2IMPORTANT INFORMATION
•If you have any questions or concerns regarding this document, the hardware you have received
or the requirements of your Camatics Insurance Policy, please contact you broker immediately.
•Before you begin installing and commissioning the system, please ensure that you have read this
manual thoroughly, referring to any supplementary information provided for the unit as
required.
•Care must be taken in the routing of all cables so that the insulation does not become worn or
damaged.
•Unauthorised modification to this equipment or associated accessories is forbidden without the
expressed permission and agreement from the product manufacturer.
•This equipment should not be operated in hazardous environments i.e. areas that contain
explosive materials or flammable vapours.
•This equipment should not be operated within aircrafts or in close proximity to medical
equipment.
•This equipment may only be located in a position where it cannot interfere with the normal
operation of the vehicle or present a hazard to the driver or passengers.
•Failure to comply with the following Warnings, Approval and Safety information may invalidate
warranty, certification or type approval of this product.
•All installation and service work must be carried out in accordance with FCS1362, FCS1372,
RQAS, 95/54/EC, ISO 21609 and / or any other statutory guidelines or Directives currently in
force. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that the unit is installed and commissioned by
suitably trained and qualified installation personnel with accreditation.
•Under no circumstances may any part of the product be installed inside the engine
compartment area.
•Unauthorised changes or alterations to the equipment or the installation will invalidate
certification issued by the Approved Accreditation Bodies and may also affect the vehicle
manufacturers warranty

3INSTALLATION DOS AND DON’TS
3.1 POWER
The device MUST be wired to its own power supply and not connected/shared with an existing power
pickup point. We recommend that the vehicle power pickup points should be located using the vehicle
manufactures instructions.
YOU MUST NOT USE ANOTHER TELEMATICS PROVIDER’SPOWER SUPPLY
OR PICK UP POINTS TO POWER THIS DEVICE
To avoid interference the power supply MUST be installed as far away from other Telematics devices
and power supplies already installed within the vehicle as possible. Ideally on the opposite side of the
vehicle.
3.2 SECURING THE DEVICE
Please note the installation location on the windscreen MUST NOT be in the marked area “As shown
below”
The dash camera has an internal accelerometer to measure harsh driving events so you MUST ensure
that it is firmly secured in the vehicle.
You MUST ensure that the device is calibrated as part of the commission process.

5FUNCTIONS
5.1 AUTOMATIC BOOTING
Once the VT2500 has been wired to your vehicle power source, the VT2500 will boot up. This will take
around 1 minute for the unit to be ready to record.
Please note, the unit will not start recording immediately after the power is on. It takes around 1 minute
for the built-in power backup system to charge. Once the unit is charged, the internal flash memory will
be ready to record.

6INSTALLATION
6.1 PREPARATION
1. Park your vehicle on a flat level surface.
2. Turn off the engine before installing the VT2500.
6.2 HARDWARE
1. Attach the VT2500 to the windscreen using the provided double sided 3M pad.
The surface must be clean and dry before you install the camera. We recommend you install the
product behind the rear view mirror on the front windshield. The 3M adhesive pad will not stick
well with dust or oil, etc. Please make sure the surface is clean before applying
2. Adjust the camera view and make sure the lens has an unobstructed view. Check the camera
angle from the outside of the vehicle. You can adjust the angle via the camera's bracket.
3. Arrange the power cord neatly alongside the windshield and door pillar trim.
6.3 WIRING
1. The VT2500 requires a continuous 12/24volt power source from the vehicle.
The cable supplied will allow you to hard wire the VT2500 unit to the fuse box of your vehicle.
2. Connect the “red cable (+)” to a fuse.
It should be connected to a fuse that has power only when you start the engine.
3. The ground cable should be contacted at the vehicle body or battery negative.
4. Start the vehicle after installation.
5. You must keep the vehicle powered on for at least 10 minutes following initial power-up of the
camera. Not doing so may result in damage to the camera and it not working correctly.
DO NOT TURN OFF THE VEHICLE DURING THIS TIME
6.4 G-SENSOR CALIBRATION
The G-Sessor will require calibration after installing the VT2500
1. Turn on the vehicle and press the red panic button for three seconds.
2. Calibration is complete when you hear a “beep”.

6.5 CAMATICS JOB SHEET
Please go to https://www.camatics.co.uk/newjobsheet and complete the Camatics Job Sheet. You will
require the following:
•Policy Number
•Vehicle Registration
•Device DRID –found on the device’s green sticker
•Photo of the inside of the vehicle showing the camera affixed to the windscreen
•Photo of the camera, showing the DRID
•Photo of the front of the vehicle, showing the registration plate and windscreen

7SD CARD REPLACEMENT
THE VT2500 MUST BE POWERED OFF AND SHOWING NO ACTIVITY ON THE LEDS BEFORE YOU
ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE SD CARD
7.1 ITEMS REQUIRED
You will need the following:
•Replacement SD Card (This must be set-up correctly and must be supplied via Camatics)
•Torx Screwdriver
7.2 INSTRUCTIONS
1. Unscrew the screw holding the protective cap to the end of the VT2500
2. Pull the protective cap away from the end of the VT2500
3. Push the SD card in so that it clicks and releases
4. Pull the SD card out of the VT2500 and put it aside
5. Push the new SD card into the VT2500 until you hear it click, it should sit flush with the casing
6. Place the protective cover back over the end of the VT2500 and use the screw to secure it in
place
7. Power on the VT2500 and wait 5 minutes to ensure the new SD card is working and has been
detected.

8SIM CARD REPLACEMENT
THE VT2500 MUST BE POWERED OFF AND SHOWING NO ACTIVITY ON THE LEDS BEFORE YOU
ATTEMPT TO REPLACE THE SIM CARD
8.1 ITEMS REQUIRED
You will need the following:
•Replacement SIM Card (This must be supplied via Camatics)
•Torx Screwdriver
8.2 INSTRUCTIONS

4. Pull the SIM card out of the VT2500 and put it aside
5. Push the new SIM card into the VT2500 until you hear it click, it should sit flush with the casing

place
7. Power on the VT2500 and wait 5 minutes to ensure the new SIM card is working and has been
detected.
