The ASW 800 is the smaller of two subwoofers designed to complement the Nautilus
800 Series speakers in both styling and performance.
The curved Matrix cabinet houses a 300mm (12 in) driver and 1000W amplifier.
With its gracefully curved cabinet following the styling cues of the Nautilus 800 Series,
the ASW 800 delivers the performance to complement this acclaimed high-end
range. Like all the speakers in the Series, the cabinet features B&W's unique inter-
locking Matrix bracing system to ensure that, whatever the volume level, coloration
from panel vibration is not an issue. It provides the bedrock for the 300mm (12 in)
driver.
Featuring an ultra rigid paper/Kevlar® cone, 100mm (4 in) diameter voice coil, triple
suspension and huge magnet, this driver exhibits exceptional control and dynamics,
whether reproducing the excitement of special movie effects or the lowest registers of
complex musical passages.
Power to extract bass from the relatively compact cabinet is provided by an audiophile
1000W amplifier, its Class-D circuitry and switch mode power supply ensuring effi-
cient operation.
