2．Product Configuration
DTV-UDWG series terrestrial digital TV repeaters include 12 different power level
series products as follows: 10mW, 20mW, 50mW, 100mW, 200mW, 1W, 5W, 10W,
20W, 50W, 100W, 200W. The functions and applications could be set up depending on
various functions and applied fields.
2-1．Product Standard Configuration
The standard configuration of DTV-UDWG series digital TV repeater includes:
small-signal pre-amplifier module, final power amplifier module, power module,
waterproof cabinet, cooling components, and installation accessories.

3．Product Safety Instructions
3-1．Security measures
Equipment described in this manual must be operated by trained professionals. Besides
the general safety procedures, the operator and service persons should also comply with
safety precautions measures in this manual. Please refer to the relevant section to have
the details of the relevant technical specifications, installation and operating
instructions etc.
Please pay special attention to the following situations:
●The equipments must have Ground Protection.
●Check the actual environmental conditions according to specified requirements.
●Power supply voltage must be within the limits as prescribed.

3-3．Electrostatic Induction
When repairing the equipment, it is required to wear a grounded wrist strap in order to
prevent static electricity, in addition, be sure that the components and tools are
grounded.

4-1．Unpacking Inspection
Before installing repeater, please check and verify the following items in the list.

4-2．Safety Requirements
Before installing the equipment, the user should check whether the AC input voltage
range is within the equipment allowable range or not; check the ground connection is
intact or not. Please make sure the isolation degrees between the transmitting antenna
and RF input should be greater than the equipment nominal isolation degrees. Please
check all correct cables connections before the installation.
4-3．Rack Mounting
Outdoor repeater can be installed on the wall or on the pole. When the equipment is
installed in the wall, the user can use screws or expansion screws to fix instead of
clamps. As for rack installation, please pay special attention to the environment around,
the rack should be installed in the shade with good ventilation. There should be no
block material within the range of 50CM, under or above.

4-4．Accessories Installation
There will be built-in or external accessory module for different power/type of the
series equipment. All the built-in accessory modules are installed in the factory, users

can use them directly. The installation of the external accessory modules can be
completed in the project construction progress. The following table shows the modules

4-5．Cleaning and Maintenance
Before cleaning, please cut off power supply of the machine. If you use a damp cloth to
clean the surface gently, make sure there is no liquid spilled inside the equipment
during the cleaning, users can also use a hair dryer or vacuum cleaner to remove the
dust inside the machine.
4-6．Notes
(1) Please pay attention to equipment security and personal safety, cable must be
correctly connected before switching on the machine.
(2)There is AC220V voltage power inside the cabinet.
(3) If the repeater is switched on without antenna being connected, internal components
are likely to be damaged due to the RF reflection caused by open circuit.
(4)Non-professionals can not arbitrarily move the cable, open the case, and move the
accessories inside cabinet, improper operation may damage the device because of
strong electromagnetic field inside the equipment,
(5) The module shield block can be opened only when power supply is cut off,
otherwise it will damage the components inside.
(6)The maintenance must be implemented by skilled technical personnel. The genuine
parts must be used to replace damaged parts.
(7) Wear anti-static wrist strap to prevent components damage caused by static

discharge when plugging the circuit flapper or touch the other integrated circuit chips.
(8)The equipment should be placed with good ventilation and heat dispersion. If it is
placed in open air, do not expose the equipment to burning sun or hailstones. Timely
repair is necessary if there is a problem. Training is a must for maintenance staff. For
the serious problems, the equipment should be sent back to factory for repair.
(9) Check periodically if the external connection is loose, corroded, or the cable is
bitten by rat.
(10)AC voltage regulator should be installed in those areas with fluctuating voltage.
(11)Seal the power supply port if it is not in use so as to prevent static electricity.
(12)In operation status (connected to the power), only the designated staff can do the
maintenance work.

DTV-UDWG series wideband digital TV repeaters can transmit one or more DTV
signals to cover the buildings, basements, and signal shadow area effectively, etc.
Repeater includes the main function modules and additional function modules.
The main function module of the repeater above 1 watts power types, consists of
pre-amplifier module, power amplifier module, power module and water-proof air
cooling systems (50 watts above types). Through continuous design optimization,
CEKE has integrated the pre-amplifier module, power module and power amplifier
module into one component, greatly increasing the reliability and stability of the
equipments.

