SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING: Ultraviolet light (UVC) can cause serious harm to eyes and skin.
NEVER look directly or indirectly at these lights. NEVER expose your skin to
these ultravioletlights.
NEVER operate the BreatheCLEAN air purification system outside of the
ductwork.
WARNING: Ultraviolet light can breakdown the materials that are not rated for
exposure to UV.These materials include flexibleplastic or vinyl ductwork, duct
board, non-paper air filters, drainage trays, and plastic insulation on wire. To
avoid damaging these materials, mount your BreatheCLEAN Air Purifier at least
three feet away from the materials that could break down. If you need to mount
the BreatheCLEAN unit in direct line of sight of these materials, you should use
aluminumfoil, aluminum tape or sheet metal to shield the materials from the
ultraviolet light.
WARNING: Do NOTtouch the ultraviolet bulbs with your hands. The oils on your
skin will create hot spots and can reduce the life of the bulbs.
WARNING: INDOOR USE ONLY! Do not install this product outdoors.
WARNING: In the case of abroken ultravioletbulb, DO NOTtouch the internal
components of the bulb. If your skin is exposed, wash all affected areas with a
mild detergent. Remove any clothes that have been affected by the bulb’sinternal
contents. If skin is cut, seek medical attention immediately.Follow the Broken
Bulb Clean-up below.

get broken, please follow the following procedures.

with your skin.
1. Wearing disposable non-absorbent protectivegloves, pick up the large pieces
of the broken bulb.

3. Dispose of the gloves, vacuum cleaner bag, and broken pieces of the bulbs
into a sealed plastic bag.

Installation Instructions
Step One:
MEASURE FIRST and affix the template.
Refer to the diagram on the next page to
determine the best installation location, and
measure the ductwork. You need 16” of depth
inside your cold air return or hot air plenum to
accommodate the UV bulbs. The
BreatheCLEAN unit can be installed horizontally
or vertically.Once you have picked your
location, remove the backing from the self-
adhesive template and affix to the desired
location. If you have central air conditioning,
make sure you do not drill into the “A-Coil” as
shown on the diagram.
Step Two:
With the 2¼” hole saw attached to your power
drill, drill the two large holes. The best speed for
drilling with ahole saw is slow to medium. Use
the centering marks on the template to locate
the proper centering of holes. You should wear
protective goggles to protect your eyes.
Step Three:
With the six self-drilling screws, use the
screwdriver to attach the mounting plate to the
ductwork. The mounting plate must be secured
tightly to the ductwork-i.e., no gap or space
between the plate and the ductwork at the center
hole location.

Step Four:
Remove the unit from the box and carefully
install the bulbs. Use the enclosed glove to
handle the bulbs. Avoid touching the glass with
your hands. The oils on your hands can reduce
the life of the bulbs. Snap the bulbs into
brackets, and firmly slide bulbs down into
sockets. Be sure to push bulbs all the way
down!
Installation Instructions (continued)
Step Five:
Affix the two enclosed WARNING labels and the BREATHECLEAN
BULB REPLACEMENTREMINDER label to the ductwork under or near
the unit. MAKE SURE THESE WARNING LABELS ARE HIGHLY
VISIBLE TO ANYONE WORKING ON OR NEAR THE FURNACE
SYSTEM! Then, only after firmly securing the BreatheCLEAN unit to
the ductwork, plug the unit into astandard AC 110 volt outlet. If there is
no outlet in reach of the 10’cord, we recommend having alicensed
electrician install an outlet near your furnace. Wedo not recommend
using extension cords. Do not drape electrical cord over or
around furnace exhaust tubing.
Wheninstallation is complete, check that the LED indicator is
illuminated. If not, refer to “Trouble Shooting” on the Maintenance and
Operating Information page.
Place the date on the bulb maintenance sticker.Mail your warranty card
so we can let you know when the bulbs need replacing.
Use aluminum foil tape to stop any light from leaking through holes in
your ductwork.

You may install it here, on the “supply”

SAFETY ALERT:If you have central air conditioning, then you have
an “A-coil” which would be just above the furnace in the lower part of
the plenum. You must be sure to place the BreatheCLEAN unit
above the A-coil. A-coils can rise 14” to 26” inches above the
furnace, so be sure to check carefully so as to not accidentally break
the bulbs against the coil or hit and puncture the A-coil. If punctured
the coil will leak coolant, which can cause harmful or deadly gases if
it comes in contact with flame.
For homes with built in humidifiers, do not install immediately down
stream of the humidifier. It is best to install at least 12” upstream of
the humidifier.
