Introduction
The user manual will guide you through the operations of the DVB-S MPEG2 SD Set Top Box Model CSR-201SP.
This product is a high-performance & cost-effective DVB-S satellite receiver. It provides users access to Free-to-air (FTA)
television channels & radio services.
Main Features:

Safety Precautions
WARNING:
➢Do not use this STB where contact with or immersion in water is possible. Do not use near flower vase, washbowls,
kitchen sinks, laundry tubs, swimming pools, etc.
➢Do not put the candle or lamp stand on the cabinet; otherwise, there is a danger of fire.
➢The unit should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked
on the unit. If you are not sure of the type of power supply (for example, 120 or 230 V) in your home, consult your
local dealer or local power company.
➢This product contains sensitive electronic components, do not open cabinet and touch the insides. Consult your local
dealer for technical service if opening of the STB is somehow required.
➢Unit Cleaning: After the unit power is turned off, you can clean the cabinet, panel and remote control with a soft cloth
lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution.
➢Attachments: Never add any attachments and/or equipment without the manufacturer’s consent; such additions may
result in the risk of fire, electric shock, or other personal injury.
➢Location: Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation to protect the STB from overheating. Do not
block these openings or allow them to be blocked by placing the STB on a bed, sofa, or other similar surface, nor
should it be placed over a radiator or heat register.
➢Power-Cord Protection: Place the power-supply cord out of the way, where it will not be walked upon. Please pay
special attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the unit.
➢Object and Liquid Entry: Never put objects of any kind into this STB through openings, as it may touch dangerous
points or short-circuit parts that could result in electric shock. Never spill any liquid in the STB.
➢Parts Replacement: When the STB needs to be repaired, the user should make sure that this STB is serviced by the
manufacturer or authorized service center. Use only the manufacturer-specified spares to avoid electric shock or any
other hazards.
➢Safety Check: After all the maintenance and repairs are done, user should request the service technician to conduct
the overall safety check to ensure that the machine is in the proper condition.

Installation Diagram:

Basic Operation
1. Turn on STB
▪Make the connection as given in connection diagram.
▪Turn on the STB by switching on the adaptor mains power supply.
2. Standby
▪Press Standby key on RCU for the STB to enter in to the Standby state.
▪In Standby state, press Standby key on RCU again to recall the last channel.
▪User can also disconnect the device’s main power to end the Standby state.
3. Channel Up/Channel Down
▪Press CH+/CH- on RCU to change channel.
4. Volume Up/Volume Down -
▪Press VOL+/VOL- to adjust volume.
5. Number
▪Use 0 ~ 9 number key and press [OK] on the RCU to change channel.
6. Mute
▪Press MUTE key on RCU to mute the sound.
▪Press MUTE key on RCU again to restore sound.
7. Audio
▪Press AUDIO key on RCU to open the “Audio Setting” window on the screen.
8. TV/Radio
▪In TV mode, press TV/RADIO key on RCU can switch to Radio mode.
▪In Radio mode, press TV/RADIO key on RCU to switch to TV mode.
9. Channel List
▪Press the OK key on RCU while the program is playing in full screen to open channel list.
10. Recall
▪Press RECALL key on RCU to switch to the last viewed channel.

11. FAV
▪Press FAV key on RCU to open the Fav Channel Group (Genre) List.
▪Press FAV button two times, to select various Favourite genres like Entertainment, News etc, which you set
as Favourite.
▪Use Left/Right keys on RCU to select the required Favourite group.
12. Menu
▪Press MENU key on RCU to open the menu
▪Press MENU key again to either exit the current menu to last menu or close the window.
13. OK
▪Press [OK] key to open the channel list.
▪Use UP/DOWN keys to move highlight to select channel and press OK key to view the selected channel.
▪Use Left/Right keys for changing channel list page and select required channel using Up/Down keys and
press OK to play the highlighted channel.
14. EXIT
▪Press [EXIT] key to exit the current menu to last menu or close the window.

Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible Reasons

No power
Power adaptor not switched on.
Ensure mains power is present in mains socket and
adaptor is connected properly.

STB is in standby mode.

