BEFORE FIRST USE
• Remove the appliance and all accessories from the packaging.
• Place the packaging inside the box and either store or dispose of safely.
• Clean all surfaces thoroughly by wiping with a damp sponge or cloth using a mild
detergent.
• DO NOT immerse the unit or the jug in water or any other liquids.
• DO NOT run water directly onto the cooking surfaces.
• Dry the surfaces with a cloth or paper towel.
CAUTION!
THE JUG CONTAINS VERY SHARP BLADES AND SHOULD BE HANDLED WITH CARE
AT ALL TIMES.
Stainless steel removable lter:
The lter is for creating two dierent kinds of soup;
The function of the lter is to protect solid ingredients from the blade when blending
soup. Any ingredients you would like to remain solid should be placed on the OUTSIDE
of the lter. Any ingredients that require blending should be placed INSIDE the lter
where they will be in direct contact with the blade. If you would like completely smooth
soup with no solid ingredients then you can LEAVE THE FILTER OUT COMPLETELY and all
ingredients will be blended together.
Chunky soup- To create a thicker, chunkier soup you must place the solid ingredients-
meat/sh/vegetables outside of the stainless steel lter and into the main area of the
plastic jug.
Smooth soup- To create a thinner soup place solid ingredients- meat/sh/vegetables
inside the stainless steel lter. This will expose the ingredients directly to the blade
which will blend them into smaller pieces creating a smooth soup.

TO USE THE AUTOMATIC/PRE-SET COOKING OPTION:
• There are five pre-set programmes (see pg.5) that can be used to make smoothies or soup.
• First, chop all your ingredients into approximately 2-3cm cubes and add to the soup maker
jug, either within or outside of the Stainless Steel filter (see pg.7).
• Only use pre-cooked meats or sh when using the soup maker and do not use any
frozen ingredients. All ingredients must be at room temperature when adding to
the soup maker.
• Add your preferred liquid or stock to the jug, making sure it is not hot.
• Make sure that the total volume of ingredients added is above the minimum line on the
jug.
• Also ensure that the total volume of ingredients is not more than 1.2 litres as the internal
sensor near the base of the jug must be covered with liquid.
• Note: Under filling the jug will result in the alarm sounding and the unit failing to operate.
• Place the lid onto the top of the jug, making sure that you align the lock open symbol on
the lid with the mark on the top of the handle. Once aligned, turn the lid in the direction
of the arrows until the lid lock symbol aligns with the lock symbol on the jug handle
Note: For correct positioning, the arrows on the lid and top of the handle must point
TOWARDS EACH OTHER and not in the same direction.
• Ensure the measuring cup is fitted to the centre of the lid and locked into position.
• When everything is positioned correctly, connect the appliance to the mains power
supply.
• When you switch on the appliance at the mains power supply wall socket, you will hear an
audible alarm, indicating that the appliance is on and the display panel will show 8888.
• You can now choose your preferred cooking method (see diagram or pg.5 for all options).
• Note: The number of the programme that you have selected will show up on the screen
(see diagram).
• Note: Only room temperature liquid should be poured into the unit, even when re-
heating. Pouring hot liquid or other ingredients into the appliance may result in a heating
malfunction.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

SOUP BLENDER 17
AFTER SALES SUPPORT 0871 911 7003 support@bvg-airflo.co.uk
If you experience any problems with your Soup Maker you must rst ensure that
all the instructions have been correctly followed in the set up and use of the unit.
Regular cleaning and checks to the unit will eliminate the chance of errors occurring.
• Ensure that all ingredients are chopped into pieces no larger than 2-3cm cubes.
• Taking care of the sharp blade, check that there are never chunks of food blocking the
filter or blade of the unit (do not use your fingers to check the blade).
• All ingredients that you add to the soup maker must be put in at room temperature. If
ingredients are too hot this may cause a failure in the units heating function or cause the
programme to malfunction and run over the set time.
• Never pour hot liquid into the machine, this may cause an error. Ensure that all liquid
being poured into the machine is at room temperature.
• If you find that the soup is burning or catching in the base of the jug, try reducing the
amount of starchy vegetables and/or increasing the volume of liquid used in your recipe.
• For smooth operation, ensure that the ingredients within the Soup Maker are always
poured above the minimum fill level.
• Take care not to over fill the unit - the maximum it will hold is 1.2 litres.
• NOTE: Once the unit is in operation, take care that all the ingredients remain below the
max fill line. Ingredients can bubble over this line during cooking time and may cause the
overflow sensor to activate and an error to occur.
TROUBLESHOOTING

18 SOUP BLENDER AFTER SALES SUPPORT 0871 911 7003 support@bvg-airflo.co.uk
Problems Solutions
The unit is not working and beeping
1. The jug is not fitted to the base securely.
2. The lid is not fitted correctly.
3. There is not enough liquid in the jug.
4. There may be spillages around the over-flow
sensor.
The unit has stopped in mid-
programme (during the operations)
1. The lid is loose.
2. Liquid level is too low due to evaporation
during cooking.
3. Liquid exceeds the maximum level.
4. The jug is not fitted to the base securely.
Ingredients are still solid – not broken
down after the cooking process has
nished
1. Ingredients may not have been chopped small
enough initially – use the blend function after
the cooking programme.
2. Wrong function was selected – reselect
function.
3. Sufficient liquid may not have been added –
add extra – but remain within the maximum
level.
Ingredients are not cooked enough
after the cooking process has nished
1. Ingredients may not have been chopped small
enough initially.
2. The wrong soup cycle may have been used for
the volume.
3. Too much liquid or too many ingredients have
blocked the filter.
4. Some of the ingredients you have used may
take longer to cook than others – select any
heating function until the food is fully cooked.
The soup is not hot and the cooking
cycle appeared to nish early
1. There was too much hot liquid in the jug and
therefore, the movement of the soup during
cooking may have reached the upper overflow
sensor and automatic cut-off occurred.
Note: Failure to observe these procedures correctly may result in an error.

Problems Solutions
E1- Anti-dry sensor error
E1. First ensure that no water has leaked onto
the base unit. Check that the base unit has
not been submerged in water. You must
not put the base unit into water; it may be
cleaned with a damp cloth only. If error
message remains after ensuring that the
unit has not let in any water then please
refer to a qualified technician.
E2- Lid is not tted correctly
E2. Remove lid and re-fit. It is important that
the arrows on the lid and top of the handle
point TOWARDS EACH OTHER and NOT in
the same direction.
E3- Indicates that the water level is
lower than the sensor
E3. Ensure liquid/ingredients are above
minimum level.
E4- Indicates that the program has
over-run the set time
E4. It is important to ensure that you have
set the correct cooking time to avoid
overcooking or errors. Turn off the power
switch on the unit and unplug. If hot
liquid was put into the soup maker it may
have caused a malfunction. Let the unit
cool down, empty and clean. If the error
message still shows upon turning the unit
back on the please refer to a qualified repair
technician.
E5-Indicates that the overow sensor
has been activated
E5. Ingredients have covered the overflow
sensor. At no point, before or during
cooking, should ingredients come
above the max fill point. If error message
occurs, switch off the unit, check that no
ingredients are blocking the sensor (located
just above the max fill point in line with
the top of the handle) and clean away
any ingredients that may have caused the
error. If the error message still shows upon
turning the unit back on then please refer to
a qualified repair technician.
