THANK YOU FOR PURCHASING THE BUSH BABY 3
Please read this manual before operating the BushBaby3 remote and keep it
handy.
TYPES OF BUSH BABY 3
The BushBaby 3 Covert DVR products come with either internal storage or
removable storage. Some units will come with an internal battery that
needs periodic charging, but will not record while charging. Other units will
not come with an internal battery and need to be plugged in at all times in
order to record. Check the specific product description of the item you
purchased to determine what type of memory it has and how your unit is
powered.
INCLUDED WITH PRODUCT
Please let your dealer know if any of these are missing within 48 hours.
 Wall charger: (included with battery operated units only) Use with
USB cable to connect to unit to charge the battery
 Remote Control Unit: this is required to operate the DVR
 USB cable

OPERATING THE BUSH BABY 3
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Allow the device to charge overnight before using.
Removable storage devices
Removable storage units use user provided MicroSD cards and allow DVR
board access.
To insert the Micro SD Card:
1. Slide the metal trapdoor to unlock it
2. Lift up the metal trapdoor on the board
3. Insert the MicroSD card
4. Put the metal trapdoor back down and slid it into place
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Do not insert or remove the SD card while the unit
is on or in standby mode. Doing so may cause data loss or file system
corruption.
HOW TO TURN ON THE BUSHBABY3
1. Press the A button
 The red indicator light will turn on
o The BushBaby is now in standby mode

HOW TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS
1. Press the B button
 The red indicator light will blink once
o The BushBaby has taken a photograph
HOW TO RECORD VIDEO
1. Press the C button
 The red indicator light will blink twice and then turn off
o The BushBaby is now recording live video
HOW TO USE MOTION DETECTION
1. Press the D button
 The red indicator light will blink twice and then turn off
o The BushBaby will only record video when it detects
motion
HOW TO SET THE TIME AND DATE STAMP (Windows Only)
1. Connect the device to your PC using the USB Cable
2. Go to http://www.mgidownloads.com/
3. Click on "WriteTime.exe" at the bottom of the page
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Some virus scanners may warn that this
program contains a virus. This is a false-positive. The program
is safe to use.
4. Go to your web browser’s default download location and open
WriteTime.exe
5. Click "Run"
6. The program will automatically detect the device
7. Click "Update"
HOW TO RETRIEVE THE FILES
Locate the USB port on the product. You can find the USB port on the
board—the same place where the indicator light and power switch are
located—and is the same connection as the charging port.
It will look like one the following:
Generally this will be located on the back, bottom, or inside of the device.
1. Plug the device into your PC using the USB cable
2. Locate “Removable Disk” inside the (My) Computer folder
 AutoPlay Removable Disk > Open folder to view files
Or…
 Go to Start > Computer > Removable Disk
3. Open the Removable Disk drive
4. Open the DCIM folder
5. Double click the file you want to view
 VLC Player is recommended for watching videos
IMPORTANT NOTICE: For units that use AC power, it is required that the
product’s power cord be plugged into an AC outlet to operate the DVR. The
DVR will not run on USB power alone.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Question:
What happens if the memory fills up?
Answer:
If the memory fills up while recording video, the oldest file on the
card will be deleted and a new file will be created. Video recording
will not stop once the card is full.
Question:
Why does the red light flash on the device when it is in Motion Detection
mode?
Answer:
The red light will flash 2 times to indicate that motion has been
detected. This denotes a new 3 minute cycle of recording.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT BUSH BABY BOTTLE PRODUCTS
If you have purchased a Bush Baby water or soda bottle, you will have one
of two different types of lids.
The first type of lid is a simple screw that slips in and out from
the base of the bottle.
