BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS
Before you start building and decorating your model, make a plan. Do you want to make
a replica or create something of your own design? Anything goes!
MAKE IT YOUR OWN
Use dierent shades of red,
orange, brown, purple, gold,
and gray to add depth with
shading. Remember you can
always add white to a color
to make it lighter or black to
make it darker.
For some of the very fine
detail, you may want to use a
fine-point pen in the color of
your choosing.

To find your first two pieces, look for pieces 1 and 2 on the
board. Pop out only these puzzle pieces from the board.
The thin chain
on the top
of piece 5 is
delicate, so be
gentle punching
it out.
To put the
two pieces
together,
match up the
slots on each
piece. Slide
together.
Continue
assembling by
putting pieces
together in
numerical
order.

to the back of
the model.
• Go through the instructions one step at a time.
• Don’t punch out all of the pre-cut parts at once.
• Plywood thickness and color may vary.
• While not necessary, glue may be applied if desired.
• If you have trouble punching out the small pieces from
the board, use tweezers or a toothpick to help.
• Adult supervision recommended.
READ BEFORE ASSEMBLING:
For this project, you will want
to paint the engraved pieces
separately before assembling.
Study the photo of the painted
model and images of the actual
crest carefully. Pay attention
to where the shading is added.
TECHNIQUES
Use the smallest paintbrush you
can find, and take your time. Paint
the flat, engraved pieces first.
Let dry and then assemble. You
can paint the other pieces once
assembled.
