1 Vorwort
Diese Betriebsanleitung muss vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme vom Bedienpersonal
gelesen werden.
Schäden, die durch die Nichtbeachtung der darin enthaltenen Hinweise entstehen,
werden durch die Garantie nicht abgedeckt. Der Verwender des Gerätes ist gesetzlich
verpflichtet, die Unfallvorschriften für das betreffende Land zu beachten.
Des Weiteren ist die Betriebsanleitung vertraulich zu behandeln. Sie darf nur befugten
Personen zugänglich gemacht werden. Eine Überlassung an Dritte darf nur mit
schriftlicher Zustimmung der Fa. WINTERSTEIGER erfolgen.
Alle Unterlagen sind im Sinne des Urheberrechtes geschützt. Die Weitergabe und 
Vervielfältigung von Unterlagen, auch auszugsweise, sowie eine Verwertung und
Mitteilung ihres Inhaltes sind nicht gestattet, soweit nicht ausdrücklich schriftlich
zugestanden.
Zuwiderhandlungen sind strafbar und verpflichten zu Schadensersatz. Alle Rechte zur

1.1 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Gerät (BD CMT) dient der Anpassung von BOOT-DOC Einlagen, die den
anatomischen Eigenschaften des Fußes entsprechen. Jeder darüber hinausgehende
Gebrauch gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß. Der Hersteller haftet nicht für daraus
resultierende Schäden. Das Risiko hierfür trägt allein der Benutzer.
Eigenmächtige Veränderungen am Gerät schließen eine Haftung des Herstellers für 
daraus resultierende Schäden aus.
Wir sind stets bemüht, unsere Erzeugnisse zu verbessern und behalten uns darum das
Recht vor, alle Änderungen und Verbesserungen anzubringen, die wir für zweckmäßig
halten. Damit ist keine Verpflichtung verbunden, diese auf früher gelieferte Geräte 
auszudehnen.
Alle Abbildungen, Maße und Gewichtsangaben in der Bedienungsanleitung sind nicht
verbindlich.

Dieser Warnhinweis weist auf eine mögliche Beschädigung oder Zerstörung des
Produktes, Prozesses und/oder deren Umfeld hin.
Hier steht ein besonderer Hinweis zur praktischen Arbeit bzw. eine allgemeine

2 Allgemeine Hinweise
2.1 Sicherheitsvorschriften
2.1.1 Grundsätze zur Sicherheit
Das Gerät ist nach dem Stand der Technik und den anerkannten sicherheitstechnischen
Regeln gebaut. Dennoch können bei der Verwendung Gefahren für den Benutzer oder
Dritte bzw. Schäden am Gerät und anderen Sachwerten entstehen, wenn dieses:
von nicht geschultem oder nicht eingewiesenem Personal bedient wird,
nicht bestimmungsgemäß eingesetzt wird,
unsachgemäß instandgehalten oder gewartet wird.
2.1.2 Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
Die Verwendung des Gerätes ist nur in Innenräumen gestattet.
Das Gerät darf nur mit original WINTERSTEIGER Ersatzteilen bzw. Verbrauchs-
material betrieben werden. Das Verwenden von Fremdmaterial geschieht auf eige-
ne Gefahr und Verantwortung des Betreibers, die Garantie für das Gerät erlischt 
dadurch!
2.1.3 Sicherheitshinweise für den Betreiber (Eigentümer)
Setzen Sie nur geschultes oder unterwiesenes Personal ein. Legen Sie klare 
Zuständigkeiten des Bedienpersonals für das Bedienen, Warten und Instandsetzen
fest!
Der Betreiber/Bediener des Gerätes darf keine Veränderungen, An- oder Umbauten
am Gerät, die die Sicherheit beeinträchtigen könnten, ohne Genehmigung der 
Fa. WINTERSTEIGER vornehmen!
2.1.4 Sicherheitshinweise für das Bedienpersonal
Das Gerät darf nur in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand sowie bestimmungsgemäß,
sicherheits- und gefahrenbewusst unter Beachtung der Betriebsanleitung 
verwendet werden! Beseitigen Sie umgehend Störungen, welche die Sicherheit 
beeinträchtigen können!
2.1.5 Sicherheitshinweise zum Betrieb
Das Gerät darf nur von geschulten Personen verwendet werden.
Das Gerät darf nur im zusammengebauten und betriebsfertigen Zustand in Betrieb
genommen werden.

5.1 Transport
Prüfen Sie das Gerät auf Transportschäden.
Teilen Sie eventuelle Schäden unverzüglich dem Spediteur bzw. Hersteller mit!
5.2 Aufstellung
Das Gerät muss auf einem festen Untergrund gestellt werden, welcher auch Tem-
peraturen bis zu 70°C standhält.