AC / DC Power Modules: located on the top side of repeater. The following table
shows the equipment configuration and power specification of all models.
Pre-amplifier Module: located in the middle-upper of repeater (1W above models). It
includes low-noise amplifier circuit, digital AGC control circuit, digital ALC
temperature compensation circuit, rapid impact protection circuit, whole power supply
adapter circuit, GPRS data remote monitoring and remote debugging circuits, output
power control circuit, the noise power compensation circuit.
Power Amplifier Module: located in the middle-lower of repeater, it is a gain-fixed
super-wideband power amplifier (200MHz above), the module contains the driver
amplifier module and final amplifier circuit, input/reflect sampling circuit, temperature
sampling and protection module and output filter (mw level models).
Water-proof Air Cooling System: 50 watts above serious products use the auxiliary
air cooling system; it is located in the rear side of repeater. CEKE take full advantage of
natural heat emission of the large area heat sink in thermal design, it avoids frequent
start auxiliary cooling system, therefore enhance the stability of the equipment to the
maximum. Our equipment adopted 2 sets of small water blowers with high reliability;
such blower is not only waterproof but also can operate continuously in water.
6．Function Features
DTV-UDWG series wide frequency band digital TV repeaters have the following main
functions:
DTV-UDWG series products currently are one of the best equipments with
advanced craftwork & technology in China, the products are water –proof and suitable
for outdoor use. The cabinet looks simple and nice.
Supports all standard digital TV, mobile TV signal transmission and gap-filling.
Supports single spectrum and wideband (multi-spectral) amplification.
The Equipment can be customized into optical input type, microwave input type
and single frequency network delay adjustable type.

All internal debugging points inside DTV-UDWG series products are controlled
via microcomputers, after being equipped with GPRS module, the equipments support
the remote debugging. Equipment operating information, fault information could be
remotely-monitored via internet or mobile SMS in real time.
The power amplifier use new generation LDMOS tube, it has the characteristics
of high linearity, high efficiency, and more stable performance.
The equipments currently have the largest range (40dB, maximum 50dB) super
large range AGC control circuit to ensure the stable output power.
DTV-UDWG series products have high-precise ALC compensation function; the
equipment can maintain the stable operation even if external environment changes
sharply.
DTV-UDWG series products use unique original noise power compensation
program to avoid environmental noise on the signal AGC power in small-signal input
circumstance.
DTV-UDWG series products use algorithm with combination of digital and
analog to achieve the output power adjustable in a continuous wide range.
Models below 50 watts can provide the interfaces for external battery backup
power and photovoltaic battery.
Protection against self-excitation: when self-excitation occurs, the repeater will be
self-protect to avoid the damage to high-power amplifier.
DTV-UDWG original input power too-small protection. The repeater gain may
reach the maximum when main transmitting station or fiber-optical link is shut down
for maintenance, if in this status, the main transmitting station or fiber-optical link
operate normally, this will cause large instantaneous power to damage the power
amplifier. DTV-UDWG series products combined the power too-small protection and
nS level shutdown circuit to effectively solve the impact of this effect.
The products are equipped with output power too-large protection and output
reflection too-large protection. User can set the corresponding protection points via the
control panel or remote control.
Super-fast impact protection for Pre-amplifier input overload power. Special rapid
sampling and circuit shutdown can realize cut-off the link between pre-amplifier and
power signal chain in nS level time period.
Power Protection, once the power value deviate from the user settings range, the
system will stop working.
Temperature protection. Users can set the temperature to turn on or turn off the

auxiliary cooling system (50watts above equipments) and temperature at which
equipment stops working according the actual environment. It thoroughly solves the
equipment stability problems in high temperature environment.
Equipment password setting. It can effectively improve the safety broadcasting of
the equipments outdoors.
Can be equipped with optical receiver module to make the optical signal directly
accessible to repeater.
It can be equipped with the MMDS receiver module to make the equipment
directly receive the microwave signal then converted to UHF signal for coverage.
DTV-UDWG unique RF delay input module. The RF signal delay module can
avoid the multi-points cross-coverage interference in small-power multi-distribution
networking (already have a national patent).

8．Interface Introduction
DTV-UDWG series repeaters have perfect input and output interfaces. There are
position marks for corresponding interfaces in front of the equipment panel. The
interfaces including: RF input/output interfaces, RS232 Interface (1W above), GPRS
antenna connector, power connector, optical input interface, SIM card insert interface
(1W above built-in), setting button (1W above built-in.)

9．Operating Menu Description
DTV-UDWG Series Repeater is equipped with screen and button. The device has four
cursor keys, a OK button and a cancel button. Using them to browse and operate the
menu system for completing system configuration.
●UP key: in menu browse status, move the cursor up；In enumeration parameter
editing status, rotate parameters value; in numeric parameter editing status, increase the
parameter value.
●DOWN key: in menu browse status, move the cursor down；In enumeration
parameter editing status, rotate parameters value; in numeric parameter editing status,
decrease the parameter value.
●LEFT key: in menu browse status, move the cursor left；In numeric parameter
editing status, move the cursor left.
●RIGHT key: in menu browse status, move the cursor right；In numeric parameter
editing status, move the cursor right.
●ESC key: in menu browse status, move back to previous menu；In parameter editing
status, move to the current menu item.
●Enter Key: In menu browse status enter the sub menu, in the parameter editing
status, save the results of parameters changes.
Equipment operating/control panel object is a tree-shaped functional menu system. The
tree-shaped diagram shown as follows:

