You must provide propane gas and propane cylinder. Use a standard 20lb.
propane cylinder only.
Use t is eater only wit a propane vapor wit drawal supply system. See
C apter 5 of t e Standard for Storage and Handling of Liquefied Petroleum
Gas, ANSI/NFPA 58.Your local library or fire department will ave t is book.
Maximum supply pressure of 250 psi. A minimum supply pressure of 11.0
W.C. is required for t e purpose of input adjustment for propane gas.
T e pressure regulator and ose assembly supplied wit t e appliance must be used.
T e installation must conform wit local codes, or in t e absence of local codes, wit
National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/ NFPA 54, Natural & Propane installation code,
CSA B149.1 as applicable.
A dented, rusted or damaged propane cylinder may be azardous and s ould be
c ecked by your cylinder supplier. Never use a propane cylinder wit a damaged valve
connection.
T e propane cylinder must be constructed and marked in accordance wit t e
specifications for LP gas cylinders of t e U.S. Department of transportation (DOT) or
t e Standard for Cylinders Sp eres &Tubes for transportation of Dangerous Goods &
Commission, CAN/CSA-B339, as applicable.
Never connect an unregulated propane cylinder to t e eater.
Provided wit a listed overfilling prevention device.
Provided wit a cylinder connection device compatible wit t e connection for t e
appliance.
Do not store a s are LP-Gas cylinder under or near t is appliance.
Place t e dust cap on t e cylinder valve outlet w en ever t e cylinder is not in use.
Only install t e type of dust cap on t e cylinder valve is provided wit t e cylinder
valve.

part of metal stand clockwise to secure t e

Your Patio Heater as been c ecked at all factory
connections for leaks. To c eck t e connection of
t e regulator/cylinder: S Figur 15
Make leak solution by mixing 1 part liquid dis
soap and 3 parts water.
Brus several drops (or use spray bottle) of
t e solution onto t e gas ose/regulator and
regulator/cylinder connection.
Turn on gas. Inspect t e connections and look
for bubbles.
If no bubbles appear, t e connection is safe.
If bubbles appear, t ere is a leak, loosen and
re-tig ten t is connection.

SERIOUSLY DAMAGED.
T is eater is primarily used for t e eating
of outdoor patios, decks, and pool and spa
areas. Always make sure t at adequate
fres air ventilation is provided. Follow t e
spacing tolerances s own in Figur 16.
T e minimum clearances, s own in Figure
1, must be maintained at all times.
T is eater must be placed on firm level
ground.
Never operate in an explosive atmosp ere.
Keep away from areas w ere gasoline or
ot er flammable liquids or vapors are
stored or used.

B for Turning Gas Supply ON
Your eater was designed and approved for OUTDOOR USE ONLY. DO NOT use it inside a building, or any
ot er enclosed area. Make sure surrounding areas are free of combustible materials, gasoline and ot er
flammable vapors or liquids. Ensure t at t ere is no obstruction to air ventilation. Be sure all gas connections are
tig t and t ere are no leaks. Be sure t e access panel is clear of debris. Be sure any component removed during
assembly or servicing is replaced and fastened prior to starting.
B for Lighting
Heater s ould be t oroug ly inspected before eac use and by a qualified service person at least annually. If
relig ting, always wait at least 5 minutes.

W en lit for t e first time t e eater may emit a slig t odor and smoke. T is is a normal temporary condition
caused by t e burn in of paints and lubricants used in t e manufacturing process and will not occur again.
Simply run t e eater on ig for 30 minutes.
Emitter screen will become brig t red due to intense eat. T e color is more visible at nig t. Burner will
display tongues of blue flame. T ese flames s ould not be yellow or produce t ick black smoke, indicating an
obstruction of airflow t roug t e burners.

Not :
Wait until eater is cool before covering.
W en eater is not in use for a prolonged period of time, remove gas cylinder.
Verify t at t e gas cylinder valve is closed tig tly.
Do not store t e gas cylinder indoors, store gas cylinder in a well ventilated area.
Storag
To obtain t e best performance from your eater make sure you perform t e following
maintenance activities on a regular basis:
Keep exterior surfaces clean. Use warm soapy water for cleaning. Never use flammable
or corrosive cleaning agents. Be sure to keep t e area around t e burner and control
assembly dry at all times.
Keeping t e ventilation openings of t e cylinder enclosure free and clear from debris.
Visually c ecking burner flames wit pictorial representations
s own on page 11.
Airflow must be unobstructed. Clear insect nests or webs away from your eater’s
exterior and interior using a straig t piece of wire and wire brus or vacuum cleaner at
least once a year or immediately upon indication of any of t e following systems:
a. Flas back
b. Smell t e fuel gas
c. Predominate yellow flames
d. Excessive popping noises during operation
e. Uneven emitter glow
Carbon deposits may create a fire azard. Clean dome and emitter wit warm soapy Water if
necessary.
Caution:
Never use wood or plastic, it may break and block t e parts.
Never spray any cleaning product on t e emitter grid or burner area.

Warning:
Use our original equipment replaced parts only. Use unaut orized parts or
modification of parts can void warranty and create an unsafe condition.

A azardous condition may result if a eater is used t at as been modified or is not
functioning properly. W en t e eater is working properly:
T e flame is contained wit in t e eater.
T e flame is essentially blue.
T ere is no strong disagreeable odor, eye burning or ot er p ysical discomfort.
T ere is no smoke or soot internal or external to t e eater.
T ere is no unplanned or unexplained s utdown of t e eater.
T ere is no Flas back.
T ere are no excessive popping noises during operation.
T ere is no diminis ed and uneven emitter glow.
T e parts list s ows t e eater as it was constructed. Do not use a eater, w ic is different
from t at s own. In t is regard, only t e cylinder connections and regulator supplied wit t e
eater. Do not use alternative parts. For t is eater t e regulator is set for 11.0” water
column outlet pressure. If t ere is any uncertainty about t e regulator setting, ave it
c ecked. A eater t at is not working properly must be repaired, but only by a trained,
experienced service person.
If your eater needs maintenance or is not working properly, please contact your local
aut orized agent for service. It is a necessity to contact an aut orized source for
replacement of parts and/or ot er servicing.
