Preface
This operating manual will help you to get to know the machine and to use it for applications it is
intended for.
The operating manual provides important information on how to use the machine safely, prop-
erly and economically. Follow the instructions for use, and you help to avoid risks, reduce repair
costs and downtimes, maintain the dependability and extend the useful life of the machine.
This operating manual is to be completed with your country‘s existing rules for the prevention of
accidents and for the protection of the environment.
The operating manual must permanently be at hand, in the same location where the machine is
used.
This operating manual must be read and observed by any person who uses the machine or
works on it. E.G.:
– operation, including preparation of the machine, clearing of minor faults on site, disposal of
waste, care maintenance, disposal of process substances and auxiliary substances
– maintenance (inspection, repairs) and/or
– transport.
Beside the instructions given in the operating manual and the occupational health and safety
regulations which are valid in your country, any existing, recognised rules for professional and
safe working must be observed.
This operating manual provides full information as required for using the machine properly, but

Description of the bench saw
The CTS-125 G is a versatile and sturdy Bench Saw for fast and clean cutting of flag tiles, wall tiles, marble slabs
and natural stone as well as pebble-shot concrete slabs, paving stones and similar abrasive building materials
(always with a suitable diamond saw blade).
The solid swivel arm ist height-adjustable and mitre cuts of 0 - 45° are possible.
2.0 The bench saw CTS-125 G
CEDIMA® Bench Saws excel in easy handling and highest precision. They can be easily transported; therefore they
can always be installed where material is to be cut.
The drive unit and the speed of the blade shaft have been designed to provide best conditions for cutting with
CEDIMA® Diamond Saw Blades.

Description of the bench saw
The basic support of the CEDIMA® CTS-125 G is a weld-
ed frame which is fitted with welded-in square tubes
on each corner for mounting the plug-in feet. The saw
rests on 4 plug-in feet, which can be easily removed for
transport.
The cutting head is fixed to a lockable swivel arm which
ensures the cutting operation to run true to angle and
depth.
The rotary swivel arm is vertically mounted to the
machine frame. A clamping lever ensures a continu-
ously adjustable height adjustment until a fixed stop is
reached.
At the swivel arm an additional swivelling and locking of
the cutting head for 45°-mitre cuts is possible. The dia-
mond saw blade is directly mounted on the motor shaft.
The work piece to be cut is placed on the roller table
and moved forward and backward with the rubber
coated roller table under the diamond saw blade. An
exact placing (cutting) of the work piece is possible by
using the laterally adjustable stop with its calibration on
the roller table.
The Bench Saw CTS-125 G is equipped with a cooling/
flushing system for wet cutting operations, which allows
dust-free operation as well as a proper discharge of the
chippings, all this leading to a longer life of the diamond
saw blade.
An electric pit-pump feeds the cooling/flushing water
from the detachable steel-water container through a
flexible (adjustable) jet and a water inlet

