Ensure thatthesurface is level, cleanand
free of water, our, etc. Vibration during
operation may cause theappliance to
move.
• Donot place theblender on or neara hot
gasor electric burner, or where it could
touch a heated oven.

assembled before use. Refer to assembly
and operation (Page9).
• Use only theblender jug and lid supplied
with theblender.
• Alwaysensure theblender lid is rmly
positioned on theblender jug before
operating.

when in use.
• Alwaysensure theblender is turned o
by pressing the‘Power’ button on the
control panel. Then switch theappliance
oatthepower outlet and unplug
thecord. Makesure themotor and
blades havecompletely stopped before
attempting to movetheappliance, or
when theblender is not in use and before
disassembling, cleaning and storing.
• Donot operate theappliance
continuously with heavy loadsfor more
than30 seconds. Allow themotor to rest
for 1 minute between each use. None of
therecipes in this instruction book are
considered a heavy load.
• If food becomes lodged around the
blending blade, turn theblender o
by pressing the“Power” button on the
control panel. Then switch theappliance
oatthepower outlet and unplug
thecord. Makesure themotor and
blades havecompletely stopped before
removing thejug from themotor base.
Use a spatula to dislodgeor stir thefood
before continuing. Donot use ngers as
theblades are sharp.
• Keep hands, ngers, hair, clothing, as
well asspatulasand other utensilsaway
from theblender jug during operation.
Never place your ngers, handsor
utensilsinsidetheblender jug without
unplugging theappliance from the
power outlet.
• Becareful when handling theblending
bladeassembly astheblades are very
sharp. Mishandling of theblades may
cause injury.
• Donot removetheblender jug from the
motor base whilst in operation.
• Donot use theblender for anything other
thanfood and/or beveragepreparation.
• Donot operate theblender without food
or liquid in theblender jug.
• Donot process hot or boiling liquids.
Allow to cool before placing into the
blender jug.
• Donot subject theblender jug to
extremes of hot or cold, for example
placing a cold jug in hot water or vice
versa.
• Keep theappliance clean. Refer to care
and cleaning (Page15).

your blender to not only crush ice to a snow

1. Patented extra wide blades
Thestainless steel ice-crushing blades are
extra wide, reaching ingredients all theway
to thesides of thejug. Combined with an
additional set of dual blades, all ingredients
are completely and evenly processed every
time.
2. Unique jug design
Thejug hasbeen designed with dual ribs
which assist theextra wideblades by
creating movement of ingredients. Food is
forced through theblades, up thesides of
thejug, then mixed back downthrough the
blades in a continuous circularmovement
ensuring perfectly blended results.

Before rst use
Before using your blender for therst
time, removeany packaging material and
promotional labels. Ensure theappliance
is switched oatthepower outlet and the
power cord is unplugged.
Wash thelid, inner lid, blender jug and
bladeassembly (refer to Disassembling the
blender jug on Page13) of theblender in
warm, soapy water with a soft cloth. Rinse
and dry thoroughly. Donot place parts
in thedishwasher (with theexception of
theblender jug). Theblender jug may be
washed in thedishwasher. Ensure thelid
and bladeassembly havebeen removed
from theblender jug before placing into the
dishwasher. Themotor base canbewiped
with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
NOTE:
• When using your blender for the
rst time, you may notice an odour
coming from the motor. This is
normal and will dissipate with use.
• The blending blades are extremely
sharp. Avoid any contact with ngers
and hands.
Assembling and attaching the blender
Step 1.
Place themotor base on a at, dry surface
such asa bench top. Ensure thatthemotor
base is switched oatthepower outlet and
thepower cord is unplugged.
Step 2.
Toreassembletheblender jug, replace the
silicon seal onto thebladeassembly (see
Page14 - Fig 1). Upturn theblender jug and
insert thebladeassembly housing into the
jug base (see Page14 - Fig 2). Twist the1/4
turn BladeRemoval System anticlockwise
until rmly locked into position.
Step 3.
Turn theblender jug uprightand insert on
to themotor base. Thehandleof theblender
jug canbepositioned to theleft or right
hand sideof theappliance.
Step 4.
Add food or liquid into theblender jug
ensuring not to exceed the‘MAX’ mark. Place
theblender lid rmly into position on the
top of theblender jug. Insert theclearinner
lid into theblender lid and turn clockwise to
lock into position (see Fig 1).

