Using Your Remote Control
Arming the Security System
Toarm the system, exit the vehicle, close all doors, thenpresstheLOCKbutton on the remote control. The
systemwillsound2timesand the parking lights will flash 2 times, indicating the system is armed, has locked the
doors(if equipped and connected) and activated the starter disable feature. The status indicator (blue warning
lighton the antenna) will blink steadily, once per second. To armthesystemsilently, press and hold the LOCK
buttonfor 1 second. The parking lights will flash 2 times,indicating the system is armed, has locked the doors(if
equippedand connected) and activated the starter disable feature. The status indicator (blue warning light on the
antenna)will blinksteadily,onceper second.
Pre-arm Mode
Ifthesystem sounds 1 time and the parking lights flash only1time,this indicates that the vehicle’s interior light is
onor an entrance is left open. Check to see thatalldoorshoodandtrunkareclosedproperly. Once all entrances
aresecured (and the interior light isoff), this system will sound/flash again. The systemis now fully armed. (If
theentranceis not secured within 4 minutes, the system will arm and ignore the unsecured entrance until it is
closed.)
Disarming the Security System
Todisarm thesystem pressthe UNLOCKbutton. Thesystemwillsound and the parkinglights will flash once,
andthe doors will unlock (if equipped and connected). To disarm the system silently, pressandholdthe
UNLOCKbuttonfor 1 second. The parking lights will flash, indicating the system is disarmedandhasunlocked
thedoors (if equipped andconnected).
Disabling/Enabling Confirmation Chirps
1. Turnthe ignitionkey ON then OFF.
2. Within10 seconds pushandrelease the valet/override button3times.
3. Thesystemwillsound2timestodisable confirmation chirps or 1 time to enable confirmation chirps.
Attempted Intrusion Identification
Thissystem will inform you ifanintrusion attempt has occurred while youwereaway from the vehicle. If an
intrusionattemptoccurred,the system will sound 4 times and the parking lights will flash 3 timeswhen disarming
thesystem. Enter the vehicleanobserve the dash mountedstatusLED to Identify whichzonewas triggered.
1. ShockSensor-1 flash, pause 1 flash, etc.
2. HoodorTrunk Pin switch - 2 flashes, pause 2 flashes, etc.
3. DoorEntry - 3 flashes, pause 3 flashes, etc.
Theintrusion warning indicators are stored in the system’s memory and will be erased when the ignition key is
turnedon.
Two Stage Door Unlock (Optional)
Ifthis feature is enabled on your system, pressing theUNLOCKbuttonone time on the remote control will unlock
onlythe driver’s door. Press UNLOCK again to unlock theremainingdoors.
Activating the Trunk Release Feature (Optional)
Ifthisfeatureisenabledonyoursystem,pressingandholdingtheTRUNKbutton on the remote control for 2
secondswill open the vehicle’s trunk or hatch.
*Throughout this manual, ‘press’ refers to pressing for less than 1 second; ‘press and hold’ refers to pressing for
morethan2seconds.

Turning on the Vehicle’s Headlights (Optional)
Ifthis feature is enabled on your system, pressing and holding the LOCK button on the remotecontrolfor3seconds
willturnonthevehicle’sheadlights for 30 seconds.
Activating Optional AUX 1 (Optional)
Ifthis feature is enabled onyoursystem, pressing and holding theLOCKbuttonand the Trunk button ontheremote
controlsimultaneously for 2 seconds will activate anoptionalfeature.This feature can be programmed for awide
rangeof functions like power windoworsunroofautomation, please consult your installing dealertodetermine
functionalityofyour system.
Activating Optional AUX 2 (Optional)
Ifthis feature is enabled on your system, pressing and holding the OPT button on the remote control for 2 seconds
willactivate an optional feature. This feature can be programmedforawide range of functions like power window or
sunroofautomation, please consultyourinstalling dealer to determinefunctionalityof your system.
Activating Optional AUX 3 (Optional)
Ifthis feature is enabled onyoursystem, pressing and holding theLOCKbutton and the OPT button ontheremote
controlsimultaneously for 2 seconds will activate anoptionalfeature.This feature can be programmed for awide
rangeof functions like power windoworsunroofautomation, please consult your installing dealertodetermine
functionalityofyour system.
Activating Optional AUX 4 (Optional)
Ifthis feature is enabled on your system, pressing andholdingtheUNLOCK button and the OPT button on the
remotecontrol simultaneously for 2 seconds will activate an optional feature.Thisfeaturecanbe programmed for a
widerange of functions like power windoworsunroofautomation, please consult your installing dealertodetermine
functionalityofyour system.
Using the Progressive Car Finder Feature
Pressthe LOCK button and theUNLOCKbuttonon the remote control tolocateyour vehicle. The system will sound
5times at low volume increasing in volume each of 3timesthebuttonis pressed.
Using the Personal Protection Alarm (Panic) 2-Way Remote
Pressand hold the LOCKbuttonandthe UNLOCK button on theremotecontrol for 2 seconds toactivatethe
personalprotection alarm. The system will sound for 30 seconds. Pressing any button on the remote control will
turnthe personal protection alarm off.
Using the Personal Protection Alarm (Panic) 1-Way Remote
Pressand hold the PANICbutton on the remote control for2secondstoactivate the personal protection alarm. The
systemwill sound for 30 seconds. Pressing any button on the remote control will turn the personal protection alarm
off.

