These Operating Instructions will help you fit and use the
OMEGA FLEX Radio Key (the "Radio Key") as intended, safely
and advantageously.
Any person who operates or disposes of this Radio Key must
have read and understood the entire contents of these
Operating Instructions.
These Operating Instructions should be kept within reach at all
times as long as the Radio Key is used.
These Operating Instructions should be handed over to the end
users.

4.1 Explanation of the safety notes
These Operating Instructions include safety notes of the
following types:
These notes warn against possible property
or environmental damage.
4.2 Intended use
The Radio Key and its component parts are used for switching
OMEGA FLEX locking devices, as well as for opening automatic
doors and other accesses.
The Radio key must not be changed without our written
consent.
It is exclusively intended and may only be used for that
purpose.
Any other use is considered to be improper and may result in
property damage or even personal injury.

liability for any damage resulting from improper use.

4.4 Basic safety instructions
Observe all warnings and notes in these Operating Instructions
when using the Radio key.
To prevent danger to life and limb, the following safety
instructions must be observed:
4.4.1 Danger of explosion
Live parts of the Radio key may cause an explosion. Do not
use the Radio key in potentially explosive atmospheres.
4.4.2 Danger of suffocation
Never allow children to play with packaging material and/or
plastic bags. There is a risk that children pull them over their
head and suffocate.
4.4.3 Danger of poisoning
Always keep the Radio key out of the reach of children. There
is a risk that children swallow small parts such as batteries or
screws.
4.4.4 Danger of property damage
To prevent property damage, the following safety instructions
should be observed:
•Always have repairs performed by properly qualified
personnel. This way, you will avoid incorrect repairs.
•Only use accessories and spare parts recommended by CES.
This way, you will avoid device failures and secure the
warranted performance.
•Do not use any lubricants or oils for the Radio key. These
may enter and damage the Radio key.
•Do not drop any parts of the Radio key on the floor, on hard
surfaces or on hard objects. Otherwise you may damage
parts of the Radio key.

•Protect the electronic components of the Radio key against
water and other liquids to prevent damage.
•The Radio key contains highly sensitive electronic parts that
may be damaged or destroyed through static charges. Do
not disassemble the Radio key in rooms with built up static
charge.
4.4.5 Danger through environmental conditions
•Do not use the Radio key in corrosive atmospheres
(chlorine, ammonia, lime water).
•Only use the Radio Key in rooms in which the humidity does
not exceed 95%.
•Do not use the Radio key in rooms with a high level of dust
formation.
•Do not use the Radio Key near sources of heat.
•The Radio Key may only be exposed to temperatures
between 0 °C and +50 °C.
4.4.6 Danger of malfunctions
The reading devices of the Radio key must not be covered with
any metallic material.

4.5 Notes on the handling of
batteries
Always observe the following instructions to prevent damage
and/or environmental pollution:
•Keep batteries out of the reach of children. If a battery was
swallowed, consult a physician without delay.
•Before inserting the batteries, check that the terminals in
the device and at the batteries are clean.
•Clean the terminals with alcohol or spirit if necessary.
•Do not touch the terminals after you have cleaned them.
•Observe the correct polarity (+/-) when inserting the
batteries.
•Never attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
There is a risk of explosion!
•Never short-circuit the batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
•Never throw batteries into the fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
•Always store batteries at a cool, dry place. Direct heat may
damage the batteries. Do not expose any battery-powered
devices to strong sources of heat.
•If you do not use your devices for a longer period, take out
the batteries.
•Always remove leaked batteries immediately from the
device. Clean the terminals before inserting new batteries.
There is a danger of acid burns through battery acid!
•Always remove flat batteries immediately from the device.
•Properly dispose of flat batteries for recycling.

5Introduction
5.1 Description
The Radio Key is a remote control for OMEGA FLEX wall
terminals. It includes an active 868 MHz transponder and a
passive 13.56 MHz transponder, with which you can open
OMEGA FLEX locking devices. The range in use as a remote
control - dependent on your environment - is a minimum of 5
meters. The range is approx. 10 mm in case of use as a passive
transponder.
The Radio Key is operated with a standard battery type CR
2032.
5.2 Scope of delivery
Before proceeding with fitting and commissioning, please
check the contents of the package and the scope of delivery.
Check new devices for transport damage and inform your
dealer promptly if any damage is found.

In order to use the Radio Key, proceed as follows:
1. Authorize the Radio Key for your locking device:
Use the operating
instructions of your locking
device for the authorization
(see also page 23 ff.).
Use the operating
instructions of the CEStronics
Software Suite for the
authorization.

2. Open your locking device by holding it in front of
the locking device (passive transponder):
Locking cylinder
Electronic shield
Wall terminal
Unauthorised locking media will be refused
(signalling: 4 x red).

3. Open your wall terminal by pressing the button
(remote control):

transmission power
The Radio Key enables a three-stage adaptation of the
transmission power.
For the adjustment of the transmission power, an authorized
locking device is required for the signaling.
Press the Send button and hold pressed for at least eight
seconds.
The signalling on the locking device changes.
Release the send button at the required transmission power.
The adjustment of the transmission power is then complete.

Unauthorised access to the closing system
possible.
Anyone who finds the key can gain access to the
closing system if the key is lost.
Keep the key in a safe place so that it is only
accessible to authorised persons.
If the key is lost, please block or delete the
code for the lost key.
If one of the locking media is lost, please contact your CES
partner.
10 Care
The outer accessible parts of your Radio Key can be cleaned
with a soft, slightly moist wipe.
Never use solvent-containing cleaning agents.

The Radio key does not require any spare parts to be replaced
by you.
For service support please contact your professional CES
partner.
12 Trouble-shooting
Symptom
Possible cause and remedy
Door does not open
with Radio Key held
in front of it.
You have used an unauthorized

Use an authorized Radio Key.
The battery is empty.
Replace the battery of the Radio Key
with a new battery.

If the door lock still cannot be opened, please contact your
CES partner.

Neither the
Radio key, nor the batteries nor parts of the Radio
key
may be discarded with the normal household waste.
Always observe the applicable national and regional
regulations.
Our packaging is made of environmentally friendly, reusable
materials
.
It comprises external packaging and inserts made of
cardboard, inserts and
protective film made of polypropylene
(PE).
Please dispose of the packaging in an environmentally
responsible manner through separate waste streams.
Ask your local authorities about recycling and/or the
proper disposal of the device in line with environmental
regulations.
Risk of environmental pollution by improper
disposal!
If you violate the disposal regulations,
environmental pollution is possible.
Always recycle empty batteries.
Adhere to the local disposal regulations.