3.1 Warnings and symbols
The following signs and headings are used in this oper-
ating manual for comments of special importance:
NOTE
is used for comments on the economic use.
The text which is marked with the Info symbol
provides important information, and it is separated
from the other text.
ATTENTION!
is used for particular comments or
statements concerning the accident
prevention (i.e. when something is compulsory
or prohibited), the text which is marked with the
Attention symbol provides instructions which must
be observed precisely to avoid damages of the
machine or material and injuries to the user or third
party!
DANGER!
is used for crucial statements concern-
ing the accident prevention (i.e. when
something is compulsory or prohibited) in order to
avoid injuries of the user or third party as well as
considerable damages to machine or material. The
text which is marked with the Danger symbol warns
the reader that the user or a third party is likely to
be injured if the instruction given is not observed
or if he does not proceed as described!
Important statements are printed in italics!
Statements concerning safety are printed in bold
italics!
3.2.1 Principles of proper use
3.2.1.1 This machine has been designed according to
the latest technologies in mechanical and electrical
engineering and according to the recognised safety
rules! Even though, the misuse of the machine may
imply danger to life and limb of the user or a third
party as well as disturbances or damages to the ma-
chine, the system or other assets!
3.2.1.2 The machine may only be used when it is tech-
nically in a perfect working order and safety rules, as
well as the operating instructions, must be observed!
Any disturbances or faults - in particular those which
may affect the safety, must eliminated immediately!
3.2.1.3 The machine is exclusively designed for cutting
with diamond saw blades in bricks and other abrasive
materials as used in civil engineering (building con-
struction, underground working). The machine in not
intended for any other use, in particular, the use of
the machine with cutting tools other than the diamond
saw blades is prohibited!
The manufacturer/distributor of the machine cannot
be held liable for any damages or injuries which re-
sult from improper use of the machine; in such cases,
he user takes his own risk!
The intended use of the machine also implies that
the user proceeds in accordance with the operating
manual and follows the instructions for inspection
and maintenance!
3.2.2. Organisational measures
3.2.2.1 Keep the operating manual near the location
where the machine is used, so that the operating
manual is always at hand!
3.2.2.2 In addition to the operating manual, observe
the general rules for the prevention of accidents and
all other binding rules or laws for the protection of the
environment and ask other staff to do the same!
3.2.2.3 Duties such as these could also include the
safety-conscious handling of dangerous substances
or the wearing of protective clothing! It may also
include traffic rules and regulations!
3.2.2.4 State any further duties which may include su-
pervisory tasks or reporting tasks for the sake of the
particular organisational situation - e. g. relating to
the organisation of work, process, staff - and extend
this operating manual by such rules!
3.2.2.5 The person asked to work on the machine or
to use it must have read the operating manual, in
particular the chapter Safety Information, prior to
working. This is of special importance for those per-
sons who use the machine part-time only, e.g. staff
delegated to preparing the machine or carrying out
maintenance.
3.2.2.6 The person using the machine or working on it
should be supervised at least every now and then, to
ensure that the operating instructions and accident
prevention rules are observed.
3.2.2.7 The person using the machine must not have
long hair, wear loose fitted clothing or jewelry, (includ-
ing rings); otherwise the person runs the risk of being
caught by moving parts and pulled into the machine
which will cause injury and damage!
3.0 Basic/general safety instructions for bench saws

3.2.2.8 As far as required by rules and regulations,
the machine user must wear safety glasses and ear
protection, safety shoes and suitable safety clothing,
according to the accident prevention rules. In special
environments it may become necessary to wear ad-
ditional protective clothing! The accident prevention
rules UVV are to be observed!
3.2.2.9 For the sake of safety, all warning signs and
symbols on the machine must be kept in a good
readable condition !
3.2.2.10 Pay attention to the safety and danger signs
on/in the machine!
3.2.2.11 If there is a fault or a change in behaviour or
performance of the machine which may affect the
safety, the machine must be stopped immediately
and the responsible person/supervisor be informed!
3.2.2.12 Safety-devices in, on or at the machine may
not be removed or disconnected!
3.2.2.13 Do not modify or re-design the machine with-
out the prior consent of the manufacturer/distributor,
as any alterations may affect the safety! This also
applies to the installation or adjustment of safety
devices and to welding or drilling parts!
3.2.2.14 Change defect or broken parts of the machine
at once! Only use original spare parts!
3.2.2.15 Spare parts must comply with the specifica-
tions issued by the machine manufacturer. This is
always guaranteed by the use of original parts!
3.2.2.16 Hydraulic hoses must be exchanged in the
given times, even if damage or faults are not visible!
3.2.2.17 Observe the service intervals indicated in the
operating manual or otherwise specified!
3.2.2.18 A suitable workplace is needed for carrying
out the necessary inspection/maintenance (room
for moving around the machine)! Suitable tools and
other suitable workshop equipment are also required
for maintenance/repair!
3.2.2.19 Make sure that everybody knows the exact lo-
cation of the fire extinguishers and how to use them!
3.2.2.20 Observe the fire prevention rules and check
the possibilities for fire alarm and fire extinction!
3.2.3 Selecting qualified staff,
general duties
3.2.3.1 Only reliable staff must be allowed to use the
machine or to work on it. Observe the legal minimum
age!
3.2.3.2 The person using the machine or working on it
must be trained and the responsibility (preparation,
operation, maintenance of the machine) must clearly
be determined!
3.2.3.3 Make sure that no unauthorised person uses
the machine or works on it!
3.2.3.4 The responsibility of the machine user must
also be determined with regard to traffic legislation
and the machine user must be enabled to refuse any
instructions by a third party if such instruction affects
the safety!
3.2.3.5 Persons who are being taught how to use the
machine, or who are generally shown how to use it
as part of their training, may use the machine only
when they are being supervised by another, experi-
enced person!
3.2.3.6 Only a qualified electrician may work on the
electric components of the machine or system and
must supervise any auxiliary staff. The accident
prevention rules for electrical engineering must be
observed!
3.2.3.7 Only a qualified person with special knowl-
edge and experience in hydraulics may work on the
hydraulic components of the machine!
3.2.4 Safety information on
certain operational phases
I. Normal operation
3.2.4.1 Never use the machine improperly or work in
an unsafe manner!
3.2.4.2 Before you start working, make yourself famil-
iar with the work-site and the surrounding area! Take
notice of the circumstances; e.g. any obstacles which
may impede working or the traffic, the soil condition
(good bearing or not) and the required measures for
the sake of safety, e.g. the shielding of road works
from the public traffic and possible help when acci-
dents occur!
3.2.4.3 The machine must be standing on stable, firm
ground. The stability of the ground has to be en-
sured! Free the worksite of any disturbing elements!
3.2.4.4 Keep to the instructions concerning the con-
nections of the electrical lines and water hoses given
by the manufacturer!
3.2.4.5 Take measures to make sure that the machine
is only used when it is in a safe condition and trouble-
free! Only use the machine when all protective de-
vices e.g. guards, noise absorbers, emergency-stop
devices are in the indented location and operative!
3.2.4.6 A visual check of the machine must be carried
out at least once every shift to ensure that visible
damage or faults can be recognised. Any changes
(including changes in the performance or behaviour
of the machine) must be reported to the supervisor! If
necessary, stop the machine at once and secure it!