Installation
Once you have installed and connected the AV cable of the set top box with TV. Power on TV and set top box.
Press menu key on the RCU to display the Main Menu. This menu consists of 4 menu options as shown below
A. Channel
B. Satellite
C. System
D. Tools
1. Use the Left / Right key on RCU to move cursor to select the above-mentioned categories in main menu.
2. Then you can use up or down keys on RCU to select various sub-categories in the menu.
3. Use the OK key to confirm a selection and do the necessary action as mentioned in the installation manual.
4. To escape the menu system at any time, press EXIT key on the RCU or Menu button to go back to previous
menu screen.
A. Channel
Your set top box has been tuned to receive all the MPEG 2 SD DD Freedish channels.
Press Menu key on RCU to enter into the menu
mode and use left/right keys to toggle through
Channel menu:
A1. TV Channel
A2. Radio Channel
A3. Add Channel
In this Channel menu mode, you can manage
your TV/Radio channels, where you can delete,
move, set as favourite, sort, lock the channels as
per your convenience or requirement.

A1. TV Channel
1. Use up/down keys and go to TV Channel
and press OK button on RCU to view TV
Channel screen on the TV, here you can see
list of TV channels, which are tuned in the
Set Top Box.
2. Now, you can delete, move, set as
favourite, sort, lock the channels as per
your convenience or requirement by
following below steps.
A1a. Delete Channel:
1. In the TV Channel edition screen, use
up/down key on RCU to toggle through the
channel, which you want to delete and
press numeric key "1" on the RCU.
2. The screen will pop-up to enter password.
The default password is 0000. Enter this
default password to proceed the deletion
of the channels.
3. The channel will be marked with the
symbol “X" in red color.
4. In case, you want to delete more channels,
use up/down keys and go to the channel
that you want to delete and press “1” on
RCU to mark with symbol “X” for the
selected channels.
5. To confirm the deletion press EXIT on RCU
and you will see a confirmation message
saying –Are you sure to save?
6. Select either OK and press “OK” key on RCU
to delete the selected channels or go to
Cancel and press OK on RCU to exit without deletion of the channels.

A1b. Move channel:
1. In the edition channels screen, use
up/down buttons to toggle through
channel, which you want to move.
2. Press "2" on RCU and password screen will
popup. You can enter default password
“0000” which will allow you to edit.
3. You can see the channel marked with the
green symbol.
4. Use up/down key to move the selected
channel and press OK on RCU to move the selected channel to the specified location, where you want to move
and press OK button on RCU.
5. The pop-up screen will come saying “Are you sure to save? Ok / Cancel”. You can select OK and press OK
button RCU to confirm the move or you can select cancel and press OK button o RCU to exit without
moving.
6. Repeat above steps for those channels that you want to move.
A1c. Favorite Setting:
1. In the edition channels screen, locate the
channel you want to set as favorite and
press numeric key "3" on RCU.
2. You need to enter password to confirm
editing.
3. A favourite genre screen will pop-up on
the TV screen.
4. Use up/down key on RCU to select the
desired one of the seven favorite genres
based on the type of TV channel and press
OK on RCU.
5. The channel will be marked with the
favourite symbol.
6. Repeat the above steps with all those
channels that you want to set them as
favorite under various genre as per your
requirement for easy selection.

A1d. Sort Channels:
1. In the TV Channel edition screen, press
numeric key "6" on RCU.
2. You need to enter password to confirm
editing.
3. Below mentioned pop-up opens up on the
TV screen for sorting A-Z or Z-A and you
select A-Z and press OK.
4. All the channels will be sorted A-Z for your convenient selection.
A1e. Lock Channels:
1. In the TV Channel edition screen, press
numeric key "8" on RCU.
2. You need to enter password to confirm
editing.
3. Select OK and press “OK” key on RCU to
confirm lock, otherwise select cancel and
press OK on RCU.
4. Whenever this locked channel is selected
for viewing, one needs to enter password.
A2. Radio Channels:
1. Press Menu button on RCU to open
Channel menu on the TV screen.
2. Use up/down button to go to Radio
Channel and press OK
3. It will open Radio channel list
4. And you can follow the same procedure as
mentioned above in the TV Channel
section for the edition of Radio channels
accordingly as per your requirement.

