Introduction
This Installation and Service Information booklet is intended for persons (electrical engi-
neers, service technicians) authorised to install and service the camera. These persons
must be familiar with all the regulations relating to electronics and must comply with
these regulations at all times. This information is not suitable for users without specialist
knowledge.
Intended use
The PCB cameras PM200, PMH200, PME200 and PML200 are system components
for professional use in closed-circuit surveillance systems. Other applications are not
permitted.
The cameras should be installed and serviced only by qualified electrical engineers.
In the event of questions concerning the use of the camera modules which are not ans-
wered in this information booklet, please contact:

Electromagnetic compatibility
The PCB cameras PM200, PMH200, PME200 and PML200 are system components
which are manufactured and supplied only for further integration by companies speciali-
sing in the field of electromagnetic compatibility. They cannot be operated alone. They
can therefore not comply with the safety requirements of the European Guideline 89/
336 and do not bear the CE symbol. The necessary measures for compliance with the
safety requirements and the certificate of conformity must therefore be taken by the
integrating persons or companies.
EMC data or diagrams are available on request from your local Computar service stati-
on.
Rating plates
For exact identification, you will find a numeric code on the 4-pin or 6-pin jack. The
code identifies the following models:
69 PM200
21 PMH200
11 PME200
691 PML200

C-SYNC
The following data apply when using a digital composite signal (PME200).
Input tolerances: H: 64 ± 0.128 µs
EQ: 2.35 ± 0.2 µs
HSYNC: 4.7 ± 0.3 µs
Vslow: 27.3 ± 0.3 µs
Input voltage: 4.5 ... 5.0 Vp-p
zAttention!
If the delay (Tdvs) exceeds the tolerance range of ± 8 µs, there is a
danger of malfunction.
ASafety information
• Never attempt to connect the camera to any power network other than that for
which it is intended.
• Take appropriate measures to avoid electrostatic discharges as these can damage or
destroy parts of the camera module.
• Integration and installation may only be carried out by qualified specialist personnel.
The relevant regulations of electrical engineering must be observed and complied
with at all times.
• Handle the image sensor (CCD) with great care. Avoid contact with sharp or pointed
objects (e.g. tools). These can cause serious damage to the surface of the image
sensor.
•On no account should the diameter of the existing holes be increased. Reboring
of the holes can destroy the printed conductors of the circuit board.
• When integrating the camera into other equipment, observe the instructions in the
documentation on the other equipment.
Product description
The black-and-white cameras of the PM200 series are among the smallest CCD came-
ras available. They have a 1/3” IT CCD and are supplied either without lens, complete
with a lens of your choice or with a mount for CS lenses. The CS mount permits the use
of all lens types with manual shutter.
All the components are mounted on a 32 × 32 mm printed circuit board. The four pre-
bored holes at the corners are provided for installation of the circuit board. The camera
has an electronic shutter which permits automatic adaptation to changing light conditi-
ons.
Model PM200 has a standard resolution of 380 lines. Model variant PME200 can be
synchronised with an external digital composite signal, model PML200 with an external
digital vertical signal. Model PMH200 operates with a high-resolution CCD with a reso-
lution of 580 lines.
The following lenses are available:
• 2.5 mm
• 3.7 mm pinhole
• 3.8 mm
• 6.0 mm

Connections
The printed circuit board has a 4-pin (PM200, PMH200) or
6-pin (PME200, PML200) jack.

Lens
• If necessary, install lens mount and lens.
• Loosen the locking screw on the lens.
• Adjust the focus by turning the lens and tighten the screw to fix the setting.
Synchronisation
The following models are designed for synchronisation with an external signal:
PML200: Synchronisation with an external vertical signal (VDSYNC)
PME200: Synchronisation with an external composite signal (C-SYNC)
If no digital synchronisation signals are available, you can create a simple circuit for
generating the signals from a video composite signal (see circuit diagram).
VDSYNC
The following data apply when using a VD signal (PML200).
Frequency range: 50 Hz ± 2%
Stabilisation time: 6 s
Input voltage: 4.5 ... 5.0 Vp-p
Installation
zAttention!
Choose an installation point which ensures that the camera is not
exposed to extremes of either temperature or moisture.
The ambient temperature must lie between –10 and 50° C.
The relative humidity must not exceed 70%.
❚Do not install the system in the immediate vicinity of radiators or other sources of
heat. Avoid installing the system where it is exposed to direct sunlight.
❚Ensure that no water can collect at the installation site. If necessary, use desiccant in
housing to avoid condensation.
❚Lay and place all cables so that they cannot be damaged.
