Tool Cutting edge - Replace (J.50.B.60.64 - F.10.A.30)
435, 445, 445CT
1. To replace welded cutting edges, raise the bucket to
an acceptable height and place supports to hold the
bucket in position.
2. Use carbon arc rodoranacetylenetorchtoremove
the welds that hold the cutting edge. Be careful not
to distort the bucket while cutting the welds.
3. When removing the weld at he rear of the cutting
edge, do not cut through the bottom of the bucket.
(1) Cutting edge to be removed
BP97G006 1
4. After the cutting edge has been removed, use a
grinder to remove any welds or extra metal on the
bucket that will prevent a new cutting edge from
fitting correctly.
5. Position a new cutting edge on the bucket. Use
C-clamps to hold the cutting edge in proper position.
6. See Tool Bucket - General specification
(J.50.B.60.62 - D.40.A.10) for weld specifications
for the bucket being repaired. Use E7018 welding
rod or equivalent welding wire.
7. To replace bolt-on cutting edges, raise the bucket to
an acceptable height and place supports to hold the
bucket in position.
8. Remove the nuts, plow bolts, and 1860 mm (73 in)
cutting edge from the bucket.
9. Install the new 1860 mm (73 in) cutting edge, plow
bolts and nuts to the bucket.
