RECORD DIRECT TO DVD

The DC50 digital camcorders deliver all the convenience and

functionality of DVD technology by letting you record directly to

DVDs. With DVDs, you can easily locate scenes without having to

rewind or fast-forward. You never have to worry about losing

precious memories, because your DVD camcorder will automatically

recordon blank disc space. Also, you can create playlists of your

favorite scenes, and even do some quick editing right in your

camcorder. The DC50 records to 3" DVD-R/-RW discs that can store

up to60 minutes of video (120 minutes on a double-sided disc) and

are compatible with most DVD players. It also records to DVD-R DL

discs that can store up to 108 minutes of video. Plus, with its lower

power consumption, you get even longer operating time.

hybrid noise reduction system. image processor which processes

The Horizontal Marker feature gives you a horizontal line in your

to help center your subject. And the Grid Marker helps you compose

camera, the DC50 lets you choose the metering mode that’s right

for your subject, whether it’s Portrait, Sports, Night, Snow, Beach,

Sunset, Spotlight, Fireworks. You also get Progressive Photo for

sharp, detailed images. The DC50’s Joystick lets you control your

exposure under difficult lighting conditions — you can meter

on your subject and lock your exposure,

or you can compensate by adjusting

your exposure by up to 11 stops.

You can even adjust your

exposures with precision, using

the DC50’s histogram display.

Plus, the DC50’s 9-point AiAF

function ensures sharp focus

no matter where your subject

is in the frame.

ROXIO MyDVD SOFTWARE

Your DC50 comes with Canon’s Roxio MyDVD software, which lets you edit your

video, and create Chapter & Play menus so you can watch just the memories

you want. You can then burn DVDs for your friends. Also, with its One-Touch

Dubbing feature (Windows XP only), you can quickly download video to your PC,

then dub to a DVD using your computers DVD drive, or your camcorder.

WIDESCREEN HR RECORDING

The DC50 records true High Resolution Widescreen video that looks brilliant

on your widescreen TV. That’s because Canon’s Widescreen HR Mode uses

the entire width of the image sensor, capturing true 16:9 widescreen. That

means more pixels — which means amazing image quality. The Widescreen

Button lets you switch from standard 4:3 to 16:9 at a single touch. Plus, a

big 2.7" widescreen LCD and .27" widescreen viewfinder let you see exactly

what your camcorder is recording. And even if you don’t have a widescreen

TV, you can still watch your HR Widescreen video on your standard television,

in letterbox format.

With Quick Start, you’ll never miss a shot again.

Simply push the Quick Start button to put your

camcorder in Quick Start mode. Push it again

and your camcorder begins to record in less

than a second. With Quick Start, it’s easy to capture

the spontaneous and surprising moments that

SHARE YOUR PHOTOS

With Print & Share, the DC50 camcorder allows you to

print photos directly to a PictBridge-compatible photo

printer, or quickly and easily transfer photos to your

computer.The camcorder also features a miniSD

Memory Card slot for high-capacity storage in a card that’s half

the size of a standard SD card.

AUDIO EXCELLENCE
