EZHD QUICK START GUIDE

CONNECT YOUR EZHD CABLE BOX
CONNECT YOUR CABLE SERVICE. Connect the coaxial cable from your wall
outlet to the Cable In pot on your EZHD cable box.
CONNECT YOUR TV. If you have a high-definition TV (HDTV), use the HDMI
connector and included HDMI cord. If you have a standard-definition TV (SDTV), use a
coaxial cable and the RF OUT connecter.
POWER YOUR EZHD CABLE BOX. Connect the power cord to the adapter and
into the +12V DC connector, then plug it into an un-switched electrical outlet.
TURN ON THE TV AND SELECT THE INPUT. If you have an HDTV, use the
remote control for your TV to select the HDMI pot you used to connect your cable box.
If you have an SDTV, tune your TV to channel 3 or 4. Your screen may remain black as your
cable box loads.
CALL TO ACTIVATE YOUR EZHD CABLE BOX. Call the help desk at
319-268-5221 to activate your EZHD cable box. Staff is available weekdays
6 a.m. to midnight and weekends 8 a.m. to midnight.
SET UP YOUR REMOTE CONTROL
The included remote will allow you to navigate your EZHD cable box. Follow
the directions below to also control your TV with this remote.
• Press the TV mode key.
• Press and hold SETUP until the TV mode key blinks twice.
• In the user guide included with your remote, locate the TV codes
under Setup Method B. Find the codes for your TV band.
• Using the Numbers keys on your remote enter the first code for
your TV band.
• Press the POWER button to test TV control. If the TV turns off,
setup is complete.
• If the TV does not turn off, repreat process using the next code for
your TV band.

PROGRAM GUIDE
The Guide is the best way to scan what progams are available on each
channel at a given time. Press GUIDE on your remote control to access.
NAVIGATE THE GUIDE
• Press the Up or Down Arrows to view what progams are available on each
channel.
• Press the Right Arrow to view up to 14 days of future progamming.
• Press INFO to view more information about a highlighted progam.
• Press OK to view a highlighted progam.
• Press PAGE Up or Down Arrows to move up or down an entire page in the Guide.
QUICK MENU
Press MENU on your remote control to access the Quick Menu.

*On Demand (ON) movies and shows are not
available on the EZHD cable box. If you would like

more information about upgading your sevice.
Pay-per-view (PPV) sevices are no longer offered.

HOW TO SET UP PARENTAL CONTROLS
Use Parental Controls to lock cetain content or channels.
SET YOUR PIN
• Press MENU on your remote control to access the Quick Menu and use your Arrows
to navigate to the lock icon. Press OK to select Parental Controls.
• A dialog box will display for you to create your Locks PIN. Use the Numbers keys
on your remote to create a 4-digit PIN. This will be used to access your Parental
Controls settings and locked content.
• Press OK to submit your PIN.
CHOOSE YOUR PREFERENCES
• Press MENU on your remote control to access the Quick Menu and use your Arrows
to navigate to the lock icon. Press OK to select Parental Controls.
• Use the Numbers keys on your remote to enter your PIN.
• Once you enter your PIN, you will be taken to the Parental Control menu. Here
use the Up and Down arrows on your remote to highlight and OK to select the
categoy you would like to modify.
• Navigate to a specific ating, content categoy or channel you wish to lock and
press OK to select. A lock icon will appear next to the locked item. Press OK again
to unlock.
• To change your PIN highlight and select PINs setup.
• To view locked content, you will need to enter your PIN.
• Unlock all content in the Master Locks menu by selecting Remove all Locks.
• Press EXIT to exit the Parental Controls menu.