6 Hinweise und Informationen
Das BD CMT ist nur für die Verwendung mit BOOT-DOC Einlagen vorgesehen. Die
Verwendung mit anderen Einlagen kann zu dauerhaften Schäden an den 
Formkissen führen und somit erlischt die Garantie.
BOOT-DOC Einlagen sind aus thermoformbaren, hochwertigen Materialien herge-
stellt. BOOT-DOC Einlagen sollten mit BOOT-DOC Heizgeräten auf die empfohle-
nen Temperaturen (siehe BOOT-DOC Website oder Katalog) erwärmt werden. Um
Beschädigungen der Formkissen und/oder Einlagen zu vermeiden, wärmen Sie 
niemals die Einlagen über die empfohlene Temperatur hinaus!
Öffnen Sie nicht die Formkissen, da dies zu dauerhaften Beschädigungen und
Undichtheiten führen kann!
Benutzen Sie keine scharfen Gegenstände ( wie z.B. Stifte, scharfe Fingernägel,
Messer...) auf oder in der Nähe der Formkissen.
Das BD CMT ist kein Spielzeug! Lassen Sie Ihr Gerät nicht dort, wo Kunden oder
Kinder mit ihm spielen können.
7 Verwendung und Handhabung des BD CMT
7.1 Vorbereitung des BD CMT
Bevor Sie mit der Verwendung des BD CMT
beginnen, stellen Sie sicher, dass das BD-
Wachs gleichmäßig in den Formkissen verteilt
ist.
1) Die Füße des Kunden in den Formkissen so 
positionieren, dass die Fersenkappe bündig mit
der Ferse abschließt. 
Den Vorfuß-Zehenbereich optimal in den Form-
kissen eindrücken und festhalten.
2) Die Formkissen entsprechend der Hüftbreite
des Kunden positionieren. Das beste Ergebnis
wird erzielt, wenn Knie, Sprunggelenk und 2-ter
Zehe in einer Lotlinie ausgerichtet sind.

Positionieren Sie die Formkissen und
den Kunden so, um einen Winkel von
jeweils 90° zwischen Hüfte, Knie und
Sprunggelenk zu erreichen.
3) Stellen Sie sicher, dass das BD-Wachs mit der
Fußform des Fußes übereinstimmt, indem Sie
das Wachs manuell bewegen, um Hohlräume
unter dem Fußgewölbe und um die Ferse zu
füllen.
Achten Sie auf folgende Punkte:
1) Dass, das CMT nur im Sitzen verwendet wird
und der Kunde nicht aufsteht!
2) Dass, das BD Wachs die Füße umschließt und
die gesamte Unterseite berührt!
3) Dass, sich der linke und rechte Fuß ähnlich 
anfühlen und keine Druckstellen von unten 
vorliegen!
7.2 Hinweis zu den Einlagetypen und Fußformen
Low Arch
Bei extrem flachem Fußgewölbe kann es erforderlich sein, den Fuß herauszunehmen
und das BD-Wachs manuell zu glätten und erneut zu beginnen.
High Arch
Bei hohem Fußgewölbe kann es notwendig sein, dass BD-Wachs punktuell angehäuft
werden muss.
7.3 Anpassungsvorgang
Die BD-Einlagen sollten auf empfohlene Temperaturen erhitzt werden
(siehe BD-Website oder Katalog). Verwenden Sie geeignete Heizgeräte,
die von BOOT-DOC angeboten werden.

1) Bitten Sie Ihren Kunden, die Füße heraus zu
nehmen. Anschließend sprühen Sie Silikon-
Spray auf die Formkissen, um leichte 
Entformung der Einlagen zu gewährleisten. 
Legen Sie die Einlage in das Formkissen.
Achten Sie auf die richtige Position!
2) Setzen Sie den Fuß des Kunden sorgfältig auf
die Einlage. Beginnen Sie mit der Ferse und
richten Sie den Vorderfuß so aus, dass er auf
der Einlage zentriert ist.
Während des gesamten Prozesses soll
der Kunde sitzen bleiben.
3) Überprüfen Sie, dass der Fuß, der Knöchel und
das Knie in einer ausgerichteten und neutralen
Position bleibt.
4) Warten Sie für 3 bis 5 Minuten und überprüfen
Sie, ob die Einlagen ausreichend abgekühlt
sind, so dass sie von den Formkissen entfernt
werden können.
BD 3D Einlegesohlen können längere
Abkühlzeiten als BD Step In Einlege-
sohlen erfordern. 
Die Gesamtkühlzeit kann durch Verwen-
dung eines Cool Sprays oder Cool
Packs reduziert werden.
5) Überprüfen Sie die Einlagen vorsichtig, indem
Sie sie vorsichtig nach oben ziehen.
Sobald die Einlagen ausgekühlt sind, ent-
nehmen Sie sie sorgfältig aus den Formkissen
und schneiden Sie die Einlagen bei Bedarf 
weiter zu. 
Jetzt kann auch die weitere Verarbeitung mit
Versteifungselementen, Arch Posts oder Fer-
senkappen erfolgen.

