Chapter 1 Install the Cisco ONS 15310-MA SDH
Before You Begin
12. NTP-H156 Install the Filler Cards, page 1-24—As needed, complete this procedure to install a filler
card (blank faceplate) in the expansion slot. If no Ethernet or electrical card is installed in the
expansion slot, you must install a filler card.
13. NTP-H157 Install Wires to Alarm, Timing, Craft, LAN, and UDC Pin Connections,
page 1-25—Complete this procedure to install cables for alarms, timing, LAN, craft, and user data
channel (UDC) connections.
14. NTP-H158 Install the Electrical Cables, page 1-26—Complete this procedure to connect and route
cables that will carry electrical traffic.
15. NTP-H159 Install and Remove SFPs, page 1-27—As needed, complete this procedure to install
Small Form-factor Pluggables (SFPs) that provide a fiber-optic interface to the 15310E-CTX-K9
card.
16. NTP-H160 Install Optical Cables, page 1-28—Complete this procedure to connect and route cables
that will carry optical traffic.
17. NTP-H164 Perform the Shelf Installation Acceptance Test, page 1-30—Complete this procedure to
determine if you have correctly completed all other procedures in the chapter.
18. NTP-H161 Preprovision an SFP Slot, page 1-31—As needed, complete this procedure to
preprovision SFPs, which provide a fiber-optic interface to the ONS 15310-MA SDH and can be
provisioned for various line rates.
19. NTP-H162 Preprovision a Card Slot, page 1-32—As needed, complete this procedure to
preprovision an empty card slot with a card that will be installed later.
20. NTP-H163 Remove and Replace a Card, page 1-32—As needed, complete this procedure to remove
and replace an ONS 15310-MA SDH card.
21. NTP-H168 Install the Front Door, page 1-34—As needed, complete this procedure to install the
front door.
22. NTP-H191 Install the Rear Cover, page 1-36—As needed, complete this procedure to install the rear
cover.
