FailuretoInspectBeforeOperating
Failuretoinspectandverifythatthevehicleisinsafeoperatingconditionbeforeoperatingincreasesthe
riskofanaccident.Alwaysinspectthevehiclebeforeeachusetomakesureit'sinsafeoperating
condition.Alwaysfollowtheinspectionandmaintenanceproceduresandschedulesdescribedinthe
owner'smanual.
Accessories
Installingnon‐approvedaccessoriesmayseriouslyaffectvehiclehandlingandstability,whichcould
resultinlossofcontroloranaccident.Neverinstallaccessoriesnotapprovedbyourcompanyforuseon
thisvehicle.
ProtectiveApparel
Ridinginthisvehiclewithoutwearinganapprovedhelmetandprotectiveeyewearincreasestheriskof
seriousinjuryintheeventofanaccident.Theoperatorandpassengermustalwayswearanapproved
helmetthatfitsproperly,aswellaseyeprotection(gogglesorfaceshield).
SeatBelts
Ridinginthisvehiclewithoutwearingtheseatbeltincreasestheriskofseriousinjuryordeathinthe
eventofanaccidentorsuddenstop.Ridersmustwearseatbeltsatalltimes.Seatbeltsreducethe
severityofinjuryintheeventofasuddenstoporaccident.Alwaysmakesuretheseatbeltsaresecured
forboththeoperatorandpassengerbeforeriding.
UsingAlcoholorDrugs
Ridinginthisvehicleafterconsumingalcoholordrugscouldadverselyaffectoperatorjudgment,
reactiontime,balanceandperception.Neverconsumealcoholordrugsbeforeorwhileoperatingor
ridinginthisvehicle.

Nevercarryapassengeruntilyouhaveoperatedthisvehicleforatleastfourhours.
CarryingMultiplePassengers
Carryingmorethanthestipulatednumberofpassengerscanaffecttheoperator’sabilitytosteerand
operatethecontrols,whichincreasestheriskoflossofcontrolandaccidents.Nevercarrymorethan
thestipulatednumberofpassengers.
OperatingonPavement
Operatingthisvehicleonpavedsurfaces(includingsidewalks,paths,parkinglotsanddriveways)may
seriouslyaffecthandlingandmaycausethevehicletogooutofcontrol.Thisvehicle'stiresaredesigned
foroff‐roaduseonly.Avoidoperatingthevehicleonpavement.Ifyoumustoperateonapavedsurface,
travelslowlyanddonotmakesuddenturnsorstops.
OperatingonPublicRoads
Operatingthisvehicleonpublicstreets,roadsorhighwayscouldresultinacollisionwithanother
vehicle.Neveroperatethisvehicleonanypublicstreet,roadorhighway,includingdirtandgravelroads.

OperatingatExcessiveSpeeds

Turningimproperlycouldcauselossoftraction,lossofcontrol,anaccidentoroverturn.Neverturn
abruptlyoratsharpangles.Neverturnathighspeeds.Practiceturningatslowspeedsbefore
attemptingtoturnatfasterspeeds.
PhysicalControloftheVehicle
Removinghandsfromthesteeringwheelorhandholdsorremovingfeetfromthefloorwhileriding
increasestheriskoflossofcontrolandaccidentoroverturn.Theoperatorshouldalwayskeepboth
handsonthesteeringwheelduringoperation.Apassengershouldalwaysbeseatedinthepassenger
seatwithbothfeetonthefloorandwithbothhandssecurelygraspingthehandholds.Alwayskeep
handsandfeetinsidethevehicleatalltimes.
JumpsandStunts
Stuntdrivingincreasestheriskofanaccidentoroverturns.DONOTperformpowerslides,“donuts”,
jumpsorotherdrivingstunts.Avoidstuntdriving.
DrivingDownhillImproperly
Drivingdownhillimproperlycouldcauselossofcontroloroverturn.Alwaysfollowproperproceduresfor
drivingdownahillasdescribedintheowner'smanual.
Alwaysdrivedownahillwiththetransmissioninforwardgear.Neverdrivedownahillwiththe
transmissioninneutral.
Neveroperatethevehicleonhillssteeperthan15degrees.
Alwayschecktheterraincarefullybeforedrivingdownahill
Nevertraveldownhillathighspeed.
Avoidtravellingdownhillatanangle,whichcouldcausethevehicletoleansharplytooneside.

