GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1.1 PURPOSE OF EQUIPMENT
DESCRIPTION OF EQUIPMENT
The Model DD4228 provides four selectable transforms for an HDMI
Video Picture: Left/Right Mirror, Top/Bottom Flip, Rotate 180 , and Normal.
The HDMI signal can be interlaced (i) or progressive (p) and should
be 50 or 60 Hz.

A DVI-D signal at the input is also acceptable although a connector
adapter may be required.

The Model DD4228 accepts HDMI Video at its input, performs the
user-selected transform, and provides an HDMI output for display on a
compatible monitor.
The DD4228, constructed in an anodized aluminum chassis for EMI
shielding, is free standing for bench top use. It requires an external power supply
to provide 5 Volts DC , 1 Amp, at its 5.5x2.1mm coaxial power
connector.
The Input/Output connectors are physically compatible with all full-
size HDMI cables.

INSTALLATION
OPERATION
To select Normal, Mirrored, Flipped, or Rotated Mode
Normal:

Connect a camera or other source of an HDMI video signal to the “input”
connector on the rear of the DD4228. If the video source provides DVI, a simple
HDMI-DVI adapter or cable will be required.
Connect the coaxial power input to a regulated 5VDC, 1000mA, center pin
positive regulated power source. After a couple seconds, the Power LED should
appear steady. After a few more seconds, video will start to pass through. The LED
may change color as settings are made or changed.
While making selections, it may be necessary to wait a few seconds after each
button-press before the unit’s response can be observed.
The DD4228 defaults to a normal picture display when powered up.
: After power up, press menu three times; once to enter the menu
and then twice more to select “Show Effect”. Then press the + button twice to select
“LR Mirror”. The menu will disappear after a few seconds or you may press Exit.

Connect an HDMI video monitor to the “output” connector. DVI monitors
are also suitable with use of a DVI-HDMI adapter or cable.
After power up, press menu three times; once to enter the menu
and then twice more to select “Show Effect”. Then press the + button once to select
“TB Mirror”. The menu will disappear after a few seconds or you may press Exit.
Although it will not change the output format, this mode reduces the maximum
effective resolution as the signal is processed by the unit.

Press the menu button until the desired color, red, green,
or blue, is selected. Press the - and + buttons until desired color balance is
observed. An indication of “128” means that the color is being passed through
normally. The menu will disappear after a few seconds or you may press Exit.
: Three modes are offered that alter brightness and contrast
settings. After power up, press menu twice; once to enter the menu and then
once more to select “Picture Mode”. Press the + or - buttons to step through the
three available modes. The menu will disappear after a few seconds or you may
press Exit.
Without entering the menu, press the + or - buttons to
increase or decrease audio volume.
: Output format (in terms of resolution) may be set
independently of the input signal or selected processing. Press the “Res.” Button
to step through the available formats. The picture will go black for about five
seconds each time the button is pressed.

Colorado Video, Incorporated warrants the equipment of its manufacture to be free
of defects in material and/or workmanship under normal use and service. Colorado
Video, Incorporated’s obligation under this warranty is limited to making good at
its laboratories any part or parts thereof , which shall within ninety (90) days after
delivery to the original purchaser be returned to Colorado Video, Incorporated at
its laboratories, with transportation charges prepaid, and which Colorado Video,
Incorporated’s examination shall disclose to its satisfaction to have been defective.
This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other warranties and representation,
express or implied, and of all other obligations or liabilities on the part of Colorado
Video, Incorporated. In no event shall Colorado Video, Incorporated be liable for
damages of any kind connected with the use of its equipment or its failure to
function properly.
This warranty shall not apply to any equipment which shall have been repaired or
altered outside of Colorado Video, Incorporated’s laboratories so as to, in Colorado
Video, Incorporated’s judgement, affect its use, function, reliability, or which shall
have been subject to misuse, alteration, improper installation, negligence, or
accident.
Before any equipment is returned to Colorado Video, Incorporated for repairs or
adjustments, shipping instructions should be obtained from Colorado Video,
Incorporated. Colorado Video, Incorporated assumes no responsibility for
unauthorized returns.
