Thank You.
All of us at Burson Audio would like to say thank you, and congratulations for purchasing the Burson AB160. We
sincerely believe that your Burson AB160 is an intelligent investment that will bring you many years of musical
en oyment and satisfaction.
We understand how eager you are to begin listening and we want you to become familiar with the full capabilities of
the Burson AB160. However, before powering on the device, we encourage you to look through the manual.
Team Burson
Formed around 1996 by a small group of passionate audiophiles, the sole purpose of the team was to pool various
knowledge and experience to build and develop audio pro ects for the member's own en oyment. None of the pro ects
were aimed to have any commercial value, they were either too costly or too time consuming to produce on a large
scale. Instead, they were always aimed to achieve perfection.
The team believes that making a piece of audio equipment is ust like crafting a musical instrument; knowledge,
patience and absolute passion are key to refinement!
It took almost 10 years before Team Burson formally introduced our first commercial product in 2005. We were both
surprised and grateful by all the instant support and recognition given by the global audiophile community.

Unpacking
After carefully unpacking your Burson AB160, inspect for any shipping damage and call your dealer immediately if any
is found. Do not plug your Burson AB160 into any outlet if you find shipping damage. Please save all packing materials
so the unit can be easily and safely shipped if the need arises.
The Accessory Kit
Included in the carton, you will find an accessory kit that contains the following:
•AC power cord
•AB160 Audio Buffer
•User manual with warranty registration instruction
Choosing a Location for the AB160
The sound quality of all high-performance audio components can be degraded by vibration. Try to avoid stacking other
audio component on top of the AB160 and allow minimum of 1cm clearance around the AB160 for heat disspreation.
For best performance, place the Burson AB160 on a solid, nonresonant shelf that will minimize vibration.

Connections
This section provides instructions to connect the Burson AB160 to the rest of your music system. Below is an illustration
of the Burson AB160 rear panel, showing all inputs and outputs.
Avoid allowing static shocks to be applied to the inputs or outputs. To prevent static shocks, touch any grounded
surface, such as the chassis of a component that is plugged into an AC socket, before connecting or removing a cable.
Inputs and outputs can be safely connected to the Burson AB160 when the AC power is switched off.
Connecting to AC Power
Check to make sure your Burson AB160 has been manufactured for operation at your AC line voltage. Attempting to use
your Burson AB160 at any voltage other than specified on the rear of the unit may cause damage that is not covered by
Burson’s warranty.

Using AC Line Conditioners
Of the wide range of power line conditioners currently available, some can provide substantial improvement in sound
while others actually degrade sonic performance. Use caution in selecting a power line conditioner for your system. In
particular, avoid using inexpensive “surge protectors”. Although these can prevent damage from high voltage spikes,
they often degrade performance.
Leaving the AC power on
Leaving the power on allows the circuitry to remain at a constant operating temperature, providing better performance
and longer life. However, there is always a slight increase in risk of fire or damage to any electrical component when
the power is left on. We leave the decision to Burson product powered to the individual owner.
Break-in and warm-up
Careful listeners will notice that the sound of the Burson PI1-00 improves steadily after the unit is powered-up. A new
unit will undergo more dramatic changes when power is applied for the first time. Depending on the resolution of the
system and the attentiveness of the listener, you may find that the sound continues to improve over the first several
weeks of operation. If the power is disconnected for a period of an hour or more, the unit will undergo similar but less
dramatic break-in.
Powering up
1
St
time powering up you AB160 make sure
volume control has been turn to minimal.
Power up your system follows the three steps
from source to power amp. When powering
down your system reverse the steps.
Tips
•Connect your AB160 directly to the wall socket with a good quality power cable Instead of channel thought a
power board will yield better result.
•Warm up your AB160 for 30 min is recommenced before each listening section.
•It is recommended to apply contact clearing product such as Deoxit ProGold Contact Cleaner to all input and
output connectors every 6 months.
