5. Do not use this apparatus near water or moisture – Do not use this
product near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet
basement, near a swimming pool, or anywhere else that water or moisture
are present.
6. Clean only with a dry cloth – and as directed by Bose Corporation. Unplug
this product from the wall outlet before cleaning.
7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions – To ensure reliable operation of the product
and to protect it from overheating, put the product in a position and location
that will not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example, do not place
the product on a bed, sofa, or similar surface that may block the ventilation
openings. Do not put it in a built-in system, such as a bookcase or a cabinet,
that may keep air from flowing through its ventilation openings.
8. Do not install near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers,
stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type
plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A
grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wider
blade or third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does
not fit in your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete
outlet.
10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at
plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the
apparatus.
11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long
periods of time – to prevent damage to this product.

Please take the time to follow the instructions in this owner’s guide carefully. It
will help you set up and operate your system properly and enjoy all of its
advanced features. Please save this owner’s guide for future reference.
WARNING: T o reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not expose the product to
rain or moisture.
WARNING: The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing, and objects
filled with liquids, such as vases, shall not be placed on the apparatus. As with any
electronic products, use care not to spill liquids into any part of the system. Liquids
can cause a failure and/or a fire hazard.
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle
alerts the user to the presence of uninsulated, dangerous voltage within
the system enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a
risk of electrical shock.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle, as marked on
the system, is intended to alert the user to the presence of important
operating and maintenance instructions in this owner’s guide.
Class B emissions
This Class B digital apparatus meets all requirements of the Canadian
Interference-Causing Equipment Regulations (Canada only).
WARNING: K eep the remote control battery away from children. It may cause a fire or
chemical burn if mishandled. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 100º C (212º F),
or incinerate. Dispose of used batteries promptly. Replace only with a battery of the
correct type and model number.
WARNING: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with
Duracell, Eveready, Energizer, Maxell, Toshiba, or Shun Wo CR2032 or DL2032
3-volt lithium battery.

USING YOUR ACOUSTIC WAVE®CONNECT KIT
Recommended placement
We recommend that you place the dock to the right of your Bose®system
so the iPod®has minimal effect on FM or AM reception. A better way to eliminate
interference is to make sure your iPod is off when listening to radio. Your new
remote is designed to turn off the iPod when you select the FM/AM source.

Note: The CD changer provides two AUX input jacks. Be sure to connect your iPod to
INPUT AUX 1 (and move any other auxiliary device to INPUT AUX 2). Then, when you
play your iPod, AUX 1 appears on the CD changer display panel.
If AUX 2 appears on the display instead, press the iPod button on the remote control.
You may then need to press the Play/Pause button before you hear the iPod play.
Connecting the dock to power
1. Connect the large end of the dock cable to the dock.
2. Connect the other end to the short cable on the power pack.
3. Plug the power pack into an AC (mains) outlet.

Control of your iPod® and Bose®system
We recommend replacing the remote that came with your Bose®system with this
new remote (shown below). Then use the new remote exclusively (not the buttons
on your Acoustic Wave®system II), so your iPod®and system perform as
intended.
The effects of some remote commands depend on which source (FM/AM/CD/
iPod) is playing. If the remote does not work as you expect, press the button for
that source to reset the intended mode of operation.
Most remote buttons are described in your Bose system owner’s guide. The
remote buttons with added features are identified below.

Docking your iPod®
1. From the Apple®iPod®universal dock carton, select the dock adapter
designed for your iPod. Or use the one supplied with your iPod.
2. Insert the adapter into the well of the dock.
3. Place your iPod securely in the dock and make sure it is firmly seated.
This causes the iPod to turn on in a paused state and begin charging, as
needed. Even when the paused iPod turns off automatically, it continues to
charge.
Playing your iPod
Be sure to aim the remote so its signals reach the IR sensor on the front of the
dock. Then use these buttons as follows:
• Press to turn on the system and begin iPod playback.
•Press to pause or resume iPod play.
• Press once to skip back or ahead one track.
Press and hold to scan through a track.
• Press to adjust the sound volume.
Do not use the iPod click wheel to adjust the volume.
Note: Your Wave®system is designed to work with an iPod set at full volume and to
have volume adjustments made using the new remote.
• Press once to turn off both products, aiming the remote at the dock until
the iPod turns off. Or press another source button (AM, FM, or CD) to turn off
the iPod and listen to that source.
Note: Even with the remote aimed properly, the iPod requires a 2-second signal
from the remote before turning off.

