1. Safe Use
Never load in excess of the rated capacity for the application. Passing under the
lifting sling is forbidden.
Keep records of use of the products, users should take a constant record of this
product use. It’s better to make the records as professional habits of protection.
Twist and shock should be forbidden in use.
Inspect to insure that every component of this product is free from damage and
wear before use. Ensure that it is protected from any sharp corner use.
This product must be heat treated and coated(galvanized, plated, paint-coated,
phosphored, etc.) by manufacture. Each of these processes taken by
non-manufacture can have dangerous effect and invalidity to performance of
connecting link.
The rating of lifting accessories in European Standards assumes the absence
of exceptionally hazardous conditions. Exceptionally hazardous conditions
include off shore activities, the lifting of persons and lifting of potentially
dangerous loads such as molten metals, corrosive materials or fissile materials.
In such cases the degree of hazard should be assessed by a competent person
and the working load limit adjusted accordingly.
2. Products Inspection
A through annual examination should be carried out by a competent person. The
interval can be shortened according to the institution use. Magnetic detection
should be carried out at intervals at least every triennium. Under special condition,
the loading capacity of this product may be effected. Therefore, the competent
person should carry out the examination as necessary as possible. Before use,
choose the correct size for the load. Check the valid quality testing certificate of
manufacturer and the valid products instruction. Operator should be trained
before practice. Always inspect to insure that the product and it’s fitting are free
from damage or wear before use. This product wear should never exceed 5% of
the original dimensions. Inspect whether it is deformed by overload. Once the

4
product has been overload (has been tend to invalid), it must be take out of
service. The product should be replaced as deformed dimension exceeding 1,0%
of original dimension.
3. Maintenance
Store connecting link on a properly designed rack. They should not be left lying
on the floor where they may suffer mechanical or corrosion damage or may be
lost.
This product should not be stored in acid or caustic atmospheres.
The user should check the locking mechanics regarding the following procedure:
3.1. Check all parts of connection.
3.2. Check if locking mechanics is available.
3.3. Check if corrosion and damage for each part are existed.
3.4. Check if it is available for each spare kit.
3.5. Any damaged kit should be changed.
3.6. Make sure the locking mechanics are out of any damage from scull or hit
during use.
4. Limitation on Use
Connecting link should not be used in acid or caustic solutions nor in heavily
acidic or caustic laden atmospheres. The high tensile strength of the heat treated
alloy material in alloy steel chains and components is susceptible to hydrogen
embrittlement when exposed to acids which will cause connecting link invalidity.
This product may be used at temperatures between -40 to +200 with no
reduction in the working load limit. If accidentally exposed to temperatures in
excess of the maximum permissible should be withdrawn from service
immediately and returned to the manufacture for thorough examination. The
reduction in the working load limit is different according to the different degree of
the temperature. (in the table below)

5
GENERAL SAFETY RULES
The working load limit (WLL) should be applied in a straight pull and overloads
should not be applied. Side loads should be avoided, as the products are not
designed for this purpose and the application of a side load may significantly
decrease the product life. The working load limit for the product corresponds to
static use. In case of dynamic use (breaking, accelerations, shocks), the effective
stress on the product increases significantly which can lead to product failure.
It is required that the products are regularly inspected for obvious damage or
deterioration. This is required because the products in use may be affected by
wear, misuse, overloading etc. with a consequence of deformation and alteration
of the material structure. If faults are found during this inspection, the sling should
be withdrawn from service and referred to a competent person for thorough
examination.
If the tag identifying the chain sling and its working load limit becomes detached
and the necessary information is not marked on the sling, the chain sling should
be withdrawn from service.
Chain slings must be visually inspected every year and be tested every four years
by an expert body.

DANGER
Failure to observe this precautionary notice may cause a
dangerous state, resulting in death or serious injury.
DANGER Failure to observe this precautionary notice may cause a
dangerous state, resulting in a medium-level or minor injury
or damage on your properties.
NOT shorten or adjust the sling chain by any means other than those methods
approved by the sling chain manufacturer or qualified person.
NOT shorten or lengthen the sling chain by knotting or twisting. Hitch the sling chain
in a manner providing control of the load.
NOT allow the sling chain in contact with edges, corners or protrusions without being
protected by a material of sufficient strength, thickness, and construction to
prevent damage to the sling chain
NOT allow the sling chain to be shock loaded.
NOT allow loads to be rested on the sling chain.
NOT pull sling chains from under a load when the load is resting on the sling chain.Be
alert during lifting, with or without load, for possible sling chain snagging on
objects,
NOT allow the sling chain to be twisted or kinked.
NOT allow the sling chain to be dragged on the floor or over an abrasive surface.
NOT allow the sling chain to be constricted, bunched, or pinched by the load, hook or
any fitting.
Make sure load is balanced and load-holding action is secure before continuing.
Make sure sling chains, fittings and attachments are properly sized and rigged.

7
STORAGE OF CHAIN SLINGS
When not in use chain slings should be kept on a properly designed rack. They
should not be left lying on the ground where they may be damaged. If the chain
slings are to be left suspended from a crane hook, the chain sling hooks should
be engaged in an upper link to reduce risk of chain sling legs swinging freely or
snagging. If the chain slings are out of use for some time they should be cleaned,
dried and protected from corrosion, e.g. lightly oiled.

MAINTENANCE AND HANDLING
●
Possibility of corrosion increases for installations where salt air and high
humidity are present. Make frequent and regular inspections of the sling chain’s
condition and operation.
●
Avoid exposure to chemically active environments and chemicals in the form of
solids, liquids, gases, vapors or fumes.
●
Do not store in a manner that would allow mechanical damage or kinking.
●
Do not store the sling chain while supporting a load.
●
Remove any dirt or water on the sling chain.
●
Store the sling chain in a dry and clean area.
●
Perform all inspections given in “5.0 Inspection” if irregularity of the sling chain
is found after operation.