Improperhillclimbingcouldcauselossofcontroloroverturn.Useextremecautionwhenoperatingon
hills.Alwaysfollowproperproceduresforhillclimbingasdescribedintheowner'smanual.
StallingWhileClimbingaHill
Stallingorrollingbackwardswhileclimbingahillcouldcauseanoverturn.Maintainasteadyspeed
whenclimbingahill.Ifyouloseallforwardspeed:
Applythebrakesgraduallyuntilthevehicleisfullystopped.
Placethetransmissioninreverseandslowlyreversethevehiclestraightdownhillwhileapplying
lightbrakepressuretocontrolspeed.
CrossingHillsides
Drivingonanangleonahillisnotrecommended.Improperprocedurecouldcauselossofcontrolor
overturn.Avoidcrossingthesideofanyhillunlessabsolutelynecessary.
OperatinginUnfamiliarTerrain
Failuretouseextracautionwhenoperatingonunfamiliarterraincouldresultinanaccidentoroverturn.
Unfamiliarterrainmaycontainhiddenrocks,bumps,orholesthatcouldcauselossofcontrolor
overturn.Travelslowlyanduseextracautionwhenoperatingonunfamiliarterrain.Alwaysbealertto

OperatingonSandorSlipperyTerrain
Operatingonsandoronexcessivelyrough,slipperyorlooseterraincouldcauselossoftraction,lossof

Improperlyoperatinginreversecouldresultinacollisionwithanobstacleorperson.Alwaysfollow

DrivingOverObstacles

operatingonslipperysurfacessuchasiceorloosegravel,reduceyourspeedanduseextracautionto
reducethechanceofskiddingorsliding.Donotoperateonexcessivelyslipperysurfaces.
OperatingThroughWater
Operatingthroughdeeporfast‐flowingwatercancauselossoftraction,lossofcontrol,overturnoran
accident.Neveroperateinfast‐flowingwaterorinwaterthatexceedsthefloorlevel.Alwaysfollow
properproceduresforoperatinginwaterasdescribedintheowner'smanual.Wetbrakesmayhave
reducedstoppingability.Afterleavingwater,testthebrakes.Applythemlightlyseveraltimeswhile
drivingslowly.Thefrictionwillhelpdryoutthepads.

Operatingonfrozenbodiesofwatercanresultinthevehicleandridersfallingthroughtheice.Never

HandlingGasoline
Gasolineishighlyflammableandisexplosiveundercertainconditions.Alwaysexerciseextremecaution

Engineexhaustfumesarepoisonousandcancauselossofconsciousnessordeathinashorttime.Never
starttheengineorletitruninanenclosedarea.Operatethisvehicleonlyoutdoorsorinwell‐ventilated
areas.
HotExhaustSystems
Exhaustsystemcomponentsareveryhotduringandafteruseofthevehicle.Hotcomponentscancause
burnsandfire.Donottouchhotexhaustsystemcomponents.Alwayskeepcombustiblematerialsaway
fromtheexhaustsystem.Usecautionwhentravelingthroughtallgrass,especiallydrygrass.Always
inspecttheundersideofthevehicleandareasneartheexhaustsystemafterdrivingthroughtallgrass,
weeds,brushandothertallgroundcover.Promptlyremoveanygrassordebrisclingingtothevehicle.
UnauthorizedUseoftheVehicle
Leavingthekeysintheignitioncanleadtounauthorizeduseofthevehicle,whichcouldresultinan
accidentoroverturn.Alwaysremovetheignitionkeywhenthevehicleisnotinuse.

Driver’sSeatAdjustment
Ifyouwanttoadjustthebackrestoftheseatforwardorrearward,rotatetheknob(1)whichislocated
attheinneredgeoftheseatinclockwiseoranticlockwisedirection.
SeatBelts
Thisvehicleisequippedwiththree‐pointlapseatbeltsfortheoperatorandpassenger.Alwaysmake
suretheseatbeltsaresecuredforboththeoperatorandpassengerbeforeriding.Toweartheseatbelt
properly,followthisprocedure:
1. Pulltheseatbeltlatchdownwardandacrossyourchesttowardthebuckleattheinneredgeof
theseat.Thebeltshouldfitsnuglyacrossyourhipsanddiagonallyacrossyourchest.Makesure
thebeltisnottwisted.
2. Pushthelatchplateintothebuckleuntilitclicks.
3. Presstheredreleasebuttononthebuckletoreleasetheseatbelt.
SeatBeltInspection
Inspectallseatbeltsforproperoperationbeforeeachuseofthevehicle.
1. Pushthelatchplateintothebuckleuntilitclicks.Thelatchplatemustslidesmoothlyintothe
buckle.Aclickindicatesthatit'ssecurelylatched.
2. Pushtheredreleaselatchinthemiddleofthebuckletomakesureitreleasesfreely.
3. Inspectthefulllengthforanydamage,includingcuts,wear,frayingorstiffness.Ifanydamageis
found,oriftheseatbeltdoesnotoperateproperly,havetheseatbeltsystemcheckedand/or
replacedbyanauthorizeddealer.
4. Tocleandirtordebrisfromtheseatbelts,spongethestrapswithmildsoapandwater.Donot
usebleach,dyeorhouseholddetergents.