A3. Add Channel:
1. In the Channel menu, select the option Add
Channel and press OK key on RCU.
2. The below Add Channel menu shall be
displayed on the TV Screen.
3. Enter the below details on the menu:
4. Satellite: Press OK to deploy the satellite
list, select the satellite you want to check
by using left / right keys, and press OK key
to select the satellite.
5. TP: Transponder, select the desired one
from the pre-program options.
6. TP Frequency: Input the value by using the numeric keys.
7. Symbol rate: Symbol rate of the current transponder.
8. Polarity: Vertical or Horizontal polarization.
9. Search: Select the desired mode for searching and press OK button on RCU.
B. Satellite:
1. Press Menu button on RCU and use
left/right keys to toggle through Satellite
symbol on the bottom menu
2. It opens the Satellite menu as shown in
the picture.
3. This Set Top Box is already pre-tuned for
all channels of DD FreeDish Satellite and
you don’t have tune the channels.
4. In case, there are any addition in this
FreeDish satellite, you can go to Auto Scan
sub-category on this Satellite menu and
carry out Auto Scan.
5. Auto Scan: Use up/down button on RCU and select Auto Scan

6. Press OK button on RCU to open Auto
Scan menu
7. Auto Scan screen opens up on TV
8. Select Satellite G-Sat 15 for DD Freedish
9. Search: Select Free
10. No need to change settings of Edit
Satellite for DD Freedish satellite.
11. Press OK on RCU to start search TV
channels and Radio channels and these
will be stores in the Set Top Box.
C. System
Press Menu key on RCU and use left/right key and
move to System menu. Here you can set these
parameters:
1. Language
2. TV System
3. Auto Shut Down
4. OSD Setting
5. Default Value
6. Parent Lock
7. Game
C1. Language
1. Select the desired language for menu using
left/right buttons on RCU.
2. Press OK button on RCU to set the selected
language for menu.

C2. TV System:
1. Under System menu, go to TV System
using up/down buttons on RCU.
2. Press OK button on RCU to open TV
System menu.
3. Select Auto or PAL for Indian TV system.
4. Press Menu for exit.

C3. Auto Shut Down:
1. Under System menu, go to Auto Shut
Down using up/down keys on RCU.
2. Press OK button on RCU to open Auto Shut
Down menu.
3. Using numeric keys on RCU, enter the
minutes after how much time, the Set Top
Box should be auto shut down, instead of
keeping it on for longer period.
4. Press OK on RCU to store the shut down
time.
5. Press Menu to exit.
C4. OSD Setting:
1. Under System menu, go to OSD setting
using up/down button on RCU.
2. Press OK on RCU to select OSD Setting
mode.
3. It will open OSD Setting menu.
4. Select Menu color as per your choice
using left/right keys on RCU.
5. Change Menu Transparency level by using
the arrow keys from 0% to 80% as per
your choice.
6. Press Menu button on RCU to save and exit.
C5. Default Value:
1. It is required to delete all the stored channels and bring back the set top box to the original situation.
2. You can only perform this function, when it is needed.
3. This feature should be done by the trained technician.

C6. Parent Lock
1. This function allows you to lock the
channel with a password in order to
prevent children from accessing the
channel.
2. You can protect your installed data and
information using the information using
the install lock.
3. Under System Menu, go to Parental Lock
using up/down buttons on RCU.
4. Select OK on RCU to open Parent Lock
menu.
5. Enter previous parent lock (default parent
lock is “0000”.
6. It will open the Parent Lock menu as shown here.
7. Set whether to lock / unlock Menu and Channel and enter new password twice as shown.
8. Press Menu button on RCU to store and exit.
C7. Games:
1. Under System menu, go to Game using
up/down button on RCU.
2. Press OK on RCU to select Game menu.
3. It will open Game menu.
4. In Game menu, you can see two games –
Othello and Push box
5. You can open the required game and play
the game using left/right and up/down
keys on RCU.

D. Tools
Press Menu key on RCU and use left/right keys to go to Tools menu on the bottom of the menu on the TV
Screen.
Tools menu will display below screen on TV:

3. Software Upgrade

You can enter details of the satellite for your future reference.
D3. Software Upgrade:
This feature is not applicable for the user.