3.2.4.7 Before starting work, check:
– The orderly condition of the diamond saw blade (no
damage, de-formation ….)
– The proper (from the manufacturer recommended)
diameter of the diamond saw blade
– The recommended cutting speed (rpm) of the dia-
mond saw blade (max. RPM of the drive shaft)
– The compatibility of the machine’s direction of drive
to the saw blade’s direction of drive.
– The compatibility of the centre bore to the flange
(tool receptacle).
– The firm seating of the diamond saw blade (mount-
ing according to the recommendation of the manu-
facturer, using original parts)
3.2.4.8 The cutting process is to be carried out in
wet-cutting, in order to prevent the development of
unhealthy fine dusts and to prolong the service life of
the machine!
3.2.4.9 When working with wet-cutting, make sure of
a continuous water supply at the right place! Cooling
water supply instantly tracking the cutting progress!
3.2.4.10 When working with dry-cutting, make sure that
there is sufficient suction!
3.2.4.11 When work is carried out which produces sub-
stances dangerous to health or explosive substances
e.g. dust, slurry, the currently valid national rules and
regulations apply!
3.2.4.12 In the case of a disturbance, stop the machine
immediately and secure it! Have the fault cleared as
soon as possible!
3.2.4.13 For starting and stopping the machine, follow
the operating instructions and observe the indicator
lamps!
3.2.4.14 The machine must only be started and oper-
ated from the driver seat /place of operation!
(CTS-125 G, in front of the roll-table, resp. swivel arm
handle)!
3.2.4.15 Before starting the machine, make sure that
the running machine will not be a danger to anyone!
3.2.4.16 The operating radius of the machine may only
be used by the operator! Other persons must be kept
out of the machine’s operating radius!
3.2.4.17 When using a machine with electric drive from
the three-phase-system resp. with hydraulic drive,
the directions of drive given by the manufacturers
have to be maintained, to prevent the loosening of
the cutting tool!
3.2.4.18 Hydraulic and water hoses as well as electric
lines are to be laid out in a way that no damage by
traffic (run-over) or by the diamond tool can occur!
3.2.4.19 Before moving/transporting the machine,
always make sure of the safe installation of the ac-
cessories!
3.2.4.20 Make sure of enough light on the working
place, so that you are able to intervene at any time in
the working operations!
3.2.4.21 At low light or darkness, switch on the lights!
3.2.4.22 When leaving the machine, always secure it
against unintentional rolling-off!
II. Special work related to the use and
maintenance of the machine as well
as fault clearing and disposal
3.2.4.23 For adjusting or inspecting the machine and
for maintenance, observe the intervals set out in the
operating manual and follow the operating instruc-
tions. When replacing a part or during assembly,
proceed in accordance with the operating manual.
The aforementioned work must be effected by skilled
persons only!
3.2.4.24 Before special work or maintenance is carried
out, inform the machine operator and determine a
supervisor!
3.2.4.25 For any work which concerns the machine
operation, adaptation to production requirements,
conversion or adjustment of the machine or its safety
devices, as well as inspection, maintenance and
repair, follow the instructions set out in the operating
manual for starting and stopping the machine as well
as for maintenance!
3.2.4.26 If necessary, secure a large area around the
location of the machine where maintenance is to be
carried out!
3.2.4.27 Repair and maintenance work may only be
carried out when the machine is securely placed on
an even and firm ground and is secured against roll-
ing-off!
3.2.4.28 When the machine has been switched off
for maintenance or repair work, it must be secured
against somebody switching it on by again by acci-
dent:
– Remove all keys and disconnect the power supply!
– Place a warning sign next to the power switch!
– Disconnect the sparking plug!
3.2.4.29 When lifting devices are used for replacing
parts and large assemblies, the parts or assemblies
must be fixed and secured in such a way that there is
no hazard. Only use lifting devices which are suitable
and technically in a perfect state and which have a
sufficient carrying force. Never work under a sus-
pended load, i.e. lifted object!