Remote Starting Your Vehicle
Toactivate the remote vehiclestartfunction,press and release the OPTbutton on the remote control 2times
within2seconds. Thesystem will sound, the parking lights will flash 1 time and the system will check the vehicle
toensure it is safe to start,if all safety parameters are correct,the vehicle will start within 5seconds (diesel
vehicles will take longer). The vehicle’s parking lights will turn on (or flash depending on system settings) as a
visualindication that the vehicle has started and is running. Press and release the OPT buttonontheremote
control2 times within 2 seconds again to turn the vehicle off.
Ifyour vehicle stalls or does not start, the system will pause 5 seconds, then try 3 more times tostartthevehicle(a
totalof 4 attempts). The systemwillpause 5 seconds between eachstartattempt. If the vehicle doesnotstart
afterthe 4th attempt, thesystemwill abort the remotevehiclestart process.
Entering the Vehicle while it is running via Remote Vehicle Start
1. Unlockthevehicle’sdoors.
2. Enter the vehicle. DO NOT PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL!
3. Insertthe key into the ignition switch and turn totheON or RUN position.
4. Press the brake pedal. The remote vehicle starterwill disengageandthevehiclewilloperatenormally.
Using the Safety (Red Handled) Control Switch
Thesafety (red handled) control switch allows you to temporarily disable the remote vehicle starter feature,thisis
especiallyhelpfulwhen having yourvehicleserviced or valetparked. Todisabletheremote start,move thesafety
(redhandled)control switch to the OFF position.
Preheating or Precooling the Vehicle’s interior
Beforeexiting the vehicle, set the temperaturecontrolstothe desired setting and operation. After the system
startsthevehicle, the heater or air conditioning will activate and heat or cool the vehicle’sinterior toyoursetting.
Using the “Quick-stop” Feature
Ifyou want to make ashortstopand keep your vehicle running(tokeepthe interior warm or cool),thequick-stop
featureallows youto dothiswhile keepingyourvehicle secureand your keyswith you.
To engage quick stop:
1. Stopthe vehicle and place the transmission in PARK.
2. Withyour foot off thebrakepedal, press and release theOPTbutton on
the remote control 2 times within 2 seconds. The parking lights will turn
onindicating the vehicle is now running via remotevehiclestart.
3. Removethe keys from the ignitionandexit the vehicle. Press the LOCK
buttonon the remote control to lock the vehicle’s doors if desired.
Note: Donotleavechildrenoranimals unattended in the vehicle when using the
quick-stop feature.

