all camerason adivided screen inanumberofdis-
playing formats – views.
The multiplexershavetwodigitalchannels.The main
channelisused forLIVE displayorforplayback of
recorded pictures.The recording channelisused only
forrecording.
The multiplexershaveRS485 and the CANinterface,
whichenablestocontrolthe telemetry receiversused
forcontrolling the PAN/TILTcameraheadsand zoom
lenses.
Foroptimumcamerarecording on VCR itispossible
tousethe activitydetector.The activitydetectorena-
blestoaffectthe camerarecording ordisplaying ca-
meraswithdetected motion.
The multiplexershavenotonlyadigitalchannel,but
alsoan analogue channel,whichcontainsasequen-

lenses)areconnected tothe multiplexerusing the RS
485 and the CANinterface.The devicesarecon-
nected withshielded twisted paircable.
Basicconnection oftwodeviceson the CANbusis
shownatfigure 4.(Connection ofthe multiplexerand
the telemetry receiverTCisused asthe example).
Lengthofthe CANbuscan be 1000 matmaximum
and bothendsofthe busmustbe terminated with
120 Wresistor.

Ifit isnot possibletoconnect the devicedirectlytothe
bus(fig. 5),you can connectitusing astub (fig. 6).
The lengthof one stub mustbe 60 matmaximum.
The wholelengthof all stubsmustnotexceed 300 m.
Otherconnection possibilitiescan be reached using
the CANbushub.

EXTERNAL KEYBOARD
The external keyboardenablesremotecontrolling of
otherexternalequipment(multiplexers,PAN/TILT
cameraheads,lenses)connected tothe CANbus.
You can connectseveralexternalkeyboardstoCAN
busand controldifferentorthe samedevices.During
controlling of one devicebyseveralkeyboardsyou
areabletooperatecontrolled devicebyanotherkey-
boardfivesecondsafterthe lastcommand ofthe pre-
viouskeyboard(it isnot possibletocontrolone device
fromtwokeyboardsat the sametime).
MULTIPLEXERSNETWORKING
Using the externalkeyboardand auxiliary video
switcheryou can simplycontrolseveralmultiplexers
fromone externalkeyboard.Soitispossibletocontrol
agroup ofmultiplexersorcamerasand watchtheir
outputson one monitor.You can useamultiplexer
sequentialswitcherinstead ofavideo switcher.At
fig. 8 you can see the useofthe multiplexerno. 3
analogue sequentialswitcherasan auxiliary video
switcher.Video outputsofmultiplexersno. 1 and 2
lead tovideo inputs1and 2ofthe multiplexerno. 3.
Forexample,when the externalkeyboardstartsto
controlmultiplexerno. 2,italsosendsacommand to
the multiplexerno. 3 todisplayoutputofthe multi-
plexerno. 2 tothe monitor.You can usethe unused
video inputsofthe multiplexerno. 3 forrecording or
displaying on adivided monitorscreen.

