Safety
• Theproduct may be used by children of 8 years and above
and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capability or lack of experience and knowledge provided they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use
of theproduct in asafe way and understand thehazards
involved.
• Never let children play with theproduct.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without adult supervision.
• Persons (including children) whose physical, sensory or
mental capability or lack of experience and knowledge means
that they cannot use theproduct in asafe way must not use it
without supervision or instruction.
• Theproduct must only be connected to astandard domestic
220–240V, 50Hz electrical supply.
• Theproduct is only intended for normal domestic use and
only in themanner described in this instruction manual.
• Theproduct is intended for indoor use only.
• Theproduct is only intended for use in anormal indoor environment.
It must not be used in extremely smoky or dusty locations.
• Always plug theproduct directly into awall socket. Do not
connect theproduct to awall socket via anextension lead or
trailing socket.

equipment which turns it on automatically.
• If themains lead is damaged it should only be replaced by
aqualified electrician.
• Always unplug themains lead before cleaning, servicing or
moving theproduct.
• Never use theproduct in areas where combustible or
explosive gases or liquids are stored.
• Never place theproduct where there is arisk of it falling into
water or other types of liquid. Never use it in abathroom.
• Theproduct must only be placed on afirm, flat surface.
• Theproduct must only be repaired by qualified service
technicians using original spare parts.
• Never use theproduct if your hands are moist or wet.
• Never place any items on top of theproduct.
• Never insert foreign objects into theair inlet or outlet.
• Switch theproduct off and unplug it from thewall socket
immediately if it tips over. Make sure that theproduct is
completely intact before using it for thefirst time. If you have
theslightest suspicion that theproduct is damaged, have it
inspected by qualified service technicians before using it.
• Unplug theproduct from thewall socket during thunderstorms.
• Place theproduct in such away that there is no risk of people
tripping over its mains lead.
• Do not place themains lead where it can be crushed or damaged
by sharp edges.
• Never use theproduct if it or its mains lead is damaged in any way.

How does theproduct work?
Ionisation
Theionisation of air can be compared to thefeeling one experiences just before
and after athunderstorm. Immediately preceding athunderstorm, theair can seem
more difficult to breathe and you might feel tired, this is due to theair being filled with
positively charged ions. After athunderstorm when lightning has cleared theair, it can
feel easier to breathe again. This is because theair now contains high concentrations
of negatively charged ions. Modern living standards with computers, fluorescent lights
and built-in ventilation systems generate asurplus of positively charged ions.
Theair purifier described in this instruction manual draws in air through a3-stage filter
comprising apre-filter, aHEPA filter and anactive carbon filter. This process cleans
theair of harmful particles such as dust, pollen, irritating odours and exhaust gases.
If theionisation function is activated, theair will be ionised once it has passed through
thefilter. Theionisation process causes thecharge in theair to disappear. This causes
any dust particles still in theair to fall to thefloor. In order to prevent this dust from
rising up and being sucked into thefilter, thefloor should be vacuumed about aday
(or as required) after theair purifier has been switched on. Regular vacuuming will also
prolong thelife of thefilter.

Operating instructions
Make sure that you have read and understood theentire instruction manual before
using theproduct.
Placement
1
Place theair purifier on aflat and stable surface
at least 30cm away from walls and furniture. Also
make sure that it is at least 50cm away from metal
objects or other electrical appliances.
Installation
1. Detach theair intake grille
and remove thefilter.
2. Remove thefilter
from thepackaging.
3. Refit thefilter. Note: Thearrow on thefilter should
point inwards toward theair purifier.
4. Refit thegrille.
5. Plug themains lead into awall socket.
6. Switch theair purifier on and select functions
as described in theControl panel and functions
section above.

Button lock
1. Hold in [ FAN] and [ TIMER ] at thesame time until thebutton lock indicator
light (10) comes on. All thebuttons on thecontrol panel will now be locked.
2. Hold thesame two buttons in at thesame time again to deactivate thebutton lock.
Care and maintenance
• Always unplug themains lead before cleaning, servicing or moving theproduct.
• If theair purifier is not to be used for anextended period, it should be unplugged
and stored in adry and dust-free location out of reach of children.
Cleaning/changing thelter
Note: Never immerse thefilter in water or other liquid.
Thefilter change indicator light (11) will come on when thefilter needs to be cleaned or
replaced.
1. Detach theair intake grille (5) and remove thefilter. Vacuum clean thefilter and
thespace where thefilter sits inside thepurifier.
2. Refit thefilter and air intake grille.
3. Switch theair purifier on and hold in [ ION] for 3 seconds to reset thefilter
change timer.
If thefilter is damaged in any way or has been subjected to excessive amounts of
contaminants, change it.
Troubleshooting guide
Theair purifier
will not switch on.
Make sure that themains lead is undamaged and securely
plugged into awall socket.
Is thewall socket live?
Low power. Is thefilter fitted correctly? Refer to theInstallation section above.
Clean thefilter or change it if necessary. Refer to theCare and
maintenance section above.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that this product should not be disposed of with
general household waste. This applies throughout theentire EU. In order
to prevent any harm to theenvironment or health hazards caused by
incorrect waste disposal, theproduct must be handed in for recycling
so that thematerial can be disposed of in aresponsible manner. When
recycling your product, take it to your local collection facility or contact
theplace of purchase. They will ensure that theproduct is disposed of
in anenvironmentally sound manner.
