sidesandslopescanbedangerous.Avoidimproperoperation!
Readandfollowtheinstructionsgiveninthesectiontitled "Hitl-
sideOperation"inthismanualbeforeoperatingyourtractor.
Avoidoperatingridinglawnmoweronhillsidesandslopes.Tominimizethepossibility
ofaccidentswhileoperatingonhillsand/orroughterrain,obeya combinationofrules,
practicesandgoodcommonsense.
Theseinclude:
1. Reading,understanding,andobeyingallwrittensafetymessagesappearingondecals
onthemachineandinoperator'smanuals,
2. Learningfromyouroperator'smanualandcarefullyfromEXPERIENCEhowtoop-
erateyourridinglawnmowercorrectly.Knowyourridinglawnmower'slimitations.
3.Knowingtheterrainonwhichyouareoperatingyourridinglawnmower.Thereare
terrainconditionsonwhichyourridinglawnmowercannotbeoperated!

Knowtheterrainonwhichyouareworking.Findhiddenobstaclesbywalking
throughandinspectingtheareapriortooperatingyourridinglawnmoweronit.Mark
obstacles,suchas,rocks,rutsorholeswitha 6 ftlongpoleandredflagandstaywell
clearoftheseobstacleswhenoperating.
Operateyourridinglawnmowerata groundspeedslowenoughtoinsurecomplete
controlatalltimes.
Regulatethetravelcontrolleverslowlyandsmoothlytomaintainthissafespeed.
Alwaysdriveina forwarddirectionwhenproceedingdownhill.Neverdriveupa hill,
Ifnecessary,backupa hilltothedesiredposition.Alwaysbackuploadingrampsandtilt
bedtrailers.Ifnecessarytoturnwhileona hill, alwaysturndownward.
