1. Open an app that uses the compass.
2. Move the RT4 around in the air so that it is oriented in dierent
direcons and angles. An eecve way to assure this is properly
done is to move the RT4 back and forth in a sideways gure 8 for
approximately 30 seconds.

Power Management
Power
Management
The RT4 runs on baery power, using a rechargeable, Li-Ion baery pack. A
non-removable, internal baery pack is an opon.
Charging the Baery Pack(s)
For instrucons on how to insert and charge the removable baery
pack, refer to Chapter 1, Install the Baery Pack. For tablets that have
both a removable baery pack and an oponal internal baery pack, the
intelligent internal baery charging circuit rst charges the baery pack
with the least amount of energy. When this baery pack comes to the
same level as the other baery pack, then both baery packs are charged
at the same me unl they are both fully charged.
Baery packs are charged most eciently at room temperature (68°F or
20°C). They will not charge if it is too hot or too cold.
Baery Status and Management
To nd out how much baery life you have le, tap on the baery icon at
the boom of the desktop screen. The amount of charge le as a percent
and the status of each baery is shown. The cumulave amount of baery
life le for installed baeries and the approximate amount of me baery
power will last is also shown. The amount of me le varies depending on
what you are doing with the unit.
Baery Life
Baery life on a full charge can be 12 hours or more. This varies depending
on whether or not you also have an oponal internal baery, the
applicaons used, backlight usage, and radio usage. The oponal internal
baery adds 5-6 extra hours of baery life.
The shelf life for baery packs is about one year. The baery packs should
be recharged at least once per year. This prevents the baery packs from
discharging to a level that might damage the baeries. Baery packs
that are not recharged at least every year, could fail to work or may have
reduced capacity. Baery packs typically last 1,000 to 3,000 charging
cycles.
