1. Power down the EX-1280C
2. Power the EX-1280C
3. Wait until you see the splash screen (EX-1280C and Bose logo) on the front panel
of the EX-1280C:
4. Repeatedly press the rotary knob until the restore-defaults recovery menu is
shown:
5. After a 2 seconds delay, turn the rotary knob to select an option:
oDefault design file
oDefault network settings (CS only)
oDefault design and network settings
oExit with no change
6. For the first 3 options you will be asked to confirm your choice. Turn to rotary knob
to select Yes or No, then press the rotary knob.
If you select No, you will be returned to the previous menu.

7. If you choose to restore the default design file, and confirm Yes, you see this
screen for 2 seconds, then will continue on to boot:
8. If you choose to restore the default Network settings (DHCP for the ControlSpace
RJ45 port), you will see this screen, and the unit will reboot.
9. If you choose “exit with no change” you will see this screen for 2 seconds, then
the unit will continue on and boot normally.
After restoring the design file and / or network settings, check the network settings of
your design and/or network settings in CSD.