NOTE:
The blender features a patented assist
lid. This allows the lid to t tightly onto
the blender jug, avoiding displacement
during operation. The ring pull design
allows the user to easily remove the lid
with a simple leverage action (See Fig 1).

Step 5.
Plug thepower cord into a 230/240V power
outlet and switch on.
Step 6.
Press the‘Power’ button on thefarleft of
thecontrol panel to turn theblender on.
The‘Power’ button will illuminate and ash.
TheLCD timer screen will illuminate with ‘00’
displayed.
NOTE:
Do not ll the blender jug above the
‘MAX’ line. When the blender jug is lled
at or near the ‘MAX’ line place one hand
on the blender lid to avoid displacement
of the lid during operation.
Step 7.
Select therequired speed (1 to 5) by pressing
thecorresponding speed button. The
blender will start to operate and theselected
speed button will illuminate. The‘Power’
button will illuminate and cease to ash. The
‘Stop’ button will illuminate and ash. The
LCD timer screen will start counting upwards
in one second increments until 120 seconds
is reached.
NOTE:
Operate the blender only for the
appropriate amount of time required
– do not over process.
NEVER PLACE ANYTHING OTHER THAN FOOD AND LIQUIDS IN THE
BLENDER BL 8010 WHILST THE MOTOR IS RUNNING.

Step 8.
When 120 secondsis reached, theblender
will automatically cease to operate and the
selected speed button and ‘Stop’ button
illumination will goout. The‘Power’ button
will illuminate and ash. After a few seconds
theLCD timer screen will revert to ‘00’.
NOTE:
• The blender will automatically
stop blending after 120 seconds
(2 minutes).
This is a safety feature.
• To stop blending at any time, press
the ‘Stop’ button or the selected
speed button. The ‘Power’ button
can also be pressed, but this will
also turn the appliance o and all
illuminations will go out.
• The speed can be changed at any
time during the blending process.
Each time a new speed is selected
its button will illuminate and the
previous speed button illumination
will go out. The number of seconds
on the LCD timer screen is not
interrupted and will continue to
count upwards to 120 seconds
unless interrupted.
Step 9.
Theblender features twoadditional
functions, ‘ICE CRUSH’ and ‘SMOOTHIE’.
These are pre-programmed cycles which
automatically adjust theblending time
and speedsto optimise blending results.
Select therequired function by pressing the
corresponding function button.
Theblender will start to operate and the
selected function button will illuminate. The
‘Power’ button will illuminate and cease to
ash. The‘Stop’ button will illuminate and
ash. TheLCD timer screen will start counting
downwardsin one second increments until
‘00’ is displayed.
When ‘00’ secondsis reached, theblender
will automatically cease to operate and
thefunction button and ‘Stop’ button
illumination will goout. The‘Power’ button
will illuminate and ash.
NOTE:
• To stop blending at any time, press
the ‘Stop’ button or the selected
function button. The ‘Power’ button
can also be pressed, but this will
also turn the appliance o and all
illuminations will go out.
• The maximum amount of ice cubes
the blender can blend at any one
time is 1 standard ice tray or 250g.

