5-Year Limited Warranty
The Coleman Company, Inc. (“Coleman”) warrants that for a period of five years from the date of original retail
purchase, this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship. Coleman, at its option, will repair or
replace this product or any component of the product found to be defective during the warranty period. Replacement
will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available, replacement
may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. No warranty is provided for batteries and lightbulbs.
This is your exclusive warranty.
This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and is not transferable.
Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty performance. Coleman dealers, service
centers, or retail stores selling Coleman® products do not have the right to alter, modify or in any way change the
terms and conditions of this warranty.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts, parts that are not genuine Coleman® parts, or damage resulting
from any of the following: negligent use or misuse of the product; use on improper voltage or current; commercial use
of the product; use contrary to the operating instructions; disassembly, repair or alteration by anyone other than
Coleman or an authorized service center. Further, the warranty does not cover Acts of God, such as fire, flood,
hurricanes and tornadoes. Warranty void if damage to product results from the use of a part other than a genuine
Coleman® part.
COLEMAN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DEFECTS THAT ARE CAUSED BY THE USE OF UNAUTHORIZED PARTS OR
SERVICE. COLEMAN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE
BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITIONS. EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY
APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS
LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THE ABOVE WARRANTY OR CONDITIONS. SOME STATES, PROVINCES,

How to Obtain Warranty Service
Take the product to an authorized Coleman service center. You can find the nearest authorized Coleman service center
by visiting www.coleman.com or calling 1-800-835-3278 or TDD 316-832-8707 in the United States or 1 800 387-
6161 in Canada. If a service center is not conveniently located, attach to the product a tag that includes your name,
address, daytime telephone number and description of the problem. Include a copy of the original sales receipt.
Carefully package the product and send either by courier or insured mail with shipping and insurance prepaid to:

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Carefully read all instructions before use and save for future reference.
2. The PACK-AWAY® 2-in-1 lantern has two distinct methods to distribute
light. In the “closed” position (See Fig. 1), the lantern serves as a
floodlight by directing the beam while holding like a flashlight. In
the “open” position (See Fig. 2), the lantern distributes light 360°.
3. To use as a traditional lantern, pull outward on both ends to fully open.
4. To use as a directional
floodlight, push inward on
both ends of the lantern.

2. La lanterne PACK-AWAY® 2 en 1 présente deux modes de fonctionnement. Lorsque «fermée»
(voyez la fig. 1) et tenue comme une lampe torche ordinaire, c’est un projecteur à faisceau
orientable. En position «ouverte» (fig. 2), la lanterne diffuse son flux lumineux sur 360°.
3. Pour l’employer comme lanterne classique, il suffit de tirer les deux bouts pour déployer le corps.
4. Pour l’utiliser comme projecteur à faisceau orientable, vous poussez simplement les deux bouts
l’un vers l’autre.

TO INSTALL OR REPLACE BATTERIES
Your new lantern operates on 8 “D” cell batteries. For longest life, use
alkaline batteries.
1. With lantern off, turn upside down and unscrew battery cover by
turning counterclockwise.
2. Install 8 “D” cell batteries in the correct orientation as shown on the
battery housing. Always be careful that all 8 batteries are installed
correctly. (See Fig. 3.)
3. To replace battery cover, properly align cover on body of lamp
and turn clockwise. Check that battery cover is securely in closed
position before transporting lantern.
NOTE: When battery cover is fully tightened, the on/off symbols will
align properly with the switch.
MISE EN PLACE OU REMPLACEMENT DES PILES
Votre nouvelle lanterne est alimentée par 8 piles «D». Conseillées, les piles alcalines procurent
l’autonomie la plus longue.
1. La lanterne étant réglée à l’arrêt, mettez-la sens dessus dessous et dévissez le couvercle des
piles en le tournant en sens antihoraire.
2. Placez les 8 piles «D» en les orientant exactement tel qu’indiqué dans le compartiment des piles.
Assurez-vous que toutes les piles soient correctement positionnées. (Voyez la fig. 3)

TO CHANGE FLUORESCENT TUBE
NOTE: This lantern uses an 11-watt fluorescent spiral tube (See Parts List
for replacement part #). Fluorescent spiral tubes are very fragile. Handle
with care.
1. Make sure lantern is in off position.
2. With lantern in an upright position and spiral tube visible, remove
bezel by turning counterclockwise.
3. Gently press down on fluorescent spiral tube and turn counterclock-
wise until both alignment tabs are visible in locating slots of reflector.
Remove tube.
4. Install new fluorescent spiral tube by placing alignment tabs in locating
slots of reflector. Gently push down and rotate clockwise until secure.
(See Fig. 4)
5. Reattach bezel to main body of lantern by turning clockwise by hand
until fully secure. Do not overtighten.
CHANGEMENT DE L’AMPOULE À TUBE FLUORESCENT
REMARQUE: Cette lanterne utilise une ampoule de 11 watts à tube fluorescent spiral (node pièce: voyez la
nomenclature). L’ampoule se révélant très fragile, manipulez-la avec soin.
1. Assurez-vous que la lanterne soit éteinte.
2. La lanterne étant droite et le tube spiral étant visible, dévissez la bague en la tournant en sens
antihoraire.
3. Appuyez délicatement sur le tube spiral pour tourner l’ampoule en sens antihoraire afin que les deux
pattes d’alignement soient visibles dans les rainures du réflecteur. Retirez l’ampoule.
4. Placez les pattes d’alignement de l’ampoule à tube spiral neuve dans les rainures du réflecteur.
Appuyez délicatement sur le tube et tournez l’ampoule en sens horaire pour la fixer. (Fig. 4)
5. Immobilisez la bague au corps de la lanterne en la tournant – à la main – en sens horaire. Ne la serrez
pas de façon excessive.

3. Pour replacer le couvercle des piles, faites-le concorder avec le corps de la lanterne puis tournez-le en
sens horaire. Assurez-vous qu’il soit solidement fermé avant de transporter la lanterne.
REMARQUE: Quand le couvercle est convenablement fermé, les symboles de marche et arrêt
s’apparient avec le commutateur.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
1. The time that the lantern will operate on a new set of batteries depends on how it is used. Alkaline
batteries are recommended for maximum operating time and minimum operating cost.
Approximate operation time (with Alkaline Batteries) up to 19 hours.
2. This lantern may not light at temperatures below 20ºF (-7ºC).
3. When the tube is not lit to full brilliance, batteries should be replaced.
4. IMPORTANT: Do not leave discharged batteries in the lantern for an extended period of time as
this could permanently damage the lantern. If your lantern is damaged due to battery leakage,
refer to battery manufacturer’s warranty for repair or replacement.
5. To clean the outside of the lantern and globe, use only a damp cloth and mild dishwashing liquid.
6. For repair service, call 1-800-835-3278 TOLL FREE in the United States or 1-800-387-6161 in
Canada for location of your nearest service center. If the lantern must be returned to a service
center, attach your name, address, and a description of problem to product and mail to service
center with shipping and insurance prepaid. (Do not ship product with batteries loaded.)

lanterne doit être envoyée à un centre de service, joignez-y vos nom, adresse et une brève
description de la panne; enlevez les piles (n’expédiez jamais une lanterne contenant des piles)
puis envoyez le colis au centre, en port et assurance payés.
