Charging
Recommended ambient temperature for charging is 41 °F to 95 °F / 5 °C to
35 °C. The battery may not charge properly or at all under extreme low or
high temperatures. Recommended ambient temperature for shaving is 60 °F
to 95 °F / 15 °C to 35 °C. Do not expose the shaver to temperatures higher
than 122 °F / 50 °C for extended periods of time.
• Using the special cord set (6), connect the appliance to an electrical outlet
with the motor switched off.
• When charging for the first time or when the appliance is not used for a few
months, leave the appliance to charge continuously for at least 8 hours.
• Once the appliance is completely charged, discharge it (until empty)
through normal use. Then recharge to full capacity. Maximum capacity
will only be reached after several charging/discharging cycles.
• A full charge provides at least 40 minutes of cordless operating time.
This may vary depending on the hair you are trimming.
• If the rechargeable batteries are discharged, you may also use the
appliance by connecting to an electrical outlet via the special cord set.
Charge indicator
The charge indicator integrated in the on/off switch (4) shows the charging
status of the batteries. During charging the symbol in the on/off switch
lights up permanently green. When the battery is fully charged, the charge
indicator turns off.

General hair cutting information
• The hair should be clean, well combed, tangle-free and dry.
• If you are not used to clipping hair, begin with a higher setting and then
reduce the setting to avoid cutting more hair than desired.
• Use a slow and controlled movement. Do not force the clipper through
the hair faster than the clipper can cut it.
• In between, shake or blow off the hair from the clipper. If too much hair is
caught in the distance comb, remove it.
• To control your progress during clipping, regularly comb the hair in the
style desired.

• Place the hair clipping comb (1) on the appliance with the appliance
turned off.
• Press the length selector (3) and slide the hair comb up to your desired
hair length. Possible length settings (mm):

• Turn the appliance on by pressing the on/off switch (4) and cut hair to the
desired length.
Hair cutting without hair clipping comb
• Remove the clipping comb.
• To start clipping, turn the appliance on by pressing the on/off switch (4).
• Move the cutting system only in a parallel position to the skin (A, cutting
hair). Slowly and carefully move the appliance against the direction of hair
growth.
• Only when trimming contours the cutting system should be positioned
vertically (B, trimming).
• Make sure you do not tilt the appliance while it is touching the skin (C).
• Avoid jerky movements while cutting.
Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures better trimming performance.
Cleaning with the brush
• Switch off the appliance. Open the cutting system by pressing with the
thumb against the trimmer from the front side. It opens by ca. 45°.

• Using the brush clean the trimmers and the space behind the trimmer
(inside the housing).
Cleaning with water
• Switch off the appliance and rinse the head and the trimmer under warm
running water. You can also rinse the opened cutting system. The appli-
ance should not be used until it has dried.
Keeping your appliance in top shape
To keep the cutting system working properly, oil it with light machine oil
after each use, especially when cleaning under running water (D).
Preserving the batteries
In order to maintain the optimum capacity of the rechargeable batteries,
the appliance has to be fully discharged (by operating) every 6 months
approximately. Then recharge the appliance to full capacity.
Environmental notice
This product contains rechargeable batteries. In the interest of
protecting the environment, please do not dispose of the product in
the household waste at the end of its useful life. Disposal can take
place at a Braun Service Centre or at appropriate collection points

Mise en charge du rasoir
La température ambiante recommandée pour la mise en charge est de 5 °C
à 35 °C (41 °F à 95 °F). Il se peut que la pile ne se recharge pas correctement
ou qu’elle ne se recharge pas du tout à des températures extrêmement
hautes ou basses. La température ambiante recommandée pour le rasage est
de 15 °C à 35 °C (60 °F à 95 °F). Ne pas exposer le rasoir à une température
supérieure à 50 °C (122 °F) pendant trop longtemps.
• À l’aide du cordon d’alimentation spécial (6), brancher l’appareil éteint à
une prise de courant.
• Lors de la première charge ou lorsque l’appareil n’est pas utilisé durant
quelques mois, laisser l’appareil charger en continu pendant au moins
8 heures.
• Une fois l’appareil complètement chargé, l’utiliser normalement jusqu’à
ce qu’il soit déchargé, puis le recharger à sa pleine capacité. La capacité
maximale ne sera atteinte qu’après plusieurs cycles de charge/décharge.
• Une pleine charge procure au moins 40 minutes d’utilisation sans cordon.
Cette durée peut varier selon le type de cheveux.

totalement chargée, l’indicateur de charge s’éteint.
Renseignements généraux sur la coupe des cheveux
• Les cheveux doivent être propres, bien peignés, démêlés et secs.
• Si vous n’avez pas l’habitude de couper les cheveux, commencez par
une coupe plus longue, puis diminuez la longueur pour éviter d’enlever
trop de cheveux.
• Raser en faisant des mouvements lents et maîtrisés. Ne pas forcer le
rasoir à couper plus rapidement qu’il ne le permet.
• Entre-temps, secouer le rasoir ou souffler sur les cheveux pour enlever
les cheveux qui restent coincés dans le peigne.
• Pour une plus grande maîtrise pendant le rasage, peigner régulièrement
les cheveux pour les coiffer comme désiré.

• Placer le peigne pour couper les cheveux (1) sur l’appareil éteint.
• Appuyer sur le sélecteur de longueur de coupe (3) et glisser le peigne
pour couper les cheveux de la longueur désirée. (longueurs de coupes
possibles avec le peigne (1) : 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 et 24 mm).
• Mettre l’appareil en marche en appuyant sur l’interrupteur marche/arrêt
(4) et couper les cheveux à la longueur désirée.
Coupe des cheveux sans le peigne
• Enlever le peigne.
• Pour commencer à couper les cheveux, mettre l’appareil en marche en
appuyant sur l’interrupteur marche/arrêt (4).
• Déplacer le système de coupe uniquement de façon parallèle à la peau
(A, coupe des cheveux). Glisser lentement et avec soin l’appareil dans le
sens opposé à la pousse des cheveux.
• Le système ne devrait être placé à la verticale que pour tailler les
contours (B, taille).
• S’assurer de ne pas incliner l’appareil lorsqu’il touche la peau (C).
• Éviter les mouvements saccadés pendant la coupe.

Nettoyage
Un nettoyage régulier assure une meilleure performance de rasage.
Nettoyage à l’aide de la brosse
• Éteindre l’appareil. Ouvrir le système de coupe en appuyant sur le devant
de la tondeuse à l’aide du pouce. Il s’ouvre à un angle de 45°.
• À l’aide de la brosse, nettoyer la tondeuse et l’espace derrière la
tondeuse (à l’intérieur du boîtier).
Nettoyage à l’eau
• Éteindre le rasoir et rincer la tête et la tondeuse à l’eau courante chaude.
Vous pouvez également rincer le système de coupe ouvert. Ne pas
l’utiliser avant qu’il ne soit complètement sec.
Entretien de l’appareil
Pour que le système de coupe fonctionne correctement, le lubrifier avec de
l’huile mouvement après chaque utilisation, surtout après le nettoyage sous
l’eau courante (D).
Entretien des piles
Afin de conserver la capacité optimale des piles rechargeables, il faut
laisser l’appareil se décharger entièrement (en l’utilisant normalement) tous
les 6 mois environ. Recharger ensuite l’appareil à sa pleine capacité.
Avis environnemental
Ce produit contient des piles rechargeables. Afin de protéger
l’environnement, nous vous prions de ne pas jeter ce produit dans
les ordures ménagères à la fin de sa vie utile. Nous vous invitons à le
