work with the Homelink 75 security system
Fitted within a Polycarbonate plastic enclosure are a 90dB
siren, radio transceiver operating on 868MHz, battery pack
and strobe light. The unit can be mounted on any vertical
surface up to 100m from a Homelink 75 control unit. (Note
that the range may vary depending on the site conditions.)
This Guide shows the procedure required to install the radio
siren and program the control unit to operate the siren in an
alarm.

Installation
Before installing the siren carry out a radio site survey. Use
the 790r signal strength meter and test transmitter to make
sure that radio reception is adequate at the proposed sites for
the control unit and siren.
Location
DO site the siren:
a) So that that there is a clear space around the case to allow
it to receive a good quality radio signal.
b) As high as possible to make sure an intruder cannot
interfere with it. Make sure the unit can be seen and heard
easily. Do not place the unit facing heavy traffic or a
railway line, which will drown the sound of the sounder.
Do NOT site the siren:
a) Outside the area covered by the alarm system.
b) Near ground level.
c) Close to or on large metal structures, for example: metal
doors or frames, water tanks, cars, fridges and freezers.
d) Closer than one metre to mains wiring and metal water or
gas pipes.
e) Inside steel enclosures.
f) Next to high voltage electrical equipment, or electronic
equipment, particularly computers, photocopiers or other
radios.
Exposure to Radio Frequency Radiation
The radiated output power of this device is below those levels
considered safe by European exposure limits. Nevertheless,
when fitting the product place it in such a manner as to
minimise the potential for human contact during normal
operation. To minimise exposure, users should be more than
200 mm from the device during normal operation.

Teaching the Siren to the Control Unit
You will need to “teach” the identity of the radio siren to the
Homelink 75 control unit. It is better to do this before
physically installing the siren in its final position.
At the Siren:
1
2
Remove battery trim
cover.
Remove transparent
battery cover.
3
4
Insert batteries.
Note: The siren emits a
loud tone (“beep beep”) as
you apply power.
Replace transparent
battery cover.

Installation 750r
Page 8 497291
At the control unit:
1. Enter installer mode.
2. Select “Other Devices”.
3. Select “External Siren Menu”.
4. Select “Add/Del Ext Siren”.
The display shows a list of the positions available for
learning external sirens. If a “ ” icon appears at the end
of a line then that position is already assigned to an
external siren.
5. Use the scroll key to select the position you want to use,
and then press “Select”.
The display shows “Activate Ext Siren Tamper”.
6.
Activate the tamper arm on
the siren.
The control unit display shows “Siren Added Signal
Strength” and a number.
The number represents the signal strength of the radio
transmission from the siren, measured by the control
unit. For successful operation the number should be
higher than 3 when the siren is mounted in its final
position (see page 10).
7. Press “Back”.
The display shows the list of external sirens. The siren
you have just made the control panel learn should now
show the “ ” icon.
Note: Do not leave installer mode until you have fitted the
siren in its final position.

Physical Installation
1
2
Mark the place for the first
screw at the position you
have selected for the
siren. Drill hole. Fit first
screw. Leave 4mm proud.
Hook siren onto first
screw.
3
4
Remove the transparent
battery cover.
Remove the batteries.
5
6
Mark position of second
and third holes. Remove
siren and drill holes.
Replace siren. Fit and
tighten screws in second
and third holes.

Insert batteries. Refit transparent battery
cover and trim cover.
Safety Warning
When installing batteries in the siren it will emit a loud tone
(“beep beep”) as you apply power. Since the tone may startle
you make sure that you cannot overbalance and fall, or drop
the siren.
At the Control Unit
1. Press “Back” repeatedly until you return to the top level
of installer mode.
2. Scroll down and select “Siren”.
Press “On/Off” to operate the external and internal
sirens. Make sure that you can hear the external siren.
3. Press “Back”.
4. Scroll down and select “Testing”.
5. Scroll down and select “Ext Siren Signals”.
The display shows the signal strength from the external
siren.
Make sure that the strength of the signal received from
the position you have chosen for the siren is above 3.
6. Press “Back”.
7. Leave installer mode.
The system is now ready for use. By default the control unit
assigns the external siren to all partitions. See the 7500r
Installation and Programmng Guide if you wish to change this
assignment.

Introductie
Overzicht

vrieskisten.
gasleidingen.
e) In stalen constructies.