Step 10.
For ingredients thatrequire short bursts of
power, select the‘PULSE’ function. The‘PULSE’
button will illuminate and remain illuminated
whilethebutton is depressed. When this
function is selected, theLCD timer screen
will illuminate and count upwardsin one
second increments during pulsing. Press the
‘PULSE’ button in short bursts until blending
is complete.
NOTE:
Use the ‘PULSE’ button when the food
that is being processed is too thick or
coarse to circulate within the blender
jug.
Step 11.
Attheend of use, alwaysensure theblender
is turned oby pressing the‘Power’ button
on thecontrol panel. Then switch the
appliance oatthepower outlet and unplug
thecord. Ensure themotor and blades have
completely stopped before attempting to
movetheappliance, or when theblender
is not in use and before disassembling,
cleaning and storing.
NOTE:
• During the blending process,
ingredients may stick to the sides
of the blender jug. To push the
food back onto the blades, press
the ‘Power’ button on the control
panel and switch o at the power
outlet and remove the power cord.
Remove the lid and use a plastic
spatula to scrape down the sides
of the jug. Replace the lid before
recommencing blending.
• If any moisture or liquid appears
on top of the motor base during
blending, press the ‘Power’ button
on the control panel, switch o at
the power outlet and remove the
power plug. Remove the blender jug.
Wipe the motor base immediately
with a dry cloth or paper towelling to
absorb the liquid. Check the blender
jug is correctly assembled.

Step 1.
Alwaysensure theblender is o by pressing
the‘Power’ button on thecontrol panel. Then
switch oatthepower outlet and unplug the
power cord.
Step 2.
Removetheblender jug from themotor base
by grasping thehandleand lifting thejug in
anupward direction.
Step 3.
Removethebladeassembly by upturning
theblender jug and twisting the1/4 turn
BladeRemoval System clockwise for 1/4 of a
turn to unlock (see Fig 1), then lift upwards
and away from thebase of theblender jug.
Thecircularplastic surround attached to the
base of theblender jug is not removable.
Step 4.
Removethesilicon seal from theblade
assembly.
NOTE:
The blender features a 1/4 turn Blade
Removal System for the easy removal of
the blade for cleaning.

Reassembling your blender jug after
cleaning
Step 1.
Ensure all parts are cleanand completely dry.
Step 2.
Toreassembletheblender, replace thesilicon
seal onto thebladeassembly (see Fig 1).
Upturn theblender jug and insert theblade
assembly housing into thejug base (see Fig
2), ensuring to aligntheindicator symbol
() on theinsideof thejug base, with
theindicator symbol ( ) on theblade
housing. Twist the1/4 turn BladeRemoval
System anticlockwise in thedirection of the
indicator symbol ( ) until rmly locked
into position.

BE CAREFUL WHEN HANDLING THE BLENDING BLADES AS THEY ARE SHARP.
MISHANDLING OF THE BLADES MAY CAUSE INJURY.

Cleaning the motor base
• Wipethemotor base with a soft, damp
cloth then dry thoroughly.
• Wipeany excess food particles from the
power cord.
NOTE:
Do not use abrasive souring pads or
cleaners when cleaning the motor base
as they may scratch the surface.
Cleaning the blender jug, lid, inner lid
and blade assembly
• Wash all parts in warm soapy water witxh
a soft cloth. Use a kitchen bottlebrush to
dislodgestubborn foods. Rinse and dry
thoroughly.
NOTE:
The blender jug can be washed in the
dishwasher. Ensure the lid and blade
assembly have been removed from
the blender jug before placing into the
dishwasher.
Removing stubborn or strong food
stains and odours
Strong smelling foodssuch asgarlic, sh and
somevegetables such ascarrots may leave
anodour or stain on theblender jug and
lid. Toremove, soak blender jug and lid for
5 minutes in warm soapy water. Then wash
with a mild detergent and warm water, rinse
well and dry thoroughly.
Storage
Store your blender uprightwith theblender
jug, lid and inner lid assembled and inserted
on themotor base or besideit. Donot place
anything on top.

