Per usare ETI/SER XIP sono necessari:
• Un display con ingresso DVI o HDMI + DVI (incor-
porato) o un cavo HDMI
• Tastiera USB e mouse

To use ETI/SER XIP, you will need:

Caratteristiche ETI/SER XIP ETI/SER XIP features
USB
There are 6 USB ports – 4 USB A ports on the back
and 2 mini-USB on the front.
All ports support High-speed USB 2.0 - 480 Mbps.
Ports on the back are upside down – note when
connecting USB plugs.
Note: Front left port supports USB 2 only and not USB
1 – good for connecting a camera or a thumb drive,
not for a keyboard or a mouse.
IR Receiver
The IR receiver is compatible with any standard
IR remote control (38KHz). A driver and utility are
required to take advantage of IR functionality.
DVI
Display interface is DVI-D over HDMI connector.
To connect ETI/SER XIP to a DVI display
Use the provided HDMI to DVI adapter. Use a DVI
cable to connect the adapter to the display.
To connect ETI/SER XIP to a flat-screen TV
Use an HDMI cable between the HDMI connector
and HDMI input of the TV.
Note: Audio should be connected separately.
USB
Sono disponibili 6 porte USB; 4 USB A sulla parte
anteriore e 2 porte mini-USB sulla parte posteriore.
Tutte le porte supportano lo standard High-speed
USB 2.0 - 480 Mbps; le porte sulla parte anteriore
sono capovolte – prestare attenzione connetten-
do i cavi USB.
Note: La porta sulla parte frontale a sinistra supporta
solo lo standard USB 2 e non USB 1 – utile per connet-
tere una macchina fotografica o pen drive, non per
mouse o tastiera.
Ricevitore IR
Il ricevitore IR è compatibile con qualsiasi teleco-
mando IR (38KHz). Sono necessari driver e utility
specifiche per usufruire delle funzionalità IR.
DVI
L’interfaccia video è DVI-D su connettore HDMI.
Per connettere ETI/SER XIP a un Monitor DVI
Usare il cavo adattatore HDMI a DVI. Usare un cavo
DVI per connettere l’adattatore al monitor.
Per connettere ETI/SER XIP a un televisore a
schermo piatto
Usare un cavo HDMI dal connettore HDMI di ETI/
SER XIP alla presa HDMI del televisore.
Nota: L’audio può essere connesso separatamente.

MiniSD
L’alloggiamento per le schede miniSD supporta
schede miniSD e SDIO. Le schede SDHC non sono
supportate.
Audio
Nella parte anteriore sono disponibili 3 jacks stan-
dard da 3.5mm.
Da sinistra a destra:
• Stereo line-in
• Stereo line-out
• Microfono
LAN
ETI/SER XIP dispone di un connettore standard
RJ45 per rete ethernet 10/100/1000BaseT. Usare
un cavo Ethernet standard per la connessione.
Il connettore è dotato di LED che si accende quan-
do viene rilevata una connessione.
WLAN (solo su alcuni modelli)
In modelli con WiFi integrato è disponibile una
antenna WLAN che deve essere avvitata nel con-
nettore SMA.
Pulsante di accensione
ETI/SER XIP è dotato di un pulsante di accensione.
Per spegnere ETI/SER XIP mantenere premuto il
pulsante per 3 secondi.
Al termine di una interruzione dell’alimentazione
ETI/SER XIP riprenderà a funzionare automatica-
mente.
LED’s
ETI/SER XIP è dotato di 3 indicatori LED.
Da sinistra a destra –
• Attività HDD
• abilitazione/attività WLAN
• Accensione
MiniSD
The miniSD socket supports miniSD cards, includ-
ing SDIO. SDHC is not supported.
Audio
There are 3 standard 3.5mm jacks on the back.
From left to right:
• Stereo line-in
• Stereo line-out
• Microphone
LAN
ETI/SER XIP has 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet using
a standard RJ45 connector. Use a standard Ether-
net cable to connect.
The connector has built-in LED’s that are lit when
a connection is detected.
WLAN (on some models)
A WLAN antenna is supplied in models with inte-
grated WiFi and should be screwed into a standard
SMA connector.
Power button
ETI/SER XIP has a tactile power push-button.
To switch off ETI/SER XIP hold the button for 3
seconds .
After a power failure ETI/SER XIP restart automati-
cally.
LED’s
ETI/SER XIP has 3 indicator LED’s.
From left to right –
• HDD activity
• WLAN enabled/activity
• Power

