Multicom BMC-3G GPRS Module
with Solution 2000 & 3000
There are 14 steps in this Multicom BMC-3G
Installation Guide. Please ensure you complete
each step in order.
The Multicom BMC-3G module is designed to provide GPRS Base Station reporting.
It connects directly to the panel on the SDI-2 Bus.
There are 14 steps that an Installer will need to follow to set up the panel and the GPRS unit.
The following is from the Multicom BMC-3G Installation Guide.
An overview of the basic hardware installation
steps. The full Multicom manual is available

1Mount the Panel
The BMC-3G fits into any standard alarm
panel housing.
Mounting or
placement inside the
existing alarm panel
housing requires the
provided fly lead to
be attached and the
included antenna to
be mounted to the
top of the panel.
Note: If the BMC-3G is being installed in a poor
signal area, please consider using a high-gain
antenna available from your Multicom supplier.

2Connect to the Bosch Panel
The BMC-3G connects directly to the Bosch
panel as shown in the following wiring diagram.
If the 12V auxiliary power output is unable to
supply the required 200mA, connect to a fixed
12V DC power supply (>200mA).
Note that TOTAL CURRENT DRAW on the
SDI-2 bus is 900mA MAX including
Codepads and existing SDI-2 modules.
Introduction Connect the Multicom BMC-3G
A) When the Multicom BMC-3G is first connected to
the Bosch Alarm panel bus and powered up, it will
attempt to program the settings required for correct
alarm communications (RSC password / Installer
code must match). This is done automatically using
the same method as a direct connection (DLA USB
Serial) and A Link.
3Auto programming/Configuration (Solution 3000)
B) If auto programming fails due to
mismatch RSC password/installer code.
Then you can re-initiate auto-programming
by removing the Add jumper, wait 5
seconds, then replace.
For correct operation of the entire
system the RSC password (722) and
Installer Code (21) must be programmed
via TechTools to allow the Multicom
access to the 3000-series SDI-2 Bus.
