TubiCast Installation Manual
This user manual describes how to set up CSR-401HP for casting of YouTube, movies, photos &
videos from Android phones/tablets to TV set on WiFi using the TubiCast app. (Currently available
on Android phones/tablets).
1. Setup Requirements
Catvision CSR-401HP Set top Box with WiFi.
➢WiFi Network
➢Android Phone / Tablet

2. Network
2.1. Network Config.
➢Switch on STB and go to STB Menu.
➢From Main Menu go to Network and select WiFi.
2.2. WiFi Settings
The Network status would initially be in Disconnect state. Once WiFi connection is configured
successfully, the network status will change to Connect.
➢To configure WiFi, select WiFi Manager.

2.3. WiFi Manager
When this menu is opened, it lists the WiFi SSIDs available in the vicinity.
➢Select the one to which you have access.
2.4. WiFi Config.
➢Select the specific WiFi SSID, the password menu will open.
➢Enter the correct password.
➢Press yellow button of your STB remote to Save the password.
➢Press red button of your STB remote to Connect to WiFi.

3. TubiCast Setup
➢Download & install the TubiCast app. from Google Play Store.
(Currently available on Android phones/tablets)
➢You also can scan this QR code on your Android Phone/Tablet to download Tubicast App
in your Android Phone/Tablet and install it)
➢
➢Connect your mobile phone to the same WiFi network as done for the STB in WiFi
Manager.
This step is necessary for the phone to discover the STB and to use the TubiCast feature.
➢Once the mobile phone and STB are connected to the same WiFi network, open the
TubiCast app. on the phone.
➢In the "Device" tab at the bottom of the screen of your phone, you will see a device list
showing "DEMO_xxxx" under Connected Device. This confirms your app. is connected to
the STB.

4. TubiCast Features
4.1. Browser & YouTube
➢In the Sites tab, you can directly enter the URL. Example: www.youtube.com.
➢When you click a video on the browser, it will start playing on the phone screen and a red
“TubiCast” icon will pop up at the bottom of your mobile phone screen.
➢Click the red "window" icon. The video will get casted on to the TV screen.
*In YouTube you will get a pop-up to select video resolution 720p/360p. Set it according to your
preference.

4.2. Controlling TV Video
Once casting starts the Controller view will open in the App.
➢You can Play, Pause, Fast Forward, Fast Backward, Increase/Decrease Volume through the
controller buttons.
➢If you exit play, the content casted on TV will stop and the video will play in the browser
only.

4.3. Local Content Casting from your phone to the TV
➢Go to the "Various" tab.
➢Select the content from the mobile folders and click any Image/Video/Audio to play on
TV.
*Very high resolution or some formats might not be supported.

Frequently Asked Questions
I can't connect the Set Top Box (STB) to the WiFi network that I have selected:
➢Ensure the STB is close to the WiFi Router / Mobile Hotspot without any obstruction in between.
Also ensure that your internet speed is good with stable internet connection.
➢If the internet connecton is good but the STB is still not getting connected to WiFi, switch the
STB off and then on again and re-connect to WiFi.
I can't find Device (STB) in the Device list in the TubiCast app. on my Android phone / tablet:
➢Make sure the Android phone / tablet on which you are running the TubiCast app. is connected
to the same WiFi network as your STB and the internet connection is active.
➢Reboot the STB by unplugging it from the power source for 1 minute and plugging it back in.
➢Close the TubiCast app.. on your mobile phone and start it again.
➢If you are still not finding the STB in the Device list, try the TubiCast app. on another Android
phone / tablet.
Tubicast app. is not working with Apple iPhones:
➢Currently Tubicast feature is not available on Apple iPhones (Tubicast app is not available on
Apple App Store).
How to save a website as bookmark:
➢Open the website by typing its URL in the browser.
➢Tap “+” on the top right corner to save the website as a bookmark. You can edit the name of the
website as per your convenience. Press + sign again to add the hyperlink.
The picture is freezing and keeps buffering:
➢This happens due to low internet speed. Please ensure good internet speed with a higher speed
connection.
I can’t find all the videos, audios and images of my smartphone on the “Various” tab in the TubiCast app.:
➢TubiCast app. will show only those video, audio and image files of your Android phone/tablet
which are compatible with the app.. Some files may not play.
Why some videos of YouTube are not casted on the TV:
➢Some videos that are not supported by TubiCast cannot be casted on the TV. TubiCast supports only
resolution of 360P and 720P. Check if the video is available with above resolution.