QUICK START GUIDE
Connecting ETI/SER XIP
• Gently insert the DC plug into the ETI/SER XIP DC
in jack. Connect the power supply to the AC cord
and plug the cord into AC outlet.
• Plug the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet con-
nector.
• Press the power button. The power LED should
light up as the ETI/SER XIP boots.
AVVIO DEL SISTEMA
Connettere ETI/SER XIP
• Connettere il jack dell’alimentatore alla presa
dedicata sull’ ETI/SER XIP e connettere la presa
dell’alimentatore alla rete elettrica.
• Collegare il cavo Ethernet alla presa Ether-
net.
• Premere il tasto di accensione. Il LED di alimenta-
zione dovrebbe accendersi.
Una volta configurato il Pc per connettersi al
server, occorre digitare sul Browser l’indirizzo
http://192.168.1.1.
Dopo alcuni istanti apparirà la pagina web di con-
figurazione che richiederà per l’accesso le creden-
ziali dell’utente che da configurazione di fabbrica
sono: Username: installer, Password: 112233.
Once the PC is configured for connection to the
server, enter the following address in the browser
http://192.168.1.1.
After a few moments, the web configuration page
will appear that will ask for user credentials, which
have the factory configuration of: Username: in-
staller, Password: 112233.

MAINTENANCE
The ETI/SER XIP requires no maintenance. You
should not take the ETI/SER XIP apart - this will
void its warranty.
The following operations can be conducted by
the user:
Axing rubber feet
You should stick the rubber feet to the bottom of
the ETI/SER XIP to protect the supporting surface.
Recommended rubber feet placement is shown
below:
Installing Hard Disk
1. Open the two screws on the HDD cover indi-
cated below and remove it.
2. Slide disk in until it is connected firmly. The two
hard disk screw holes should be aligned with the
holes in the base.
MANUTENZIONE
ETI/SER XIP non necessita di alcuna manutenzione.
L’apertura di ETI/SER XIP fa decadere la garanzia.
Le seguenti operazioni possono essere svolte da
un utente:
Collocazione dei piedini in gomma
I piedini di gomma possono essere collocati sulla
base del ETI/SER XIP per proteggere la superficie
di appoggio.
La collocazione corretta dei piedini in gomma è
mostrato di seguito:
Installazione dell’Hard Disk
1. Aprire le due viti sul coperchio del disco fisso
come indicato di seguito e rimuoverlo.
2. Far scorrere il disco fino a quando è posizionato
saldamente. I due fori per le viti del disco rigido
dovrebbe essere allineate con i fori nella base.

3. Replace the HDD cover and tighten the two
screws.
4. Tighten the four HDD screws indicated below.
3. Riposizionare il coperchio dell’Hard disck e ser-
rare le due viti.
4. Serrare le quattro viti dell’Hard disck indicate
di seguito.
Removing Hard Disk
1. Open the four HDD screws
2. Open the two screws on the HDD cover indi-
cated below and remove it.
3. Flip the cover (see below) and reattach the two
screws to use it as a handle to pull out the HDD.
Rimmozione dell’Hard Disk
1. Svitare le quattro viti indicate
2. Svitare le due viti indicate sul coperchio
dell’hard-disck e rimuoverlo.
3. Capovolgere il coperchio (vedi sotto), riavvitare
le viti ed utilizzarlo come maniglia per estrarre
l’hard-disck.
