BRx7 User Manual
The BRx7 is an all‐new mul‐frequency, mul‐GNSS smart antenna. The
BRx7 provides robust performance and high precision in a compact and
rugged package. With mulple wireless communicaons ports and an open
GNSS interface, the BRx7 can be used in a variety of operang modes.
Use the BRx7 as a precise base staon for sending RTK to your exisng
rover network. Turn BRx7 into a lightweight and easy‐to‐use rover by
connecng it to your base via UHF radio or cellular network. Use the built‐
in web user interface (WebUI) to control, manage, and upgrade the BRx7
with new rmware and acvaons. BRx7 is Athena®‐enabled and Atlas®‐
capable.
Powered by the Phantom™ 40 OEM board, the BRx7 supports 800+
channels and can simultaneously track all satellite signals including GPS,
GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC (IRNSS), making them robust
and reliable.
BRx7 comes standard with two long‐life lithium baeries providing up
to 12 hours of operaon. The baeries are hot‐swappable, and may
be changed while working, maximizing your eciency and Return on
Investment (ROI).
The BRx7 combines Athena GNSS engine and Atlas L‐band correcon
technologies with a sophiscated WebUI, oering an unparalleled level of
customer‐friendly performance.
The ruggedized antenna is designed for very challenging environments and
meets IP67‐standard requirements.
The BRx7 is the ideal posioning system to use in land or marine survey,
GIS, mapping, and construcon. Together with SureFix™ advanced
processor, the BRx7 delivers high‐delity RTK quality informaon that
results in guaranteed precision with virtually 100% reliability.

Carlson Software
The BRx7 receiver is powered by the Athena RTK technology. The BRx7
provides state‐of‐the‐art RTK performance when receiving correcons
from a stac base staon or network RTK correcon system. With
mulple connecvity opons, the BRx7 allows for RTK correcons to be
received over radio, cell modem, Wi‐Fi, Bluetooth, or serial connecon.
BRx7 delivers cenmeter‐level accuracy with virtually instantaneously
inializaon mes and cung‐edge robustness in challenging
environments.
Athena RTK is next‐generaon RTK engine designed to support all available
constellaons and takes advantage of available new signals. Athena was
designed to seamlessly integrate into exisng product porolios and
supports all major industry correcon formats and standards.
Athena RTK can be added to the BRx7 as an acvaon.
Athena RTK has the following benets:
• Improved Inializaon me ‐ Performing inializaons in less than 15
seconds at beer than 99.9% of the me.
• Robustness in dicult operang environments ‐ Extremely high
producvity under the most aggressive of geographic and landscape‐
oriented environments.
• Performance on long baselines ‐ Industry‐leading posion stability for
long baseline applicaons.

The Atlas system delivers world‐wide cenmeter‐level correcon data over
L‐band communicaon satellites. BRx7 users can experience sub‐decimeter
posioning performance anywhere on earth, without the need to be near
a GNSS or communicaon infrastructure.
With Atlas, the posioning accuracy does not degrade as a funcon of
distance to a base staon, as the data content is not composed of a single
base staon’s informaon, but an enre network’s informaon.
Atlas L‐band is Hemisphere’s industry leading correcon service, which
can be added to the BRx7 as a subscripon. Atlas L‐band has the following
benets:
• Posioning accuracy ‐ Compeve posioning accuracies down to
4cm RMS in certain applicaons.
• Posioning sustainability ‐ Cung edge posion quality maintenance
in the absence of correcon signals, using Hemisphere’s patented
technology.
• Scalable service levels ‐ Capable of providing virtually any accuracy,
precision, and repeatability level in the 4cm to 50cm range.
• Convergence me ‐ Industry‐leading convergence mes of 10‐40
minutes.
• Global Ionospheric Model ‐ Real‐me ionospheric acvity and data
is sent to the receiver and allows Atlas‐capable devices to adjust
accordingly, providing excellent convergence performance.
WARNING
Your BRx7 is equipped with a UHF radio. If you choose to use the radio, you
may need to obtain a license.

Carlson Software
aRTK is an innovave feature available in Carlson’s BRx7 Smart Antenna
that greatly migates the impact of land‐based communicaon instability.
Powered by Hemisphere’s Atlas L‐band system service, aRTK provides an
addional layer of communicaon redundancy to RTK users, assuring that
producvity is not impacted by intermient data connecvity.
BRx7 receives the aRTK augmentaon correcon data over satellite,
while also receiving the land‐ based RTK correcon data. With this, the
receiver internally operates with two sources of RTK correcon, creang
one addional layer of correcon redundancy as compared to typical RTK
systems.
Once this process is established (a few seconds), the receiver can operate
in the absence of either correcon source. The receiver can connue
generang RTK posions if the land‐based RTK correcon source becomes
unavailable for a period of me.
SureFix is an addional processor that runs in combinaon with the RTK
engine and provides high delity quality indicators to users.
The SureFix processor takes several inputs, such as GNSS data, data
preprocessing results, and generated RTK soluons. Using all the available
informaon and funconal and stochasc analysis methods, SureFix
determines the quality of the current RTK engine soluon.
Shown as SureFix quality indicators, these indicators are combined with
the RTK soluon before being provided to the user. At the end of the
process, the user has access to high delity informaon about the quality
of the RTK soluon.