Detailed description:
3-1 below is a sub of main items, such as 3-1, 1(AGC set) is the sub of 3(set up system
setting).
1 .Equipment information
Check the real-time status of repeater, only view but can not be modified, it refreshes
every 0.3 seconds.
1-1 AGC ready status. The machine will detect the strength of input signal and adjust
the attenuation value automatically after turning on .READY will be shown after 5
seconds, if there is no alarm, it can work properly. If it shows NOT READY, and

strong. Please restart the repeater if signal strength changes.
1-2 FOR D POW Current output power display Unit: W
1-3 REF POW Current reflection power display Unit: W
1-4 ATT Corresponding to the AGC value in 1-5, is the value of current
operation. It will output power if AGC equals to ATT. If ATT value is higher than
AGC, it shows the input signal is too strong or self excited, the device will be
protected.( By temperature compensation effect of 3-2, ATG STE, it is normal that
ATT is 10 degree higher than AGC,.) If ATT value is lower than AGC value, the input
signal is too weak; it can not output full power. The item is used to determine the
received signal strength, please check other alarm items and status when abnormal.
1-5.AGC is same to 3-1 AGC SET, it is used for comparing with ATT(1-4). Set the
AGC value manually.
1-6.TEMP Equipment current temperature. The fan controls the temperature
automatically; it operates when temperature reaches 45°C, stops rotation at 40°C,
automatically stops operation at 70°C. Unit: °C

2.Alarm
Check the alarm information of current repeater. Only view but can not be modified, it
refreshes every 0.3 seconds.
If the repeater can not operate normally, please review this alarm information to
determine the problem and investigate it one by one until the repeater operates
normally.
2-1.PRE-AMP RF IN Pre- amplifier RF input status Displaying OK/P-A RFIN
LARGE, the input signal is too strong ; A RFIN SAMLL, the input signal is too weak.
Please review 1-4 &1-5.The too strong input signal may lead to self-excitation, and
reduce the strength of signal or isolation between antennas. The too weak signal is
caused by input feeder off or antennas are not aligned to the signal resource, you can
adjust the antenna angle and check the input feeder.
2-2.PRE-AMP status Display ON or OFF. It will display OFF when other items are
protected.
2-3.TEMP temperature display OK or higher. PRE-AMP output will be cut off when
temperature reaches 70°C.
2-4.FORD POW Output power Displaying OK or P-A R OUT LARGE output power is
too large. This alarm is caused by too large output power or 3-5 low protection point
setting. You can reduce AGC value (3-1) or increase the max-output power protection

2-5.REF POW Reflection power Displaying OK or REF OUT LARGE reflection
output is too large. This alarm is caused by loose output feeder and antenna or low
reflection power protection point setting 3-6. You can check the antenna or feeder, or
increase 3-6 the max-reflection power protection point value.
2-6.MAIN DC power Power supply. This alarm is caused by power supply test
voltage is too high or too low, and inappropriate setting of too large and too small
voltage .You can check the current display voltage or test the power supply output
voltage with multimeter (1-5), adjust the voltage up-limited protection point and
voltage up-limited protection point (3-8)appropriately.
2-7.FIRSTALARM The first alarm. Record the latest alarm reason.

3.SETUP system settings
Revise the setting of repeater power.protection point etc. Arrow key for setting, ENT
for confirmation.
PASSWORD Enter password, default: 0000
3-1.AGC SET Power set-up, adjust the output power of repeater.
Program version 3.3 will set the AGC to highest value in factory, hence, cannot
continue to increase; the device is different from each other. It will output full power
when reaching the highest level. It is not likely to happen that the equipment output
power exceed the standard output power.
3-2.ATG STE Temperature compensation. Enable (open) and disable (close).
Default open. Because of the equipment linearity, after temperature rises, power will
decrease by 5%. This value can guarantee that nominal power can work properly when

temperature rises.
3-3.EXTURNATT Extra-attenuation values. Input corresponding attenuation value :
Automatic (default) The equipment will be burned due to incorrect settings
Input signal: -15~-25dB; Attenuation: 30 dB
Input signal: -25~-35dB; Attenuation: 20 dB
Input signal: -35~-45dB; Attenuation: 10dB
Input signal: ＜-45dB; Attenuation: 0dB
The above attenuation value applies to -15~-60 dB RF signal
strength, optical fiber received signal strength should plus 30 dB based on
RF signal strength.
This item is default as AUTO, no need to set. If it is set at a fixed attenuation, you have
to test the strength of input signal according to list above and check 1-4, the same
illustration with 1-4.
3-4.MAX input power Preamplifier output too large protection point, unit: V. This
is protection voltage (default value: 2.5V) of preamp when signal suddenly turn
stronger or produce self-excitation, no need to set and can not exceed 3.5V, or amplifier
will be burned down because of self-excitation.
3-5.MAX FORD POWER Max- output power protection point. Corresponding to
output power display (1-1), and then adjust the max- output power protection point, the
general maximum add 40%, for example, a 50 W repeater, the protection point is
70W,please increase the protection point to 85 W if the display power fluctuations lead
to frequent protection.
3-6 MAX RER POWER Maximum reflection protection point Corresponding to
reflection power display 1-2 .Generally it is the 4 times of reflection power display