Use the new remote to set the volume to the level you
prefer for a particular song. The recording quality of
songs varies, producing inconsistent play volumes.
The volume of the iPod
is much lower than the
volume of the other

This problem can be caused by using the click wheel
to adjust the volume of the iPod while it is in the dock.
The iPod is connected
to the CD changer and

Battery replacement
To replace the remote control battery, use a Duracell, Eveready, Energizer, Maxell,
Toshiba, or Shun Wo CR2032 or DL2032, 3-volt lithium battery. Be sure to match
the + polarity on the battery to the + symbol inside the battery tray. Refer to your
Bose®system owner’s guide for further information.
Limited warranty
For Bose product limited warranty information, please refer to the owner’s
guide for the Acoustic Wave®music system II. For warranty information specific
to the iPod®dock, please refer to the Apple®documentation provided in the
carton with the dock.

Empfohlene Aufstellung
Am besten stellen Sie das Dock rechts neben Ihrem Bose®-System auf, damit der
iPod®den UKW- oder MW-Empfang am wenigsten stört. Zur Vermeidung von
Interferenzen sollten Sie den iPod beim Radiohören ausschalten. Die
Fernbedienung ist so konstruiert, dass der iPod bei Auswahl der FM/AM-Quelle
ausgeschaltet wird.

Hinweis: Der CD-Wechsler verfügt über zwei AUX-Eingangsbuchsen. Schließen Sie
den iPod an die Buchse INPUT AUX 1 an (und ggf. vorhandene andere Aux-Geräte an
die Buchse INPUT AUX 2). Wenn Sie mit dem iPod Musik hören, wird auf dem Display
des CD-Wechslers AUX 1 angezeigt.
Wird auf dem Display stattdessen AUX 2 angezeigt, drücken Sie auf der Fernbedienung
die iPod-Taste. Möglicherweise müssen Sie auf die Play/Pause-Taste drücken, bevor
Sie die Wiedergabe vom iPod hören können.
Das Dock an eine Steckdose anschließen
1. Verbinden Sie den großen Stecker des Dock-Kabels mit dem Dock.

Steuerung des iPod® und des Bose®-Systems
Es wird empfohlen, die Fernbedienung, die Sie mit dem Bose®-System erhalten
haben, durch die neue Fernbedienung (unten abgebildet) zu ersetzen. Verwenden
Sie dann ausschließlich die neue Fernbedienung (nicht die Tasten am Acoustic
Wave®System II), damit der iPod®und das System wie erwartet funktionieren.
Bei einigen Tasten der Fernbedienung richtet sich die Funktion nach der Quelle
(FM/AM/CD/iPod), die abgespielt wird. Wenn die Fernbedienung nicht wie
erwartet funktioniert, drücken Sie die Taste für die verwendete Quelle, um den
entsprechenden Modus einzustellen.
Die meisten Tasten der Fernbedienung werden in der Bedienungsanleitung des
Bose-Systems beschrieben. Nachstehend werden die Tasten mit zusätzlichen
Funktionen aufgeführt.