3.2.4.30 Only experienced persons must be charged
with the hoisting of heavy objects or instructing of
drivers or industrial trucks. The instructor must be
within view of the operator or they must use an inter-
com!
3.2.4.31 For overhead working, use safety stages or
scaffoldings or other safety devices! Never use the
machine or parts of it for climbing or standing on it!
When maintenance or other work must be carried
out in greater height, use protective means to pre-
vent you from falling down! Keep all handles, steps,
banister, pedestals, stages, scaffoldings and ladders
clean!
3.2.4.32 Before maintenance, clean the machine
(especially the connectors and screwed joints) of
any grease and oil left by the protective substances!
Never use aggressive cleaners (detergents)! Use a
lint-free cloth!
3.2.4.33 Before cleaning the machine with water or
another cleaning solution, cover all openings which
must be protected against ingress of water/vapour/
cleaning solution for the sake of safety or trouble-
free operation, or close them with adhesive tape.
In particular, electric motors and switches must be
protected! See the ingress protection (IP) degree on
the rating plans!
3.2.4.34 After cleaning, remove all covers or adhesive
tapes!
3.2.4.35 After cleaning, check all cables, connectors,
compressed air hoses or pipes and hydraulic ele-
ments for leakage, loose connections, rub marks and
damages! Have any fault found and cleared immedi-
ately/clear any fault found immediately!
3.2.4.36 Remember to fasten all screws and bolts
which you had to loosen for maintenance work!
3.2.4.37 If the preparation, maintenance or repair work
of the machine requires the disassembly of safety
devices, the safety devices must be refitted and thor-
oughly inspected immediately after the preparation,
maintenance or repair has been completed!
3.2.4.38 Always keep a safe and sufficient distance to
the edges of excavations, ditches and slopes!
3.2.4.39 Refrain from any way of working which may
affect the stability of the machine!
3.2.4.40 Before leaving the machine, secure it against
rolling away by accident and against operation by
unauthorised persons!
3.2.4.41 Ensure that all operating and auxiliary mate-
rials as well as replaced parts are disposed of in a
safe and environment-friendly way!
3.2.5 Information on special risks
related to the electricity
3.2.5.1 Observe the national regulations or standards
(DIN-/VDE).
3.2.5.2 Electrical connections must always be free of
dirt and moisture!
3.2.5.3 Use only original fuses with the specified rating!
Switch off the machine immediately if trouble occurs
in the electric power supply!
3.2.5.4 If the machine comes into contact with or cuts
into a live high-voltage wire:
– Let go of the machine, but do not leave it!
– Move the machine out of the danger area, as soon
as the safety of the operator allows!
– Warn other persons to come closer and prevent
them from touching the machine!
– Make sure that the main supply cable is discon-
nected!
– Do not leave the machine until the damaged sup-
ply cable has been switched off and is certified as
safe!
3.2.5.5 When using the machine, keep a safe distance
to electric cables. When working in the vicinity of
electric cables, make sure that the machine or equip-
ment never comes near those electric lines!
DANGER FOR YOUR LIFE
Inform yourself of the safe distance which must be
kept to electric lines or devices!
3.2.5.6 Only a qualified electrician may work on the
electric systems, components or operating material
and must supervise the staff. The electrical engineer-
ing rules and accident prevention regulations must
be observed!
3.2.5.7 If required or stated, the machines or system
components must be disconnected from the power
supply before inspection, maintenance or repair. First
check that the disconnected parts are no longer live,
then earth and short-out them and make sure that
any life parts which are near them are insulated!
3.2.5.8 The electric parts of the machine must be in-
spected regularly and checked thoroughly! Any faults,
e.g. loose connections or charred cables, must be
cleared immediately!
3.2.5.9 When work has to be carried out on live parts,
a second person must be present to cut the main
power supply or turn the main power supply off in
case of an emergency! The work area must be se-
cured with a red and white warning chain and warn-
ing signs! Use voltage-insulated tools only!
3.2.5.10 When work has to be carried out on high-volt-
age components, switch off the power supply, dis-
connect the concerned parts from the power supply,