Operating the 2 / 4 Hour Start Up Timer Mode
Thesystem has the ability to start the vehicle every 2 or 4 hours over a 48 hour period. This feature is especially
usefulin cold climates where the only means to keep the engine and enginefluidswarmistoperiodically start
theengine.
WARNING!
Becertain that the vehicle is outdoors before using this oranyremote starting device. A running engine
producesdangerous carbon monoxide fumes which canbeharmfulor fatal if prolonged exposure occurs. DO
NOT remote start the vehicle if it is garaged.
Selecting between 2 and 4 hour start up: (default 4 hour)
1. Beginwith the safety (red handled) control switch in theONposition.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON then OFF.
3. Within10seconds move the safety (red handled) control switch OFF, ON, OFF, ON (2switch
cycles) to select a 2 hour start timer. After 10 seconds the parking lights will flash and the system
will sound 2 times indicating that the 2 hour start timer is selected.
Or
3a. Within10seconds move the safety (red handled) control switch OFF,ON, OFF,ON, OFF,ON,
OFF, ON (4 switch cycles) to select a 4 hour start timer. After 10 seconds the parking lights will
flash and the system will sound 4 times indicating that the 4 hour start timer is selected.
To begin the 2 / 4 hour start up timer mode:
1. Turn the ignition key ON then OFF.
2. Within10 seconds press the OPT button on the remote control four (4) times.
Theparking lights will flash and the systemwill sound 4 times indicating the 2/ 4 hour start up timer
modehas been activated. The vehicle will start every 2 or 4 hours and run for the preset time limit(5,
10,15or20 minutes) and then shutdown. This will continue for 48 hours unless the 2 / 4 hour start up
timeris cancelled.
To begin the 2 / 4 hour start up timer mode from the remote control:
1. Activatethe remote vehicle start feature usingtheremotecontrol.
2. Shutdownthe remote vehicle starter using the remotecontrol.
3. Within10 seconds press OPT button ontheremote control 4 times.
Theparking lights will flash and the systemwill sound 4 times indicating the 2/ 4 hour start up timer
modehas been activated. The vehicle will start every 2 or 4 hours and run for the preset time limit(5,
10,15or20 minutes) and then shutdown. This will continue for 48 hours unless the 2 / 4 hour start up
timeris cancelled.
To cancel the 2 / 4 hour start up timer mode:
1. Startthevehicleusingthe ignition key, then press thebrakepedal.
Or
2. Activatethe remote vehicle start feature usingtheremotecontrol.
Operating the Temperature Start Mode
Thesystem has the ability to start the vehicle when the temperature reaches 0degrees. Totoggle this feature
ON/OFFusingtheremote control press the UNLOCK and OPT buttons simultaneously for 1 second.
Note: Thisfeature must be turned ON in options programming. Checkwith your installing dealer to insure this
featureis set to the ON position.

Operating the Daily Start Timer
Thesystem has the ability to start your vehicle based on a 24-hour countdown timer. This feature requiresatwo-
partactivation sequence. From the remote, pressing both the LOCK & OPT buttons together willactivatethe24
hourcountdown timer (thismaybe done atanytime). Next, When you arefinished operating the vehicleforthe
day, perform the followingstepstocomplete the process.
1. Turn the ignitionON/OFF (vehicle must be disarmed).
2. Within 10 seconds, while pressing the brake, press and release the TRUNK button twice.
3. The vehicle will flash the parking lights 2 times.
Remote Start Safety Features
Forsafety and security reasons, the systemwillshutdownor prevent the remote vehicle starter fromactivatingif
anyof the following occur:
1. Thevehicle’shoodisopen.
2. Thebrake pedal is pressed prior to turning theignition key to the ON position.
3. Theengine reaches 3 times its normal idle speed.
4. Thesafety(redhandled)controlswitchis moved to the OFF position.
Using Valet Mode
To engage valet mode:
1. Turntheignition key to the ON position.
2. Pressand hold the emergency overridebutton.
3. Theblue LED will light solid indicatingthat the system is in valet mode.
Whenvalet mode is activated the dash mounted status LED will light solid, and all security functionswillbe
disabled.
To disengage valet mode:
1. Turntheignition key to the ON position.
2. Pressand release the emergency overridebutton.
3. Theblue LED will turn off indicating that the system has exited valet mode.
Whenthe valet modehasbeen deactivated the statusLEDwill turn offandall security functions willbeenabled
thenext timethe systemisarmed.
Using the optional Turbo Timer Feature
To engage the turbo timer feature:
1. With thevehiclerunning via the ignitionkey, and your footoffof thebrakepedal.
2. Engagethevehicle’sparking brake.
3. Thevehicle’sparkinglightswillturnontoverifytheturbotimerfeaturehasbeenactivated.
4. Turnthe ignitionkey OFF, the vehicle will continue to run for an additional 5 minutes.
To disengage the turbo timer feature:
1. Pressthe vehicle’s brake pedal.
Or
2. Turnthesafety(redhandled) control switch to the OFF position.

