Introduction
Thank you for choosing the D-MAT for drum playing and practice
anywhere. Please read and keep this manual for future reference.
Setup and Connections
Position the D-MAT onto a solid and stable surface, such as a table
or worktop, placing the foot pedals under each foot on the floor.
Playing is possible when standing but more convenient if seated.
The D-MAT can be powered
from a laptop or USB power
supply via the USB lead
provided. Connect this to the
micro USB socket (2)
The D-MAT is supplied with foot pedals for remote Bass Drum
triggering and Hi-Hat open/closed operation. These are joined to a
3.5mm jack lead which should be connected to the FOOT PEDAL
socket (3)
If a smart phone or mp3 player are to be used for playback tracks
to practice to, this can be connected to the stereo 3.5mm MP3 jack
input (5). A 3.5mm lead is supplied for this purpose.
If stereo headphones are to be used for silent practice, these can
be connected to the 3.5mm HEADPHONE jack (4)
When all connections are made, power up the D-MAT by sliding
the power switch (1) to the “ON”position.

Operation
Using the drum sticks provided, once powered up, the pads on the
D-MAT can be struck or hit to produce the specific sound. The
output level is controlled by the VOL+/- buttons (6, 7).
2 foot pedals supplied with the D-MAT allow remote triggering of
the bass drum sound and opening or closing of the hi-hats (in a
real drum kit, these are 2 cymbals which close together for a short
sound or open up for a longer ringing sound, operated by a pedal)
The foot pedals should be connected to the FOOT PEDAL jack.
Press each pedal to check which is the bass drum and place this
under the right foot. Place the hi-hat pedal under the left foot.
Press the bass drum pedal momentarily to trigger the bass drum.
Press the hi-hat pedal to make the hi-hats close. Holding the hi-hat
pedal closed will mean that each hit on the hi-hat pat will produce
the closed sound. Releasing the pedal and hitting the hi-hat pad
will produce the longer ringing hi-hat sound.
The overall sound set may be changed by pressing the STYLE
button (8). There are 7 different drum kits to choose from.
To demonstrate the full capabilities of the D-MAT, there are 12
internal demo songs which can be selected by pressing the DEMO
button (9). Repeated presses of this button will step through each
demo song and pressing START/STOP (13) will stop the playback.

For practice, it is also possible to record a pattern on the D-MAT
and then play the recording back.
Press the REC button (10) and the Record LED will light. At this
time, any hits on the D-MAT pads will be recorded to memory.
Press START/STOP (13) to finish recording and press PLAY (11) to
play back the recording.
Recording another pattern will over-write the previous recording.
The D-MAT also has 9 built-in accompaniments to play along with.
Press the RHY button to access these and use the START/STOP to
start or stop playback.
To change the speed or tempo of playback, press the T- or T+
buttons until the correct tempo is achieved.
When connected to a laptop or other computer with MIDI software
installed, the D-MAT can be used as a MIDI controller to trigger
sounds within the MIDI software. For this function, it is necessary
to use a USB to micro USB lead which can carry data, as supplied
with the D-MAT for power (not just a charging lead)
Check for USB audio device or MIDI device in the input section of
the software. The D-MAT is plug & play and switching the D-MAT
on or off will show if it is in the available devices. Select this USB
device and use it to trigger sounds within the software.
Note: The D-MAT will enter sleep mode after 1 minute of inactivity
