HDD Mirroring Kit
Reference Guide
The HDD Mirroring Kit enables you to store the same data on two hard disks that are set to
the machine. When one of the hard disks malfunctions, the machine automatically accesses
the other hard disk, enabling you to prevent data loss. If you are using the HDD Data
Encryption & Mirroring Kit, you can encrypt the data stored in the hard disks and increase
the security.
NOTE
To enable this function, the HDD Mirroring Kit and the additional hard disks must be set
to the machine. For information on setting the HDD Mirroring Kit and the hard disks,
contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
Status Indicators
The status indicators indicate the status of the hard disks that are set to the
machine. There are two types of status indicators, as shown below.
•Access Status Indicator (Green)
Indicates the access status of the hard disks.
•Error Indicator (Red)
Indicates the error status of the hard disks.
IMPORTANT
If the red status indicator of the hard disk is lit, the hard disk may have failed. Contact
your local authorized Canon dealer.
NOTE
The location of the status indicator may differ, depending on the model you are using.

Touch Panel Display
When data from one hard disk is being copied to another, a bar that shows the
copy status and the following message are displayed on the touch panel display.
Do not turn OFF the main power switch when data is being copied.

Error Messages
If an error occurs on the hard disk during the startup process of the machine or
when using the HDD Mirroring function, an error message is displayed on the touch
panel display. If the error message still appears after you turn OFF the main power
of the machine and then ON again, contact your local authorized Canon dealer.

Cannot access the hard disk.
If the optional removable hard disk is in use, check that it is connected, then
restart the machine.
If this error continues to occur, contact your service representative.