Additional LCD Remote Control Functions
LCD Remote Control Display Illumination
Pressandreleasethe“F”buttonontheLCDremotecontrol one time. The display will illuminate for 10 seconds.
LCD Remote Control Vibrate or Tones
Pressand release the “F” button and the UNLOCK button on the LCD remotecontrolsimultaneouslyonetimeto
togglebetween beep tones and vibrate mode. TheLCDremotecontrol will either beep or vibratetoindicatewhich
modeis selected.
Page Call Out
Fromwithin the vehicle, press and hold the emergency override button for4seconds,theLCD remote control will
emita beep tone to indicate thatsomeoneiscalling you to the vehicle.
Out of Range
If the LCD remote control is within operating range of the vehicle the antenna or IN-RANGE INDICATOR icon will
bedisplayed after any button is pressed. If this icon disappears after a button is pressed the vehicle is out of range
ofthe remote control.
Countdown Timer
TheLCD remote control is equippedwitha countdown timer for situations whereanalert tone may be neededto
remindyou of something important. Thecountdowntimer allows you tosetthe timer up to19hours and 59 minutes.
Refer to page 9 for programming.
Parking Meter Timer
TheLCD remote control is equipped with a parking meter timer that allows you to set a countdown timer for 10, 20,
30,60,90or120minutes. TheLCDremotecontrolwillemitabeeptonewhenthetimerexpires. Press”F”and
OPTsimultaneouslytoselect desired time.
Alarm Clock
TheLCDremotecontrolisequippedwithabuilt in alarm clock that can be set to beep at a certaintime each day.
Thealarmclock must be set, and the feature turned on. Refer topage10for programming time. Press ”F” and
TRUNKsimultaneouslytoturnON and OFF if the desired time has already been set.
Bypassing The Shock Sensor
Thereare3 additional modes of operation in which your system will react to the shock sensor, FULL TRIGGER
ONLY, ALL OFF, or CITY MODE.
PressLOCK once to arm the system.
PressingLOCK again within 2 seconds will setthe system to FULLTRIGGER ONLYin whichthe system will
ignore the light touch setting.
PressingLOCK again within 2 seconds will set the system toALLOFF. In this mode the system will not react to
theshock sensor and the2-wayLCDremote will display theshocksensoricon.
PressingLOCK again within 2 seconds will set the system toCITYMODE. In this mode the light touch horn output
isextendedtoafull10secondsandfulltriggerhornoutputisshortened to 15 seconds, no icon is displayed.
NOTE:The system will only change the shock sensorsettingforone arm cycle and will be defaulted back tonormal
operationthenexttime thesystem isarmed.

system’scurrent status.
Check Temperature
Press the TRUNKand OPT buttons simultaneously for1 second. The LCDremote control will displaythe vehicle’s
interiortemperature.
Battery Save Mode
Pressthe LOCK and “F” buttonssimultaneouslywhenthe system is disarmed. Note thatinthis mode the remote
willnot send or receivevehiclestatusunless you press a buttononthe remote.
Temperature Display
Pressand release the TRUNKandOPT buttonssimultaneouslyto change the temperaturedisplaybetween
Fahrenheit or Celsius.

Quick Reference Button Operation Guide.
Replacing Remote Control Batteries
2-way LCD Remote Control:
The AAA alkaline batteryinsidethe 2-way LCD remotecontrolshould last approximately 1 yearundernormal
use. Whenthe battery becomesweakyou will noticetheremote control range(thedistance from thevehiclethe
remotecontrolwillwork)deteriorate and the BATTERYicon on the LCD remote control will display.To replace
theremotecontrolbattery:
1. Liftand slide the battery cover off of the remote control.
2. Removethe oldAAAbattery, observing the+/-symbols on thebattery,and replace with anewAAA
battery.
3. Gentlyslide the battery cover onto the back of the remotecontroluntilitlocks into place.
4. Testoperation of the remote control.
1-Way 6 Button Remote Control:
Thetwo3 volt lithium batteries (model CR2032 or Code Alarm part#6BA) inside each remote control
shouldlast approximately1year undernormaluse. When thebatteriesbecome weakyouwill noticetheremote
controlrange(the distance from the vehicle the remote control will work) deteriorate and the small LED on the
remotecontrolwill dim. To replace the remote control batteries:
1. Usingasmall(#1) philips screwdriver, remove the screw on the back of the remote control.
2. Gentlyunsnap the halvesofthe remote control apart.
3. Slidethelithium batteries out of the circuit board, observing the +/- symbolsonthebatteries
andreplace with new lithium 3 volt batteries(model CR2032 or Code Alarm part #6BA)
4. Gentlysnap the halves of the remote control back together andreinstallthephilipsscrew on the
back of the remote control.
5. Testoperation of the remote control.