CAMERASDISPLAYING – LIVE
The cameradisplaying isan implicitmode,whichis
started afterthe devicehasbeen switched on.Came-
rasaredisplayed according tothe last chosen view.
Setup cameratothe firstposition bypressing the
corresponding button 1to16;the following cameras
arearranged automatically. Ifthe camerawasatthe
first position,itwill be displayed at full screen. The TP
multiplexersomitthe displaying ofthe disabled cam-
eras,thatprovidesthe bettercompatibilityofdisplay-
ing without emptyframesamong the cameras.
The firstcamerahasthe privilege ofthe zooming
function (ZOOM - PLAY mode only) and telemetry
controlling.
Pressing the button AUTO itswitches the automatic
switching sequenceon oroff.Set up the sequence
parameters using the menu Sequence, Displayed
cameras and Timemultiplier(see page 8and 9).
PLAYBACK RECORDING - PLAY
The playback ofthe coded recordfromthe VCR is
switched ONbypressing the PLAY button.The cam-
erasaredisplayed onthe screen ofthe mainchannel
according tothe topicalviewinthismode.
Pressing the button 1to16 setup the particularcam-
eratothe firstviewposition;the following camerasare
arranged automatically.The function ofzooming
(ZOOM) isalwaysavailableonlyforthe firstcamera.
By anotherpressing the button PLAY,the multiplexer
switchesintothe LIVE mode.
DIGITAL ZOOM - ZOOM
Digitalpicturezoomcan be switched on onlyinthe
PLAY mode bypressing the button ZOOM+. When
you areusing the zoom function,onlythe centreofthe
wholepictureisdisplayed on the monitorscreen.The
picturecan be moved using the direction arrows.
When the zoomison,the titleZOOMisdisplayed on
the monitorstatusline.The zoomcan be setup only
on the mainchannel.The digitalzoomwill be turned
off bypressing the button ZOOM- orZOOM+.
PICTURERECORDING - REC
The recording ofthe coded imagesisswitched on by
pressing the button RECand itisindicated byred
pointinthe statusline.Recording usesitsowninde-
pendentchannelwithoutaffecting the mainchannel.
Anotherpressing the RECbutton stopsrecording.
ANALOGUECHANNEL CONTROLLING - SEQ
Controlling aspotanalogue channelisswitched on by
pressing the button SEQ. The buttons1to16 are
used fordisplaying acorresponding camera, bypress-
ing the button AUTO itisswitched the automatic
switching sequenceon oroff.Setup sequential
switching parametersusing the menu Sequence,
Camerasin sequence and Timemultiplier(see page 8
and 9).By anotherpressing the button SEQ, the mul-
tiplexerswitchesback intothe controlling ofthe main
channel.
DISPLAYING VCR INPUT - VCR
When playback doesnotwork asexpected,itis
probablycaused by missing orimpropersignalat
VCR INinput.
Press and holdthe PLAY keyforat least 2secondsto
displaysignal from VCR INtothe monitor controlled at
the moment. Ifyou controlLIVE orPLAY mode,the
picture is processed digitally(asrealplayback),when
you control analogue channel,the signalis displayed
asit istothe analogue output.
Releasing the PLAY key returnsthe multiplexertoits
previousmode.
SELECTVIEW – VIEW
The viewon the mainmonitorcan be selected by
pressing the VIEWbutton.Onthe monitorscreen the
following menu will be displayed and than the de-
manded viewcan be chosen bypressing the button 1
to12.Onlythe first6displayed possibilitiesareavail-
ablefor4channelmultiplexersand onlythe first10 for
10 channelmultiplexers.
TELEMETRYCONTROLLING
TPmultiplexersoffer remotecontrolling ofcameras
using the RS485 and the CANinterface.Ifasplit
screen isbeing displayed,you can controlthe first
cameraofthe view(lefttop cornerofthe vieworthe
centreatthe viewno. 11).Onlycameraswithteleme-
try receiveraddress setup can be controlled.This
address issetup inthe menu Telemetry addresses
(see page 9).
PAN/TILTunitand lenscontrolling:
PAN/TILTcameraheadsarecontrolled using the di-
rection buttons.The lensiscontrolled using the but-
tonsZOOM +/-, FOCUS +/-, IRIS +/-. Automaticfocus
oririsisturnon bypressing the buttonsPRESET,
AUTO, FOCUS+orIRIS+, ifcamerasupportthis.
Automaticfunction isturnoff bystartofmanualcon-
troll.
User AUXoutputscontrolling:
Multiplexercan control2user outputs(AUX1and
AUX2)ofthe telemetry receiver.The useroutputs
controlling ispossiblewiththe useofthe buttons
PRESET(the button startsflashing)and one ofthe
buttonsZOOM.Allocation ofthe individualuserout-
putsAUXtothe buttonsisasfollowing:
AUX1 – ZOOM+
AUX2 – ZOOM-
The outputfunction can be setup inthe menu Tele-
metry (see page 16).

MultiplexersTPcan setup aso-called preposition (in
advanceprogrammed position ofPAN/TILTcamera
headsand zoomlenses).
Preposition invoking:
Pressing the button PRESET, PLAY and enterthe
numberwithinthe displayed rectangleand confirm.
Although the numbercan be setup to999,the range
dependson the camerapossibilities(pleasesee its
manual).The PAN/TILTcameraheadsand the zoom
lenswill be setup intothe in advancesaved preposi-
tion.
Preposition saving:
Pressing the buttonsPRESET, RECand the number
subsequentlythe preposition can be saved.Afterthat
the topicalposition ofthe PAN/TILTcameraheads
and zoomlensissavedintothe telemetry receiver
memory.
Cameras OSDmenu:
The camerasOSDmenu can be disabled inthe menu
Telemetry (see page 16),soif you areusing the cam-
erasmenu be surethe function isenabled.
Forshowthe camerasmenu press the buttons
PRESET, MENU.Onthe statusline the “PRESET”is
displayed.The arrowbuttons(¬-¯®)areused for
moving inthe menu.Howeverinsomespecialcases
mustbe used anotherbuttonsaccording todisplayed
instructions.Ifnumberentering isrequired,thiscould
be done bylong pressing PLAY button.
Afterleaving the camerasmenu and pressing the
PRESETbutton you returnback tothe pan/tiltand
lenscontrolling mode.Afterthatthe “PRESET”disa-
pearsfromthe statusline.
FREEZEPICTURE(HOLD)
During LIVE and PLAY modespressing the button
HOLD freezesthe mainchannelmonitorview.The
picturestartstomoveagainbyotherpressing ofthis
LOADMACRO (MACRO)
TPmultiplexersenabletodefine so-called macros.
Macroisasetof parameters,whichchange the multi-
plexersettingswhen the macroislaunched.
The following menu isdisplayed afterpressing the
button MACRO.
Aparticularmacroisswitched on bypressing the
button of1to8and itchangesprepared parameters.
The intended parameterscanbe setup inthe menu
Edit macro (see page 13).
DISPLAYALARMSTATUS (ALARM)
By pressing the button ALARMthe following tableis
displayed,whichrepresentsactualstatusofall alarm
inputs.
Incasethe alarmoutput(relay) isactive,you can
switchitoff bypressing the button 1.Ifyou press the
button ALARMagain,the listofrecorded eventsis
displayed.
DISPLAYLISTOF EVENTS
Thereisdisplayed alistof eventsinthismenu,which
correspond tothe parameterssetup inthe menu
EVENTS (page 14).The eventsaredisplayed from
the lastrecorded one.Theyaredisplayed ten on each
page. Pagescan be listed bybuttons -and ¯.