iPod®andocken
1. Wählen Sie aus der Verpackung des Apple®iPod®Universal Dock den
passenden Dock-Adapter für Ihren iPod. Stattdessen können Sie auch den
mit dem iPod gelieferten Dock-Adapter verwenden.
2. Setzen Sie den Adapter in die Vertiefung des Docks ein.
3. Setzen Sie den iPod fest in das Dock ein und vergewissern Sie sich, dass er
sicher angedockt ist. Der iPod wird dadurch im Ruhemodus angeschlossen
und wird bei Bedarf aufgeladen. Auch wenn der auf iPod im Ruhemodus
automatisch ausgeschaltet wird, wird er weiterhin aufgeladen.
Musik mit dem iPod abspielen
Halten Sie die Fernbedienung so, dass die Signale den Infrarotempfänger vorne
am Dock erreichen können. Verwenden Sie dann diese Tasten wie beschrieben:
• Drücken Sie , um das System einzuschalten und die Wiedergabe vom
iPod zu starten.
• Drücken Sie , um die Wiedergabe vom iPod zu unterbrechen bzw.
fortzusetzen.
• Drücken Sie ein Mal , um einen Track vor- oder zurückzugehen.
Halten Sie diese Taste gedrückt, um den Schnelllauf durch einen Titel zu
aktivieren.
• Drücken Sie , um die Lautstärke zu regeln.
Verwenden Sie nicht das Click Wheel des iPod,
um die Lautstärke einzustellen.
Hinweis: Ihr Wave®System ist für die Verwendung mit einem iPod, der auf höchste
Lautstärke gestellt ist, eingestellt. Die Lautstärke sollte mithilfe der neuen
Fernbedienung geregelt werden.
• Drücken Sie ein Mal , um beide Geräte auszuschalten. Halten Sie die
Fernbedienung dabei auf das Dock gerichtet, bis der iPod ausgeschaltet ist.
Sie können auch die Taste für eine andere Quelle (AM, FM oder CD) drücken,
um den iPod auszuschalten und Musik von der gewählten Quelle zu hören.
Hinweis: Auch wenn die Fernbedienung in die richtige Richtung gehalten wird,
benötigt der iPod ein zwei Sekunden langes Signal, bevor er ausgeschaltet wird.

Problem Lösung
Die Fernbedienung
steuert den iPod®nicht. Drücken Sie , um den Betriebsmodus für den
iPod®einzustellen.
Möglicherweise müssen Sie dann drücken,
um die Wiedergabe fortzusetzen.
Der iPod ist
eingeschaltet, wenn er
es nicht sein sollte.
Wenn das System ausgeschaltet ist oder Sie eine
andere Quelle abspielen, drücken Sie .
Drücken Sie dann oder die Taste für eine andere
Quelle (FM, AM oder CD).
Wenn Sie Fernbedienung in die richtige Richtung
halten, sollte der iPod innerhalb von zwei Sekunden
ausgeschaltet werden.
Die Lautstärke variiert
beim Abspielen
verschiedener Titel mit
dem iPod.
Stellen Sie mithilfe der neuen Fernbedienung die
gewünschte Lautstärke für die einzelnen Titel ein.
Die Aufnahmequalität der Lieder variiert und führt zu
ungleichmäßiger Lautstärke.
Die Lautstärke des iPod
ist viel geringer als die
der anderen
Systemquellen.
Halten Sie die Taste gedrückt, um den iPod auf
die volle Lautstärke zurückzusetzen.
Dieses Problem wird meistens dadurch verursacht,
dass zum Einstellen der iPod-Lautstärke das Click
Wheel verwendet wurde, während sich der iPod im
Dock befand.
Der iPod ist an den
CD-Wechsler
angeschlossen und
eingeschaltet,
trotzdem erfolgt keine
Wiedergabe.
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Audiokabel vom
Dock an die Buchse INPUT AUX 1 am CD-Wechsler
angeschlossen ist.
Drücken Sie und überprüfen Sie, ob AUX 1 auf
dem Display des CD-Wechslers erscheint.
Möglicherweise müssen Sie dann drücken.
Die Lautsprecher des
Bose®-Systems geben
Töne aus, selbst wenn
ein Kopfhörer an den
angedockten iPod
angeschlossen ist.
Schließen Sie den Kopfhörer an die Minibuchse am
Acoustic Wave®Music System II an. Dadurch wird das
System stummgeschaltet und die Ausgabe erfolgt nur
über den Kopfhörer.

Batterien wechseln
Wenn Sie die Batterie der Fernbedienung austauschen, verwenden Sie eine
3-Volt-Lithium-Batterie CR2032 oder DL2032 von Duracell, Eveready, Energizer,
Maxell, Toshiba oder Shun Wo. Achten Sie beim Einsetzen der Batterie auf die
