Warning
Your shaver isprovided with a special cord
set, which hasan integrated Safety Extra Low
Voltage power supply. Do not exchange or
tamper with any part of it, otherwise there is
risk of electric shock.

Charging
The best environmental temperature for
charging isbetween 5 °C and 35 °C. Do not
expose the shaver to temperatureshigher
than 50 °C for extended periodsof time.
Using the special cord set (11), connect the
shaver to an electrical outlet with the motor
switched off and charge it for at least one
hour.
A full charge providesup to 45 minutesof
cordless shaving time. Thismay vary
according to your beard growth.
If the rechargeable battery hasrun out of
power (discharged), you may also shave by
connecting the shaver to an electrical outlet
via the special cord set.

Shaver display
The shaver display (7) showsthe charge
statusof the battery.
Model 560: During charging or when using
the shaver, the respective green battery
segment will blink. When fully charged, all
green segmentswill light up continuously,
provided the shaver isswitched on or
connected to an electrical outlet.
(Model 550: 1 green charging segment only.)
The red low charge segment flasheswhen
the battery capacity hasdropped below
20%, provided the shaver isswitched on.
The remaining capacity will then be sufficient
for 2 to 3 shaves.
Shaving
Press the on/off switch (6) to operate the
shaver.
Comfort setting switch «sensitive» (5)
Setting the shaver head according to your
comfort needs.
The «sensitive» switch (5) providesthree
optionsfor comfort setting:
1« + » :
The shaver head isin full swing, freely
followsthe contoursof your skin to
provide more comfort.
2middle position:
The shaver head issemi-fixed for more
control.
3« – » :
The shaver head isfixed for full control
and precise handling in hard to reach
areas.
Long hair trimmer (4)
To trim sideburns, moustache or beard, slide
the long hair trimmer upwards.

Tips for the perfect shave
For best shaving results, Braun
recommendsyou to follow 3 simple steps:
1. Alwaysshave before washing your face.
2. At all times, hold the shaver at right
angles(90°) to your skin.
3. Stretch your skin and shave against the
direction of your beard growth.
Cleaning
The shaver head issuitable for
cleaning under running tap water.
Warning: Detach the shaver from the
power supply before cleaning the
shaver head in water.
Regular cleaning ensuresbetter shaving
performance. Rinsing the shaving head under
running water after each shave isan easy
and fast way to keep it clean (A):
Switch the shaver on (cordless) and rinse
the shaver head under hot running water.
You may use liquid soap without abrasive
substances. Rinse off all foam and let the
shaver run for a few more seconds.
Next, switch off the shaver, press the foil
release buttons(3) to remove the shaver
foil (1) and cutter block (2). Then leave the
disassembled shaving partsto dry.
If you regularly clean the shaver under
water, then once a week apply a drop of
light machine oil onto the long hair trimmer
and shaver foil.
The following quick cleaning isanother
alternative cleaning method (B):
Press the foil release buttons(3) to lift
the shaver foil (do not remove the foil
completely). Switch on the shaver for
approx. 5–10 secondsso that the shaved
stubblescan fall out.
Switch off the shaver. Remove the shaver
foil and tap it out on a flat surface. Using
the brush, clean the inner area of the
shaver head. However, do not clean the
shaver foil nor the cutter block with the
brush asthiswill damage them.

Keeping your shaver in top
shape
Replacing the shaver foil and cutter
block / reset
To maintain 100% shaving performance,
replace the shaver foil (1) and cutter block (2),
when the replacement symbol (8) lightsup
(after about 18 months) or when worn.
The replacement symbol will remind you
during the next 7 shavesto replace the
shaving parts. Then the shaver will automati-
cally reset the display.
After you have replaced the shaving parts
(foil and cutter block), use a ball-pen to push
the reset button (9) for at least 3 secondsto
reset the counter.
While doing so, the replacement light blinks
and goesoff when the reset iscomplete.
The manual reset can be done at any time.

We grant 1 year guarantee on the product
commencing on the date of purchase. Within
the guarantee period we will eliminate, free of
charge, any defectsin the appliance resulting
from faultsin materialsor workmanship,
either by repairing or replacing the complete

Thisguarantee extendsto every country
where thisappliance issupplied by Braun or
itsappointed distributor.
Thisguarantee doesnot cover: damage due
to improper use, normal wear and tear (e.g.
shaver foil or cutter block) aswell asdefects
that have a negligible effect on the value or
operation of the appliance. The guarantee
becomesvoid if repairsare undertaken by
unauthorised personsand if original Braun
partsare not used.
To obtain service within the guarantee period,
