Important Safeguards (cont’d)
14. To reduce the risk of injury, never place cutting blades on the base without first
putting the jar properly in place.
15. Do NOT attempt to override the cover interlock mechanism.
16. Always operate the product on a flat, level and stable surface.
17. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
18. Turn the appliance off before disconnecting from power supply. To disconnect
from an electrical outlet, pull directly on the plug; do NOT pull on the power
cord.
19. Do NOT put any stress on the power cord where it connects to the product, as
the power cord could fray and break.
20. When mixing hot liquids or foods, excess pressure may build up inside the
blender and this could cause the lid to come off and the contents to splash out.
We recommend that you avoid mixing excessively hot foods and that you only
place very small quantities of hot liquids or foods into the blender.
21. Do NOT use the blender for very hard food products, such as bones, shelled
nuts, frozen meats, etc. They could damage the cutting blades or cause the
motor to seize.
22. CAUTION: Switch the unit off and disconnect from the power source when not
in use, before disassembling and before cleaning to avoid injury.
Polarized Plug
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a
safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse
the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
modify the plug in any way.
