Lightweight Outdoor Microphone
Operation
The MK:429 is a lightweight Outdoor Microphone unit designed to provide
weather protection to an MV:200 Series Preamplifier and Class+ Microphone
Capsule such as the MK:224 and MK:226 units.
The removable MV:200B and MV:200C Preamplifiers are supplied as standard
on current Type 1 Cirrus brand Sound Level Meters and as an option on
Type 2 Sound Level Meters.
This allows Sound Level Meters such as the CR:703B and CR:800A Series
to be used for short term outdoor measurements.
Please note that the MK:429 does not provide weather protection for
the Sound Level Meter. Precautions should be taken to ensure that the
Sound Level Meter is not exposed to adverse weather conditions.

Applications
The MK:429 is not designed for long term use, and where
measurements are required for extended periods or where the
weather conditions areadverse,an alternativesystemsuch as the
MK:437 or MK:438 units should be used. For further details please

The MK:429 iscompatiblewiththe MV:200B and MV:200C
Preamplifiers provided byNoiseMeters B.V. andcan beused with
any ofthe ZL:2xx Microphone Extension Cablessuchas the ZL:205
5m unit to connecttoa Sound LevelMeter.
The MK:429 can also be used to enhance the performance of a
CR:280 Series Noise Nuisance Recorder such as the CR:281A unit
allowing the microphone to be placed outdoors.