1 Foreword
Operating personnel must read this operating manual before initial use.
Damage caused by failure to follow the instructions in the manual is not covered by the
warranty. The user of this device is legally bound to observe the accident prevention
regulations of the country in question.
Furthermore, this operating manual must be treated confidentially. Only authorized
persons shall be allowed access to it. Do not pass the manual on to third parties without
written permission from WINTERSTEIGER.
All documents are protected under copyright. Distribution, reproduction and utilization of
documents and parts thereof, as well as disclosure of their contents, are not permitted
unless authorized expressly in writing.
Infringements are liable to prosecution and will result in claims for compensation. 
WINTERSTEIGER retains all rights to exercise industrial property rights.
1.1 Appropriate usage
The device (BD CMT) is used for forming heated BOOT-DOC insoles to match the
anatomical features of the foot. Any other use is deemed inappropriate. The
manufacturer shall not be liable for damage occurring from inappropriate use. The user
takes sole responsibility in such cases.
Any unauthorized modifications to the device void the manufacturer's liability and
disqualifies any claims for damages.
We constantly try to improve our products and therefore reserve the right to make any
changes or improvements we feel are appropriate. This does not constitute any obligation
to extend these changes or improvements to devices already supplied.
All images, dimensions and weight information in the operating manual are non-binding.

2.1 Safety information
2.1.1 Basic safety principles
This device is built in line with the state-of-the-art and accepted safety regulations. 
However, dangers for the user or third parties as well as damage to the device and other
objects can occur if it:
is used by untrained or unauthorized personnel
is put to unintended use,
is not properly maintained or serviced.
2.1.2 General safety instructions
The device may only be used indoors!
The device must only be repaired and used with original WINTERSTEIGER spare
parts/consumables.
2.1.3 Safety instructions for the operator (owner)
Only use trained or instructed personnel. Clearly assign persons responsible for
operating, setting up, maintaining and servicing!
The owner/operator of the device must not make any changes, additions or modifi-
cations to the device that could affect its safety without authorization from WINTER-
STEIGER.
2.1.4 Safety instructions for operating staff
The device may only be used if it is in good working order, used for its intended pur-
pose, taking the safety instructions and potential risks into consideration after rea-
ding the operating instructions! Faults which could affect safety shall be repaired
immediately.
2.1.5 Safety instructions for operation
The device may only be operated by trained personnel.
Assemble the device and prepare it for operation before operating.

5.1 Transport
Inspect the CMT immediately after unpacking for any damage that may have occur-
red during transit.
Inform possible damages immediately to the manufacturer!
5.2 Setting up the device
The device must be put on a firm surface which can also withstand temperatures up
to 70°C.

6 Application
The BD CMT is designed for use with BOOT-DOC brand insoles only. Use with any
other insoles may result in permanent damage to your molding pillows and will void
your warranty.
BOOT-DOC insoles are made from thermo-moldable high quality materials. BOOT-
DOC insoles should be heated to recommended temperatures (refer to BOOT-DOC
Website or catalogue) with BOOT-DOC Heating Devices. Never heat insoles above
recommended temperature or you may damage the molding pillows and/or insoles.
Do not attempt to open the molding pillows since it might cause permanent damage
and leaking. Any attempt to open the CMT box without authorization will void your
warranty.
Do not use any sharp implements on or near the molding pillows such as pens,
sharp fingernails, knives, etc.
The CMT is not a toy! Do not leave your molding system where customers or 
children can play with it.
7 Casting with the BD CMT
Before you start to use the BD CMT make sure
the BD Wax is evenly distributed within the 
molding pillows.
1) Place the customer´s feet into the molding
pillows by holding the forefoot firmly and sliding
the heel into the back of the pillows heel pocket.
The forefoot should be allowed to fall naturally
in the general footprint area.
2) Position the molding pillows according to 
customer’s hip width. The key is to align the
center of the knee thru ankle joint and the foot´s
second toe.