connect the supply cable to earth and short-out the
components - e.g. capacitors - with an earthing rod!
3.2.5.11 If mobile electrical equipment, connection
and/or extension/appliance cords with plug con-
nectors are used, make sure that such equipment,
cables and cords are checked for correct function at
least every six months by a qualified electrician or,
if suitable testing material is available, by a properly
instructed person!
3.2.5.12 Protective installations with fault current
protection units used in non-stationary equipment
must be checked for correct operation at least once a
month by a properly instructed person!
3.2.5.13 Fault-current and fault-voltage protection units
must be checked for correct operation by actuating
the testing facility:
– Once every working day in the case of mobile
equipment.
– At least every six months in the case of stationary
equipment.
3.2.6 Gas, dust, vapour, smoke
3.2.6.1 Do not perform any welding, flame-cutting and
grinding work on the machine unless such work is
expressively permitted, as there may be a risk of fire
or explosion!
3.2.6.2 Before carrying out welding, flame-cutting or
grinding operations, clean the machine and its sur-
roundings from dust and flammable material and
make sure that the premises are sufficiently venti-
lated (risk of explosion)!
3.2.6.3 When working in small or narrow rooms,
observe the national safety regulations (if they are
existing)!
3.2.6.4 Combustion engines may be used in suffi-
ciently ventilated rooms only! Never start the motor in
a closed in insufficiently ventilated room! The exhaust
fumes contain poisonous carbon monoxide!
3.2.6.5 Check all pipes, lines, hoses and screwed
joints regularly for leakage and damages! Clear any
fault immediately /have any fault cleared immedi-
ately!
3.2.7 Noise
3.2.7.1 Noise absorbing elements of the machine
must be in their proper place during operation of the
machine!
3.2.7.2 Wear ear protectors as required (UVV 29 §10)
3.2.8 Lighting
3.2.8.1 The machine is designed for the use in daylight
only! The operator must make sure that adequate
light is provided in the working area!
3.2.9 Oils, greases and other
chemical substances
3.2.9.1 When working with oils, greases and other
chemical substances, observe the safety precautions
which apply to the substances!
3.2.9.2 Avoid any lengthy contact with oil, grease and/
or other chemical substances! Careful cleaning of the
skin is required to remove the oil, grease and other
chemical (auxiliary) agents!
3.2.9.3 Be careful when handling hot substances (oil,
greases, fuel, chemicals and other auxiliary agents).
There is a risk of scalding!
3.2.9.4 Be careful when handling pressurised fluids,
there is a risk of injury because of escaping hydraulic
oil under pressure! Any manipulation on the hydraulic
system is to be avoided!
3.2.9.5 Any oil, grease or chemical substance that
have got into your eye must be washed out immedi-
ately with clear drinking water! See a doctor straight
away!
3.2.9.6 Use a binding agent to clear any spilt oil,
grease or chemicals!
3.2.9.7 Oil, grease or chemicals must not be allowed
to drain off into the ground or canalisation (sewage
water system)!
3.2.9.8 Old and used oils, grease and other materials
should be collected and kept in an appropriate con-
tainer (vessel) until disposed of!
3.2.9.9 Observe and follow the respective applicable
national laws and regulations for handling operat-
ing materials and lubricants and their disposal in the
country in which these substances are used! Obtain
information from the responsible agencies!
3.2.10 Transporting the machine
3.2.10.1 The machine must always be standing up-
right (horizontally) when being transported!
3.2.10.2 For loading or transporting the machine, use
only lifting and transporting devices and equipment
with a sufficient load-bearing force!
3.2.10.3 Determine an experienced instructor for the
lifting/hoisting process!

