “lo” is displayed, the radio will only pick up
strong, local stations (normal sensitivity).
If“lo”doesnotlightup,theradiowillalsopick
upweaker,distantstations(highsensitivity).
When the display shows “m” and “AF” is
switchedoff,thenthe manualtuningmodeis
active.
Separate adjustment of the seek tuning
sensitivity for local and distant recep-
tion
Youcanseparatelyadjustthesensitivity lev-
els for local and distant reception.
a) Local reception
•Press the MIX / lo button to switch
to “lo” (lights up in the display).
• Keep MIX / lo depressed until “LO-
LEV” and the adjusted value appear
in the display (follows after “MONO”
or “STEREO”).
Use the buttons to alter the sensitivity
level.
1 = high sensitivity, 3 = normal sensitivity
The last adjustment will be stored automati-
cally.
If the setting remains unchanged within 8
sec.,the displaywillswitch back tothe previ-
ous condition.
Press MIX / lo to switch back immediately.
b) Distant reception “dx”
• Press MIX / lo to activate the “dx”
mode (“lo” disappears from the dis-
play).

• Keep MIX / lo depressed until “DX-
LEV” and the adjusted value appear
in the display.
The alter the setting proceed as
described under “a) Local recep-
tion”.
Changing the memory bank (FM)
YoucanshiftbetweenthememorybanksI,II
and T in order to store stations and recall
them later.
The currently selected memory bank is indi-
cated in the display.
•Press the FMTbutton repeatedly until
the desired memory bank lights up in
the display.
Storing stations
(WIEN RD 127)
On FM, you can store six stations on the
preset buttons 1-6 for each of the memory
banks I, II and T.
•Use the FMTbutton to select the de-
sired memory bank.
•Tune in a station with (either auto-
matically or manually).
•Press and hold down the desired preset
button until the radio resumes play after
the muting and your hear a beep.
Nowthestationhasbeenstored.Theactivat-
ed preset button is indicated in the display.
Storing stations
(SAN REMO RD 127)
On FM, you can store five stations on the
preset buttons 1-5 for each of the memory
banks I, II and T.
On MW/LW, you can also store five stations
each.
•Select the desired waveband with FMT
or M•L. On FM, choose the required
memory bank by pressing FMTrepeat-
edly.
•Tune in a station with (either auto-
matically or manually).
•Press and hold down the desired preset
button until the radio resumes play after
the muting and your hear a beep.
Nowthestationhasbeenstored.Theactivat-
ed preset button is indicated in the display.
Automatically storing the strong-
est stations with Travelstore
Youcanautomaticallystorethesix(WienRD
127) or five (San Remo RD 127) most pow-
erful FM stations of your current reception
area sorted according to their signal
strength.
This function is particularly convenient on
longer trips.
•Press the FMTbutton for approximately
2 sec.
The unit will search for the strongest FM
stationsandstorethem onthe memorybank
“T” (Travelstore). When this process has
been completed, the radio will play the first
station.
If desired, stations can also be stored manu-
ally on the Travelstore bank (see “Storing
stations”).
Recalling stored stations
You can recall any of the stored stations at
the touch of a button.
WIEN RD 127:
•Select the memory bank with
FM T .
Press
FM T repeatedly until the desired
bank appears in the display.
•Press the corresponding preset button
briefly to recall the station.
SAN REMO RD 127:
•Activate the waveband of your choice
by pressing
FM T or M•L. On FM, select
the memory bank with
FM T . Press FM T
repeatedly until the desired bank ap-
pears in the display.

Traffic announcement priority
on/off
If the priority for traffic announcement pro-
grammesis activated,“TA”will lightupin the
display.
To switch the priority on or off:
•Press the TA button.
Whenpressing TA whileamessage is being
broadcast, this message will be interrupted.
Theunit will then switch back to the previous
condition. The priority for all other traffic
messages remains active.
Beep tone
If you leave the reception area of the traffic
programme station currently tuned into, you
will hear a beep tone after approximately 30
sec.
Thistonewillalsobereleasedwhenpressing
a preset button which has no traffic pro-
gramme allocated to it.
Receiving traffic programme stations with RDS-EON
•Press the corresponding preset button
briefly to recall the station.
Switching from stereo to mono
(FM)
Ifreceptionispoor,youmaygetbettersound
quality by switching to mono:
•Hold down the MIX / lo button until the
display shows “MONO” or “STEREO”.
For mono playback, the stereo sign
will disappear from the display.
Each time the radio is switched on, it is
automatically adjusted for stereo playback.
The unit will automatically switch to mono if
the received signal is not strong enough for
stereo playback.
The abbreviation “EON” stands for En-
hanced Other Networks, meaning the ex-
changeofinformationwithinaradionetwork.
Many FM broadcasters offer traffic messag-
es for their service area at regular intervals.
Alltrafficprogrammestationstransmitaspe-
cial carrier signal alongside their pro-
grammes, which is decoded by your car
radio. If this signal is identified, “TP” will
appear in the display (Traffic Programme).
In addition to these, there are also stations
which do not actually transmit traffic pro-
grammes themselves, but by using RDS-
EON they offer the possibility to receive the
trafficmessagesbroadcastbyanothertraffic
programme station in the same radio net-
work.
If you listen to one of these stations (e.g.
NDR3), “TP” will appear in the display as
soon as the priority for traffic information
stationsisactivated,i.e.“TA”mustlightupas
well.
If a traffic announcement is broadcast, the
radio will automatically switch to the linked
traffic programme station (in this case,
NDR2) for the duration of the message and
return to the original programme (NDR3)
afterwards.

