When! working! with! VinciLab! as! a! standalone! device! VinciLab!is! controlled! by! its! touch!
screen!and!Coach!is!running!on!VinciLab.!!!

Turn!VinciLab!on!by!pressing!its!power!button.!Wait!until!the!Home!Screen!appears.!!
•Ensure!VinciLab!has!sufficient!battery!power!or!is!connected!to!a!power!supply.!!
•On!the!Home!Screen!tap! !to!open!the!Coach!Application.!
•Connect!sensor(s)!to!the!sensor!input(s)!of!VinciLab.!!!

•Create!a!new!Coach!Result:!! ! Or!open!an!existing!Coach!Activity/Result:!!

you! want! to! use! only! the! internal! Sound!

The!sensor!digital!display!shows!information!
about! the! sensor! defined! in! the! Activity!
(red)! and! the! sensor! identified! by! VinciLab.!
Connect!the!defined!sensor!or!change!it!into!
the! detected! sensor! by! touching! Exchange.!
This! feature! is! not! available! for! sensors,!
which!cannot!be!identified.!!
•Tap! !to!check!the!live!readings!of!the!sensors.!The!live!data!are!not!stored!in!VinciLab’s!
memory.!
•You! are! ready! to! start! a! measurement.! The! measurement! will! be! executed! according! to!
the!given!measurement!settings.!Tap! !to!check!or!change!these!settings.!!
•Tap! !to!start!collecting!data.!!!
oIn!most!cases,!Coach!directly!starts!the!measurement.!!
oIf!triggering!is!enabled!then!the!measurement!is!started!automatically!when!the!trigger!
conditions!are!met.!
oFor! a!Manual!measurement! tap! !to! collect! a!single!measurement.!When! keyboard!
input!is!requested!then!the!value!of!one!or!more!quantities!has!to!be!typed!in.!
•The!measurement!stops!when!the!specified!measurement!time!(time-based)!or!specified!
number!of!samples!(manual)!has!been!reached.!Tap! !to!interrupt!the!measurement.!!
•To!save!your!Result!go!to! ,!tap! !or!tap! !and!select!Save!or!Save+As….!!

VinciLab! can! be! used! as! a! lab! interface! connected! (via! USB! or! Wi-Fi)! to! computers! (Mac! and!
Windows),!tablets!(iPad,!Android)!and!Chromebooks.!Coach!7!and!Coach!7!Lite!programs!and!
apps!support!such!measurements.!!

1.+CONNECTING+VINCILAB+FOR+THE+FIRST+TIME++
Before!you!start!to!use!VinciLab!with!the!computer!via!the!USB!cable!we!recommend!to!first!
install!the!latest!version!of!the!Coach!7!or!Coach!7!program!on!your!computer.!In!most!cases!
the!VinciLab!installation!is!automatically!executed!the!first!time!VinciLab!is!connected!to!the!
USB! port! of! the! computer.! After! successful! installation! VinciLab! is! shown!under! Network!
adapters!(Windows)/Ethernet! cards! (MAC).! If! the! driver! is!not! successfully!installed! or! there!
are!problems!with!communication!between!VinciLab!and!computer!consult!the!VinciLab!User’s!

2.+USING+VINCILAB+FOR+DATA+COLLECTION+WITH+A+COMPUTER+AND+A+TABLET+
Coach!7!and!Coach!7!Lite,!as!well!for!desktops!
as! for! tablets,! support! measurements! with!
VinciLab.! During! such! measurement! VinciLab!
stays! connected! to! the! computer/tablet! via! a!
USB! cable! or! communicates! wirelessly! via! Wi-
Fi.! The! collected! data! are! transferred! in! real-
time!to!the!computer/tablet!and!the!course!of!
the! measurement! can! be! followed! directly! on!
the! computer/tablet! screen.! The! VinciLab!

3.+TRANSFERRING+FILES+BETWEEN+VINCILAB+AND+A+COMPUTER+
Files,!can!be!transferred!between!a!computer/tablet!and!the!folder!‘My!files’!on!VinciLab!via:!!
•the!USB! connection.! To! get! access! to! VinciLab! in! Windows! Explorer! or! in! Mac! Finder,!
VinciLab!needs!to!be!first!mounted!as!a!network!location.!!
•a!USB!stick!memory.!Insert!your!USB!stick!into!the!USB!port!of!VinciLab.!!
•an! e-mail,! files! can! be! attached! and! send! from! VinciLab.! For! this! VinciLab! has! to! be!
connected!to!a!network.!!

4.+DISPLAYING+THE+VINCILAB’S+SCREEN+ON+A+COMPUTER+OR+A+MOBILE+DEVICE+
VinciLab!offers!Data!Share!via!Virtual!Network!Computing!(VNC),!which!makes!possible!to!view!
the! VinciLab! screen! on! any! computer! or! a! mobile! device.! The! VNC! protocol! can! run! via! a!
network!connection!but!also!via!a!USB!connection.!To!allow!this!a!VNC!Viewer!program!needs!
to!be!installed!on!the!controlling!device!and!remote!connection!has!to!be!established!between!
the!devices.!Such!VNC!Viewers!are!freely!available!for!all!platforms.!