3.2.10.4 Only lift the machine by attaching the lifting
devices to the appropriate points according to the
operating manual!
3.2.10.5 Use a suitable transport vehicle with sufficient
carrying force only!
3.2.10.6 Secure the load well! Use suitable points for
fixing it!
3.2.10.7 The diamond saw blade must be dismantled
for transport!
3.2.10.8 Before loading the machine or the compo-
nents, secure the machine/components with the
recommended or supplied protection material or de-
vices against accidental changes in position. Place a
suitable warning sign on the machine or components!
Before installing or using the machine again, remove
such protection materials or devices!
3.2.10.9 Parts which had to be disassembled for
transporting the machine must be mounted and fixed
carefully prior to using the machine!
3.2.10.10 Even when the machine must be moved to a
minor extent only, disconnect it from the power sup-
ply and all other external energy lines! Before using
the machine again, re-establish the connections to
the power supply and all other lines properly!
3.2.10.11 When using the machine again, proceed
according to the operating manual! The set-up and
operation of the machine must always comply with
the directions of the operating manual!

Installation and operation
4.0.1 To be checked on delivery
Please check first whether your CEDIMA® bench saw
CTS-125 G has been delivered complete and undam-
aged.
The scope of the delivery is to be found in the
chapter 1.0 “technical data and accessories”.
The bench saw can be set up for operation without any
special effort or special installations. However, when
setting up the machine, the following information and
the applicable, general safety precautions and, where
necessary, the local electricity regulations must be
observed!
4.1 Setting up the bench saw
After unpacking and checking the machine, proceed as
follows:
1. Transport the bench saw to the place of work (sect.
5.9) and put the frame of the bench saw (with the
swivel cutting arm) of the CTS-125 G onto the
ground!
ATTENTION!
The bench saw weighs approx. 76,5 kg
and must be, according to the Employers’
Liability Insurance Association, lifted by crane or
other lifting gear.
2. Loosen the 4 wing screws of the leg holders on the
corners of the frame (Fig. 4.3)!
3. Lift the frame of the bench saw CTS-125 G carefully,
starting with the rear end and stick the rear legs into
the holders (Fig. 4.1)!

NOTE
Pay attention to the right position of the legs, they
should be obliquely spread in the downwards
direction (Fig. 2.1, 2.2, and 4.2)!
4. Lift the frame of the CTS 125 G (front end) and insert
the front legs into the holders (Fig. 4.2)!

NOTE
Make sure that the bench saw is standing firm and
even, horizontally, on all 4 legs!
5. Set up the bench saw so that there is no impediment
to the user or that no other persons in the vicinity are
in any danger or disturbed.

6. Loosen the clamping lever of the swivel cutting arm
securing lock, push the swivel arm with the cutting
head upwards as far as possible and secure the
swivel cutting arm with a clamping lever (Fig. 4.4 )!
Check for easy movement of the swivel cutting arm (is
the securing lock sufficiently loosened?
7. Loosen the star grip screw of the water tank secur-
ing device (on the left hand side of the CTS-125 G
frame) and then swivel the lever of the water tank
securing device onto the frame (Fig. 4.5).

8. Slide the water tank into the frame of the CTS-125 G
(Fig 4.6)
NOTE
Pay attention to the position of the water tank
drain holes in relation to the plug which is chained
to the frame (Fig. 4.6 and 4.8)!