CD operation
Inserting a CD
•Switch on the radio.
•Insert a CD with the label facing up
without the use of force.
The CD will be transported to its playing
position automatically. CD playback will
start.
Removing a CD
•Press the / SRC button for more than
2 sec. The CD will be ejected.
To protect the CD mechanism, do not impair
or try to help the automatic insertion and
ejection of the disc in any way.
Selecting a title
After having inserted the CD, the activated
CD functions will appear on the display pan-
el. Use to select the title of your choice:
•: To skip titles.
: To repeat titles.
When pressing the button only once, CD
playback will start at the beginning of the
currently played track.
Youcanusetherockerswitchtoskipseveral
tracks at a time by pressing the relevant
button repeatedly.
Adjusting the volume for traffic

Thisvolumewaspresetatthefactory,though
you can alter the value by proceeding as
follows:
•Adjust the volume to the same level
that you wish to be used for playback of
the traffic announcements.
• Then keep the TA button depressed
until “TA-VOL” appears in the display.
This volume has now been stored for all
further traffic messages.
•Hold down the TA button until “BEEP”
appears in the display.
• Use to adjust the desired beep
tone level.
The beep tone will sound with the adjusted
intensity, allowing you to check your setting.
The last adjustment will be stored automati-
cally.
Switching off the beep tone
a) Tune into another station offering traffic
information:
•Press or
•press a preset button which has a
traffic programme station allocated
to it.
Alternatively:
b) Switch off the priority for traffic an-
nouncements:
• Press TA.
“TA” will disappear from the display.
Automatic seek tuning start
(CD operation)
Whenleavingthereceptionareaofthetuned
intrafficprogramme stationwhilelisteningto
a CD, the system will automatically start
searching for a new TA programme.
If no such station is found within approxi-
mately30 sec.,CD operationwill bestopped
and a beep tone will sound. To switch off the
beep proceed as described above.

Beside the letter “T” (standing for “Track”),
the track number of the currently selected
title will appear in the display.
Fast forward (cue):
•Keep the rocker button depressed.
Fast backward (review):
•Keep the rocker button depressed.
Mix playback
When the Mix function is activated, all CD
titleswillbeplayedatrandom.“MIX”lightsup
in the display.
Ifyoudonotlikeanyoftheplayedtitles,press
to skip.
To switch the Mix function on/off:
• Press MIX / lo.
Changing the audio source with
SRC (source)
Use this button to switch between radio and
CDoperation.TheCDmodeisonlyavailable
if a disc is inserted.
To switch over:
• Press / SRC briefly.
The Loudness function
When listening at a low level, the human ear
islesssensitiveto thebass frequenciesthan
to the treble frequency range.
TheLoudness functioncompensates forthis
effect by boosting the low frequencies at
reduced volume levels.
Since the individual sensation of sound is
influencedbythetypeofsystemused(ampli-
fier), the location and type of the loudspeak-
ers employed as well as by the vehicle itself,
the Loudness threshold and the boost level
can be individually adjusted.
The bass boost level was adjusted at the
factorysuch that a natural sound impression
is obtained over a wide frequency range.
However, you can also alter the Loudness
setting. In this case, proceed as follows:
•Hold down the LD/AUD button until
“LD-LEV 4” and the adjusted value ap-
pear in the display (following “LOUD
ON” / “LOUD OFF”).
• Use the buttons to adjust the bass
boost level. “1” corresponds to the low-
est, “6” to the highest efficiency level.
The last adjustment will be stored automati-
cally.
If the setting remains unchanged within 8
sec.,the displaywillswitch back tothe previ-
ous condition.
