Lubrication of the CAEB MP550 Mini Round Baler before first use.
Scope: The CAEB baler Model MP550.
Purpose: To assist the user with first lubrication of the chains.
When the baler is unpacked, it will look like figure 1. The net wrap may or may not be installed

The two large chains that drive the rollers need to be well lubricated before using the machine. I have
identified the chain on the right in figure2.
Note that the oil tank is a reservoir for the self-contained hydraulic system on the baler. This tank is not
part of an automatic lubrication system. All greasing and lubrication is preformed manually.
The chains can be accessed by removing the top cover guard as shown in the owner’s manual. Oil the
chains on both sides.

When lubricating the chains, use oil. Grease will not penetrate inside the chain where lubrication is most
needed. Take care to not get oil onto the belt or the disk brake assembly.
Follow the instructions in the owner’s manual section 7 starting on page 36.
Brushing out the debris before oiling is important if there is a buildup.