By pressing the button MENU the mainmenu isdis-
played on the screen.It isthe starting point forsetting
up all multiplexerfunctions.Tomakethe work easier,
thereisan infoline at the bottomofthe screen.
MAINMENU
MENU CONTROLLING
- The button ¬(BACK)cancelsthe actuallevelofthe
menu on the screen and goesback tothe previous
level.
- The buttons -and ¯enablemoving up and downor
correct the edited level.
- The button ®(CHOOSE,NEXT)choosesasub-
ordinatemenu ormovestothe otherlevel.
- The buttonsof 1to 10 set up anumber.
- The button ZOOM+ deletelast figureinthe number
- The button ZOOM- entersnumber.
- Forfastermoveintothe subordinatemenu itispos-
sibletoenterthe numberofitsline.You can getdi-
rectlyintothe menu,whichyou wanttochange us-
ing severalbuttons.
MENU - VIDEORECORDER
Setup the type and working modesof the VCR inthis
menu.Forthe correctrecording function itisimportant
toensurethatthe VCR and multiplexerwork inthe
samemode.You can alsodefine the type ofthe con-
nection between the VCR and the multiplexerwiththe
helpofAUXinput.
VCR TYPE
Setup yourVCR type here.IfyourVCR type isnot
mentioned here,usean analogoustype orchoosea
userdefined VCR and setup the working VCR modes
inthe menu Userdefined VCR (see page 7).
VCR MODE
Time-lapseVCRscan work inseveralworking modes.
You can setthe topicalworking mode ofthe VCR by
the choiceof the line of 1to10.The working mode of
the VCR can alsobe setup withthe helpofmacroor
AUXinput on the alarmconnector(see page 8).
USERDEFINEDVCR
Time-lapseVCRsdo nothaveonlycommon recording
speed inrealtime(50 or60 fieldspersecond),but
alsoextended modes.Thesemodesextend the re-
cording timefrom3hours(using the E180 cassette)to
12,24,48,72,96,120,168,240,480 or960 hours.
Theserecording timesaredifferent at varioustypesof

The menu SEQUENCEprogrammesthe orderand
timeofthe displaying (switching)ofparticularcameras
on analogue switching output (MONSPOT) orinLIVE
mode on mainmonitor. You can programfrom2up to
32 switching stepsofthe sequence.The individual
stepsaremarked withsequentialnumbersand are
arranged one underthe other.Ifyou wanttochoose
the cameraortimeof somestep,you havetochoose
the particularstep withthe helpofdirection keysup
and downatfirst. Then press the button ®
(CHOOSE) and nowyou can change the camera
numberwiththe helpofarrowkeys. By anotherpress-
ing the button (NEXT)you can go toeditthe time.The
timeofthisstep can be setup inthe intervalfrom1up
to255 seconds.The nextpress ofthe button ®fi-
nishesthe editing ofthe chosen step. The lasttwo

TIME MULTIPLIER
Ifyou wouldliketochange the cameraswitching time,
itisnotalwaysnecessary toreprogramthe switching
sequence.All the timedataofthe sequencearemul-
tiplied withthe parameterTIME MULTIPLIER. The
timeofthe displaying ofparticularcamerascan be
quitelengthened orshortened and the proportion of
displaying particularsteps(cameras)still lasts.It is
importanttonotethatthe timeofdisplaying one step
afterthe change will still stayinintervalof1to255
seconds.
Thereisan illustrated exampleinthe table,howthe

TELEMETRYADDRESSES
The address ofthe telemetry receivercan be defined
