OPERATING YOUR WAFFLE MAKER
Appliance surfaces are hot during and after use. Always wear protective,
insulated oven mitts when touching hot waffle maker.
Before the First Use
1. Carefully remove all the pieces of the waffle maker from the packaging
and place on counter near a suitable electrical outlet. (See information
regarding Electrical Requirements on page 3.) Remove all
packaging materials, including any stickers or tags, from the waffle maker
before first use.
2. Before the first use, wipe with a damp cloth that has been dipped in a
watered down mild detergent or soap.
3. Plug power cord into a 120-volt electrical outlet and continue with steps
for Setting the Controls.
Setting the Controls
Step 1: CHOOSE THE DESIRED SHADE OF BROWNING
Turn the control knob to the desired shade of

Light – waffles are cooked throughout, but
exterior browning is minimal
Medium – waffles are golden brown
Dark – waffles are a deep golden brown and
the exterior is crispy

CAUTION

Step 2: PREHEAT WAFFLE MAKER
When the waffle maker is preheated the No PeekTM Ready light will
illuminate, indicating that it is ready for batter.
Step 3: ADD BATTER
Open the waffle maker and pour waffle batter (approximately ½ cup)
evenly over the bottom plate. Close the waffle maker.
When placing batter in or removing waffles from the waffle maker, prevent
the waffle maker from accidentally closing by holding the handle for the
upper waffle plate with an oven mitt.
Step 4: REMOVE WAFFLES
When the waffles are done, the No PeekTM Ready light will re-illuminate.
Open the waffle maker and remove the waffle carefully with a nonstick
safe utensil.
Step 5: UNPLUG WAFFLE MAKER AND COOL
After removing waffles, close waffle maker and let cool completely before
cleaning or storage.
TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL OPERATION
As you become familiar with your waffle maker, we want to share a
few suggestions.
• Use approximately ½ cup of batter for making a waffle.
• Preheating the waffle maker completely (as indicated by the illuminated
No PeekTM Ready light) helps prevent waffles from sticking to the plates.
• The level of browning will vary widely depending on the type of batter
used. Use batters with higher sugar content for darker waffles, and
batter with lower sugar content for lighter waffles.
• Nonstick cooking sprays are not recommended for this
waffle maker. Spraying the waffle plates with nonstick cooking
spray may build up a residue on the hot plates.
WARNING
6

• If making waffles for several people, place the waffles in a baking dish
and keep them warm at 200˚F. Think beyond traditional waffles for
breakfast. For example, enjoy savory waffles for dinner or chocolate
waffles topped with berries for dessert.
CLEANING AND CARE
Unplug waffle maker and make sure it has completely cooled before
cleaning. Failure to do so may result in risk of serious injury and
electric shock.
Before Cleaning
1. UNPLUG – Carefully unplug the waffle maker by firmly grasping the
plug and removing it from the electrical outlet.
2. COOL – Let the waffle maker cool completely before attempting
any cleaning.
Cleaning the Waffle Maker
1. Make sure waffle maker is unplugged and has completely cooled.
2. Clean the waffle plates by wiping with a damp cloth that has been
dipped in a watered down mild detergent or soap.
3. Wipe the waffle maker base with a clean, damp cloth. DO NOT use
abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface of
the waffle maker.
Do not immerse the waffle maker in water or spray water onto the waffle
plates.

STORAGE
The cord is designed to wrap around the back side of the waffle maker.
The cord clip keeps the cord in place. Store the waffle maker standing on
its end, on a clean, dry level surface. Do not store anything on top of the
waffle maker.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My waffle maker is not heating up; what am I doing wrong?
Be sure the power cord is plugged into a suitable outlet. See Electrical
Requirements on page 3.
How do I know which shade of browning to choose? If you like
waffles that are lightly browned but still cooked throughout, choose the Light
setting, and if you like a golden brown waffle, choose the Medium setting.
For those who want a deep golden brown and crispy waffle, choose the
Dark setting.
The waffles I made had irregular edges. What happened? This
could be caused by a couple of factors. First, check to make sure you are
using enough waffle batter. The waffle maker takes about ½ cup of batter
per batch. And, secondly, if the batter is thick, try thinning the batter or using
a nonstick safe utensil to spread the batter evenly over the bottom plate so
that all of the corners are filled.
My waffles stuck to the plates. What did I do wrong? Be sure
you preheat the waffle maker before adding the batter. Turn the knob to
the desired level of browning and then wait until the No PeekTM Ready light
illuminates. Also, avoid spraying the nonstick plates with cooking spray. This
can create a residue on the hot plates that causes sticking over time.
