The COOLSHIRT® Pro Air & Water System is the finest Driver Cooling System Av il ble tod y. Used
by drivers in ll levels of r cing, this system delivers the ultim te in driver cooling comfort. The Pro
Air & W ter System delivers temper ture controlled cooled w ter to the driver’s COOLSHIRT® while
providing cooled HEPA-4 filtered, blower enh nced ir to the driver’s helmet.

Installation Instructions:
OUNTING TRAY ( T-12/24) and COOLING UNIT (PSAW-12/24)
1) Select mounting tr y loc tion nd perm nently tt ch the tr y to the r cec r with ny
ppropri te h rdw re (not provided). Pl ce cooling unit into the mounting tr y.
2) Thre d the tie down str p through one of the two slots provided on the cooling unit, then
run the str p down through the slot on the s me side of the mounting tr y. Run the str p
lengthwise under the cooling unit between the mounting tr y nd cooling unit, through the
slot on the other side of the mounting tr y nd up through the slot in the top of the
cooling unit.
3) Use the cl mp provided on the str p to secure the cooling unit to the tr y. The cooling unit
nd mounting tr y were p ck ged this w y from the f ctory prior to shipping to
illustr te proper pl cement of the tie-down str p.
Note: Ensure that the 12-foot water hose and the 8-foot x 1½” air hose can reach the
driver. Do not allow the hose to come into contact with any hot metals as this may
damage the hose.
BLOWER (BF-235)
1) Select the cockpit loc tion for the blower nd perm nently mount the blower to the
r cec r using ny ppropri te h rdw re (not provided)
2) M ke sure th t the 3-inch ir int ke is pointed tow rds the outside of the c r. Pl ce filter
nd screen nd f sten with tie-wr p or cl mp (not provided).
CAU ION: DO NO OVER IGH EN AS HIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE O HE FAN BLADES
TE PERATURE CONTROL SWITCH
1) Select the loc tion for the Temper ture Control Switch nd perm nently mount the switch
to the r cec r using ny ppropri te h rdw re (not provided). The switch h s f cepl te
th t llows for convenient in-d sh mounting or it m y be mounted t ny loc tion th t is
ccessible by the driver
2) Wire the cooling unit nd the blower to the Temper ture Control Switch using ppropri te
lengths of wire (not provided). As the instructions provided with the switch illustr te:
Cooling Unit: brown = + (positive), black= - (negative)
Blower: yellow= + (positive), black= - (negative)
Now wire the Temper ture Control Switch to the r cec r’s 12V system nd ground
properly using the instructions provided with the switch.

INTAKE AIR HOSE (A-3X3FT) AND HEL ET AIR HOSE (AIRH-8)
1) Determine the length of 3-inch hose needed to pick up outside ir nd cut the hose to the
ppropri te length.
2) Slide one end of the 3-inch hose over the int ke side of the blower. If you h ve NACA
duct, connect the hose to the duct ppropri tely.
3) Att ch the other end to the blower sing the 4-inch blue d ptor provided
4) Att ch the 1½ Helmet Air hose to the blue d ptor lre dy tt ched to the other side of
the blower.
5) Determine length of 1½ inch hose needed to connect to the driver’s helmet nd cut the
hose to the ppropri te length.
6) Att ch to the helmet with the blue d ptor provided.

Operating Instructions:
1) Pour ½ g llon of w ter into the cooling unit. Fill the unit with block ice (prefer ble) or
cubed ice to the top of the unit.
2) Put on the COOLSHIRT next to your skin with the tubing f cing out. Put on your driver’s
suit nd route the hoses outside of your suit vi the side pocket or front zipper.
3) Connect hose to cooling unit nd COOLSHIRT. Listen for n udible “click”-th t ensures
good connection.
4) Att ch helmet hose. Using FC-2 Switch, turn the unit on nd select your setting
preference.
roubleshooting:
1) Leaks: Check to see if ll fittings re properly connected. Listen for n udible “click”.
2) Not Pumping: Recheck electric l connections.
3) Water not flowing: Check the hoses to be sure th t your se t belt or h rness is not
crimping the tubing. If the pump is running but not pumping w ter, dd one more qu rt
of w ter.

4) Air not circulating: Recheck electric l connections.
Maintenance:
1) COOLSHIRT®: Turn the shirt inside out nd w sh in w shing m chine on the gentle cycle in
w rm or cold w ter
2) Add 2 ounces of M inten nce Additive (MA-16) to the cooling unit with the ice and water
each time the unit is used. This will keep the pump, hoses, nd shirt lines cle r of the
buildup th t occurs n tur lly in w ter circul tion systems nd will incre se the
perform nce nd lifetime of the pump. Also, once per month or just before long-term
stor ge, dr in the hose nd shirt with the univers l connector & Dr in kit (P rt#UK-2)