Do
• Use Low speeds(1-3 – Mix, Chop and
Blend) for drink or cocktail making and
emulsions such asmayonnaise, dressings,
marinades and foodsthatrequire mixing
until just combined, such asbatters.
• Use High speeds(4-5 – Puree and Liquify)
for pureeing soupsand aerating liquids.
• Use ‘PULSE’ for foodsthatonly require
short bursts of power such aschopping
nuts.
• Use ‘ICE CRUSH’ for ice crushing. The
maximum amount of ice cubes the
blender canblend atany one timeis 1
standard ice try or 250g.
• Use ‘SMOOTHIE’ for drink making using
both liquid and solid ingredients
• Ensure all foodsare cut into cubes
(approx. 2-3cm squares) where
appropriate to achieveaneven result.
• Donot put more than2 cupsof warm
ingredients into theblender before
blending commences. After theblending
process hasbegun and theblades are
turning you may slowly add another 11/2
cupsof ingredients through theopening
in thelid if desired.
• Thick mixtures puree more eciently if
theblender is 1/4 to 1/2 full.
• When using several ingredients, place
liquid ingredients in theblender jug
before solid ingredients, unless specied
in therecipe.
• When blending thick or dry mixtures it
may benecessary to stop theblender
and scrapedownthesides of theblender
jug with a plastic or rubber spatula, once
or twice during blending. Donot use
metal utensilsasthey may damagethe
blades or blender jug.
Don’t
• Donot operate a heavy mixture for more
than30 seconds. For normal blending
tasks, for example, mayonnaise, dressings
etc., donot operate for longer than1
minute atone timewithout turning o
theblender and stirring theingredients,
and then continue blending.
• Donot operate theblender without
having theblender lid in position.
Toadd additional ingredients whilst
blending, removetheinner lid and place
ingredients through theopening in the
lid.
• Donot ll theblender jug abovethe
‚MAX‘ line. When theblender jug is lled
ator nearthe‚MAX‘ line, place one hand
on theblender lid to avoid displacement
of thelid during operation.
• Donot place any objects, other than
food or liquid, into theblender whilst the
motor is running.
• Donot use theblender jug to store food.
• Theblender will not knead dough or
mash potatoes.
• Donot removetheblender jug whilethe
blender is operating. Alwaysmakesure
theblender is o by pressing the‘Power’
button, switch othepower atthepower
outlet and unplug thepower cord from
thepower outlet.
• Donot overload theblender with more
thanthespecied quantity of ingredients
asdoing so could cause themotor to
stall. Turn theblender o by pressing
the‘Power’ button on thecontrol panel,
switch othepower atthepower outlet
and unplug thecord. Removea portion
of themixture from theblender jug
before continuing.
• Donot place hot or boiling ingredients
into theblender; allow to cool before
placing into theblender jug.

TROUBLE SHOOTING CHART
Problem Solution
Motor doesn’tstart or bladedoesn’trotate • Check thatthepower plug is securely inserted into the
power outlet and switched on.
• Check thattheblender jug and lid are securely locked
into position.
• Check thatthe‘Power’ button and selected function or
speed setting is illuminated.
• Besure to press only one speed or function button ata
time.
Food is unevenly choppedEither too much food is being chopped atone timeor the
pieces are not small enough. Try cutting food into smaller
pieces of even sizeand processing a smaller amount per
batch. For best results thefood should bechopped into
pieces no larger than2cm.
Food is chopped too ne or is wateryThefood is over processed. Use brief pulses or process for a
shorter time.
Food sticksto bladeProcessing too much food. Turn theblender oby pressing
the‘Power’ button on thecontrol panel. Then switch oat
thepower outlet and unplug thepower cord. When the
bladestopsrotating, removetheblender lid and remove
somefood with a spatula.
Blender OverloadedThemotor is protected from burning out by anautomatic,
temperature operated, cut-out switch. If theblender is
overloaded or operated continuously for too long, the
motor may overheat. If this happens, thebuttons will start to
ash and thesafety cut-out switch will prevent theblender
from operating. Tooperate theblender again, you must
switch oatthepower outlet, unplug and allow to cool for
approximately 30 minutes. Once themotor hasfully cooled,
it is ready for use again.
