Trio is designed for the management of a 350 kW
directly ignited single burner, any power if the burner
is modulating, or flame rod detection (even shared
with ignition).
Since time and cycle can be programmed, the same
device can be used to control any gas burners and
meet all relevant requirements.
Some settings are set by the factory and password
protected to comply with the applicable standards,
whereas others are available to the user, who can
change several functions of the equipment to fit its
application requirements.
An advanced self-diagnostic system provides the
display of either the cycle status, the causes that
produced lockouts or the immediate diagnostic of the
failures that affect the equipment or the burner.
Remote control and supervision of the burner can be
implemented through traditional electrical wiring, or
through optional communication line, which provides
an easy management of multiple-burner systems
featuring great simplicity and low cost.
The pull-out terminal blocks allow the control device
to be easily replaced during maintenance operations.

OPERATION
OPERATIONOPERATION
OPERATION
Combustion air blower is turned on and process limits
are controlled by external circuitry (see wiring).
At power on the device perform a self-test 8
88
8and
displays messages if system failures are detected.
Once the equipment has been successfully tested, the
device waits for manual start-up S
SS
S(stand-by mode), or
starts Prepurge time P
PP
P(autostart mode) depending on
the selected configuration.
A flame detection or simulation during Prepurge time
leads to lockout condition. Ignition device is activated
during Prepurge time for oil burners only (preignition).
A short preignition time is anyway produced (all burner
types) before opening the fuel valve, which remains
open during the programmed safety time I
III .
If a stable flame has been detected the burner is
regularly ignited 2
22
2 .
If the burner does not ignite within the set safety
time, the system locks out U
UU
U. Flame quenching will
lock the system F
FF
F, and the system can (depending on
the selected configuration) :
retry the ignition immediately (respark);
restart a complete cycle again (recycle);
wait for reset (lockout).
The burner can be stopped by:
switching off the power supply;
pressing the front panel button, manual shutdown 0
00
0 ;
remote communication command (remote halt h
hh
h);
internal timer (if enabled).
After a lockout or shutdown request a postcombustion
time is allowed Y
YY
Ybut the flame must quench within 20".
A point .
...will appear on the display (along with the
associated code) during Postpurge time.
The device can stop the burner after programmed auto
shutoff time (5m to 20h50m) of continuous operation
and restart again, providing that all the equipment and
burner safety tests are successfully performed.
The aux SPDT contact will be activated when the burner
is running and released when in lockout condition
(positive action).
Custom component (diode, resistor…) can be placed
in series to common return of aux relay to meet analog
telemetry supervision request.
Complete remote control through serial communication
line is available for devices equipped with the optional
'TraxBus' interface.