Optional Song Bird Feature
Theoptional Song Bird feature (Code Alarm SB1 accessory Speaker and labor required) allows you to program
songsand tones toyoursystem (i.e. Setting adifferenttone for Lock activationandunlock activation).
TurningSong Bird On: Press andreleasethe TRUNKicon buttononthe remotecontrol, thenpress andhold the
LOCKiconbuttonontheremotecontrolwithin2seconds. The speakerwillgivenotificationthat SongBirdhasbe
turnedON.
Turning Song Bird Off: Press and release theTRUNK icon button on the remote control, then press and hold the
UNLOCKiconbutton on the remote control within 2 seconds. The speakerwillgivenotificationthatSongBirdhas
beturnedOFF.
Setting Song Bird Tones:Activate the function you wish to program a Song Bird tone to. Within 3 seconds, press
andrelease the TRUNK icon button on the remote control, then press the OPTION button on the remote control
within2 seconds. Press the LOCK icon button on the remote control or UNLOCK icon button on the remote control
toscrollthroughthedifferenttones.
While in this mode the TRUNK icon button ontheremote control will change the length or version of thetone(if
applicable).
PresstheOPTIONbuttonontheremote control to select the desired tone and exit programming.

Emergency Override Procedure
Ifyourtransmitter is lost or disabled, it will be necessary use the emergency override button to turn the security
systemoff. There are two types of emergencyoverrideprocedures. Checkwith your installing dealer to findout
whathasbeen activatedonyoursystem.
StandardEmergencyOverrideProcedure
1. Enterthevehicle (thesecurity systemwill trigger).
2. TurntheignitionkeytotheONposition.
3. Pressandreleasetheemergencyoverridebutton(Thesecuritysystemwillturnoff).
Note:Iftheautomaticarmingfeatureisenabledonyoursystem. Thesecuritysystemwillre-armthenexttimethe
ignitionkeyisturnedoffandthevehicle’s doorsareclosed.
CodedOverrideProcedure
Thesystem has an optional override mode that allows you to programa2-digitpersonalcode using the
emergencyoverride button offeringahigherlevelofsecurity. Thisfeature must be enabled by your installing
dealer, the default override code is11.
1. Enter the vehicle(the security system will trigger).
2. Turn the ignitionswitch to the ON position.
3. Within5 seconds press the emergencyoverridebuttonthe number of times corresponding to
the first digit of your personal code (Default digit is 1).
4. Within 5 seconds turn the ignition key OFF, then ON.
5. Within5 seconds press the emergencyoverridebuttonthe number of times corresponding to

will flash 1 time).
5. Within10seconds press and releasetheoverride button the number oftimes corresponding
with the first digit of your personal code (1-9).
6. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition key OFF then ON.
7. Within10seconds press and releasetheoverride button the number oftimes corresponding
withtheseconddigitofyoupersonalcode(1-9).
8. Within 5 seconds turn the ignition key OFF.
9. You will notice theLEDflasha number of times corresponding withthecode you entered.
Note:If 15 seconds of inactivity passes the system will abort programming.
Note: Do not lose your “Personal Override Code”. Reprogramming a new code without the original code
can only be performed by an authorized dealer.

THEVEHICLE IN WHICH IT WAS ORIGINALLYINSTALLED, suchdefect(s)will be repairedor replaced(atCODE’s
option)without charge for parts directly related to repairs of thedefect(s).
Switches,indicatorlights,and transmitter cases are similarly warranted to the original purchaser for a
periodof one (1) year from the date of purchaseoftheProduct.
CODEaccessories,soldseparately,arecoveredbytheapplicablewarrantyaccompanyingtheaccessory.
Thiswarranty is non-transferable, non-assignableandis voided when: (1)theProduct is removed from
thevehiclein which it was originally installed; or (2) the vehicle in whichtheProduct was originally installed is trans-
ferredto anotherparty.
Thiswarrantydoesnotapplytoanyproductdamagedbyaccident,physicalorelectricalabuse,improper
installation,alteration,orusecontrarytoits intended function, fire, flood, or other natural acts.
Inorder forthe Producttobe repairedorreplacedunder theterms ofthiswarranty,thedefective Product
mustbe returned to an authorized CODE dealer and accompaniedby a copy of the retail sales receipt. The dateof
purchaseandyear,makeandmodel ofthevehicleinwhichtheProductwas originallyinstalledmustbeclearly indicated
onthe sales receipt.
Thiswarranty isexclusive andCODE MAKESNO OTHERWARRANTIESEXPRESSED ORIMPLIED.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDINGANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITYANDFITNESS
FORAPARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALLBE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. IN
NO CASE SHALLCODE BE LIABLE FORANYCONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH

CODE does not warrant that the Product cannot be compromised or circumvented. THE EXTENT OF CODE’S
