The FOCUS HD uid head is the ideal support for the latest smaller, lighter
high-performance cameras weighing from 0 to 12 kg (0 to 26 lbs).
Extremely compact and lightweight, the innovave FOCUS HD features a
connuously variable uid damping system on both pan and lt movements
and an unrivaled patented variable counterbalance which brings its
range of use to cover all exisng ENG and lighter high-performance
cameras.
The FOCUS HD head comes equipped with a quick release sliding camera
plate, illuminated spirit level and telescopic pan bar. Its lng range is +/-
90° with perfect response throughout the enre lt range. It interfaces with
all 100 mm bowl base tripods and supports.
The extreme ruggedness and versality together with a superior
quality/price rao make the FOCUS HD the best possible support for news
Operators and Videographers.
• Before using your new FOCUS HD, please read the user manual.
• Before installing the Fluid Head on the Tripod check the Tripod stability.
• Verify that the camera payload (including lens and all accessories) is
below the maximum capacity of the Fluid Head.
• Before mounng the camera make sure that the Fluid Head is in perfect
operave condions with no apparent damages.

3. FLUID HEAD SETUP
1 - Place the FOCUS HD on your tripod by loosening the e-down
knob (11) under the Fluid Head and level using the level bubble (9).
In low light condions, press buon (9) for light.
2 - Connect the pan bar (12) to the Fluid Head ghtening the lever (2) on
the pan bar aachment and select your desired operang angle.
The telescopic pan bar lenght can be adjusted via lever (3).
3 - Lock both pan and lt brakes (5 and 6), turn both lt drag selector
(8) and counterbalance knob (10) to the minimum level.
4 - Open completely the camera plate lock lever (7) to release the camera
plate (1).
5 - Aach the camera plate (1) to the boom of the camera and
ghten the clamping screw to secure the camera, centering the camera
plate on the camera, keeping the center of gravity posion in mind.
6 - Place the camera sideways on top of the FOCUS HD, the wedge
plate will lock into place: The camera plate locking lever (7) will click
into an intermediate posion, so that you can slide the camera back &
forth to the best posion.
7 - Hold the camera in horizontal posion with the pan bar (12) and release
the lt brake lever (6). To nd the correct center of gravity posion,
slide the camera plate (1) back & forth ll you have achieved the
desired balance. Lock the camera plate lever (7) all the way trough.
8 - Set the counterbalance system by turning the balance knob clockwise
(10) to appropriate tension. The camera has to stay put at any lt angle.
Eventually ne tune by adjusng the sliding plate.
9 - Unlock the pan brake lever (5) and set the uid drag control by
adjusng selectors (4) and (8).
10 - When bubble light fails it is me to replace the baeries (9). Pull out
the bubble light baery tray.

4. TECHNICAL DATA
With indoor use, when needed, just clean the FOCUS HD and tripod with a
so cloth.
Dirt accumulated during storage may be removed using a brush or Air
duster.
CARTONI products‘ main mechanisms are sealed as they are built for
professional outdoor use.
However, use under rough condions will require special care. Salt water is
very corrosive and can cause extreme damages. In atempt to avoid damage
the Fluid Head should be washed o with fresh water at the earliest oppor-
tunity and dried before storage. Sand and dirt are abrasive and should be
removed using a semi-s brush or Air duster.
Disconnect level bubble baery during long term storage.
All CARTONI Fluid Heads & Pedestals have a free of charge three (3) year
warranty.
Register your product at www.cartoni.com within 30 days from date of rst
purchase/invoice to receive further two (2) year warranty for the unsurpas-
sed free ve (5) year warranty.

Tripods, spreaders, dollies and all accessories are guaranteed one (1) year
from the date of rst purchase/invoice.
CARTONI warrant that the product supplied will - under proper use - be free
from defects in workmanship and materials and agrees that it will, at its
opon, either repair or replace any defecve part within duraon of warran-
ty from date of rst purchase with no labour charge.
This warranty does not apply to any CARTONI product that has been
damaged in shipping or handling, abused, misused, operated contrary to
instrucons for use, neglected, normal wear or tear, modied or changed in
design or construcon or serviced by unauthorized pares.
Repairs or misuse by any unauthorized pares will void this warranty.
Warranty claims must be submied – in wring - to the factory for
vericaon or to an authorized distributor/dealer designated by CARTONI.
It is the end user’s responsibilty when ordering to ensure that the products
ordered conform to his requirements.
All freight of product to CARTONI must be prepaid. All implied warranes
are limited to the me period set forth herein & subject to change without
noce.

La Testa Fluida FOCUS HD è il supporto ideale per le video camere di ultima
generazione con un peso da 0 a 12 kg. Estremamente compatta e leggera, la
testata FOCUS HD è dotata di dispositivo a fluido continuo sia sul
movimento verticale che orizzontale e di un sistema brevettato di
bilanciamento continuo del peso della telecamera riuscendo a supportare
tutte le telecamere ENG e video camere presenti sul mercato.
La Testa FOCUS HD è dotata di una slitta ad attacco rapido, di bolla di
livellamento illuminata e di una leva telescopica.
L’angolo operativo è di +/- 90° con un bilanciamento perfetto su tutto l’arco
di movimento verticale.
Si interfaccia con tutti i treppiedi e supporti con base da 100 mm.
L’estrema robustezza e versatilità, assieme ad un eccellente rapporto qualità
prezzo rendono la testata FOCUS HD il supporto ideale per gli operatori di
news e documentari.

una posizione sicura e stabile

della Testa Fluida

3. MONTAGGIO TESTA FLUIDA
1 - Livella la Testa Fluida FOCUS HD sul tuo treppiede allentando il
pomello di serraggio (11) soo la Testa ulizzando la bolla di
livellamento (9). Se necessario, premere il pulsante (9) per illuminare
la bolla.
2 - Collega la leva telescopica (12) alla Testata stringendo l’aacco leva (2) e
seleziona l’angolo preferito di ulizzo. La lunghezza della leva
telescopica può essere regolata ulizzando il comando di estensione (3).
3 - Blocca entrambi i freni orizzontale e vercale (5 e 6), e posiziona il
seleore uido vercale (8) ed il seleore di bilanciamento (10) al livello
minimo.
4 - Apri completamente la leva rilascio piastra (7) per scollegare la piastra
aacco camera (1).
5 - Collega la piastra aacco camera (1) alla base della telecamera e
assicurala stringendo la vite di ssaggio; cerca di posizionare la piastra
centrandola soo la videocamera, facendo caso alla posizione del centro
di gravità.
6 - Posiziona la videocamera lateralmente sulla Testa FOCUS HD, la
piastra a cuneo si aggancerà: la leva di rilascio piastra (7) scaerà in una
posizione centrale alla piastra, la camera potrà ancora scorrere avan e
indietro.
7 - Tieni la telecamera in posizione orizzontale con la leva telescopica (12)
e rilascia il freno vercale (6). Trova la posizione correa del centro di
gravità facendo scorrere la piastra aacco camera (1) nché non sen
di aver trovato il bilanciamento desiderato. Blocca la leva di rilascio
piastra (7) no a ne corsa.
8 - Regola il sistema di controbilanciamento girando in senso orario il
seleore (10) no a raggiungere la tensione appropriata. La
videocamera deve rimanere ferma con qualsiasi angolo di inclinazione.
Eventualmente perfeziona la regolazione facendo scorrere nuovamente
la piastra aacco camera (1).
9 - Sblocca il freno orizzontale (5) e regola i seleori di uido orizzontale e
vercale (4 e 8).