Position molding pillows and customer
to reach 90 – 90 – 90 angles of the hip,
knee, and ankle.
3) Ensure that the BD Wax matches the bottom
shape of the foot by manually moving the wax
to fill voids beneath the arch or around the heel.
Pay attention the following points:
1) Don’t stand in the CMT. Foot casting takes
place almost un-weighted.
2) The BD Wax will follow the bottom shape of the
foot and make contact along the entire undersi-
de of the foot, but it should not push excessively
against the foot.
3) Both left and right feet should feel similar to the
customer.
7.1 Note for Arch type
Low arch
Extremely flat feet might require remove the foot and manually smooth the BD wax in the
arch area and begin again.
High arch
High Arches may need much BD wax benath them.
Higher arches may require that you push BD Wax into the void space below the arch.

7.2 Heat BD insoles
1) Ask your customer to remove their feet. Use Si-
licone spray on the molding pillows to ensure
easy removal of the shaped insoles. Lay the in-
sole into the molding pillow where the custo-
mer´s foot was.
Pay attention to proper position!
2) Carefully place your customer´s foot onto the in-
soles. Start with the heel and align the forefoot
so that it is centered on the insole.
During the whole process the customer
is to remain seated.
3) Double check that the foot, ankle and knee re-
mains in an aligned and neutral position.
4) Wait for 3 to 5 minutes and check if the insoles
are cooled sufficiently so they can be removed
from the molding pillows.
BD 3D insoles may require longer coo-
ling times than BD Step In insoles. 
Total cooling time can be reduced by
using a Cool Spray or Cool packs.
5) Check the blank for rigidity by gently pulling up.
Once the insoles are stiff enough, remove them
carefully out of the molding pillow and finish
them by trimming or adding posting or refost-
abs.

Ce manuel de service doit être lu par les utilisateurs avant la première mise en service.
Tout dommage résultant du non-respect des consignes contenues dans le manuel n’est
pas couvert par la garantie. L’utilisateur de l’appareil est légalement tenu de suivre la
réglementation locale en matière de prévention des accidents.
De plus, le manuel de service doit être traité de manière confidentielle. Il doit uniquement
être rendu accessible aux personnes dûment autorisées. La transmission à des tiers

pour les dommages résultant d’une telle utilisation. Seul l’utilisateur en supporte les
risques.

2 Remarques générales
2.1 Consignes de sécurité
2.1.1 Principes de sécurité
L’appareil est construit selon l’état actuel de la technique et les règles techniques
reconnues en matière de sécurité. Cependant, son utilisation est susceptible de mettre
en danger la sécurité de l’exploitant ou de tiers, ou d’infliger des dommages à l’appareil
ou à d’autres objets de valeur si:
l’appareil est utilisé par du personnel non qualifié ou non préalablement instruit,
l’appareil est utilisé de façon non conforme,
l’entretien ou la maintenance sont effectués de façon incorrecte.
2.1.2 Consignes générales de sécurité
L’utilisation de l’appareil est uniquement autorisée à l’intérieur.
L’appareil doit uniquement fonctionner avec des pièces de rechange ou bien des
consommables WINTERSTEIGER. L’utilisation de matériaux étrangers s’effectue
aux risques et périls de l’exploitant, ceci aurait pour effet d’annuler la garantie de
l’appareil !
2.1.3 Consignes de sécurité pour l’exploitant (propriétaire)
Ne faites intervenir que du personnel qualifié ou instruit. Définissez clairement les
responsabilités des utilisateurs pour l’utilisation, la maintenance et la réparation !
L’exploitant/l’utilisateur de l’appareil ne doit pas effectuer de modification, d'ajout ou
de transformation susceptible d'affecter la sécurité, sans l'autorisation de l'entrepri-
se WINTERSTEIGER !
2.1.4 Consigne de sécurité pour les utilisateurs
L'appareil doit uniquement être utilisé dans un état technique irréprochable ainsi que
conformément aux prescriptions, en pleine connaissance des règles de sécurité et
des risques encourus, tout en respectant le manuel de service ! Éliminez immédi-
atement tout dysfonctionnement susceptible d'entraver la sécurité !
2.1.5 Consignes de sécurité pour le fonctionnement
L'appareil ne doit être utilisé que par des personnes formées.
L'appareil doit uniquement fonctionner s'il est assemblé et prêt à fonctionner.

5.1 Transport
Vérifiez que l'appareil n'a subi aucun dommage.
Signalez d'éventuels dommages sans attendre au transporteur ou bien au fabricant!

L'appareil doit être placé sur un support stable qui résiste également aux tempéra-
tures allant jusqu'à 70 °C.
